Clab is meant for branding. The initial characters were build in bold and chunky personality, yet the thin strokes and flowy italics gives it a versatile and unique set of family. Quida Rough is a textured display family with three styles; Regular, Italic and Script. The personality of the design comes the rough, worn outlines and concave vertical shapes, which are consistent through all styles. This makes them work together seamlessly. There is a very simple reason why the name of this font includes a potato. Or potatoe, if you prefer. It was carefully carved out of 14,5 kg of potatoes. Or 32.0 lb of potatos. Every single letter, every digit and every symbol. Manually, of course, and care-fully. It took a while. Longer than digitizing it, but since we love great quality, we put just as much care into this process.

Bouquet font is a cursive fat typeface influenced by brush writing and skilfully flavored with elements of fractur. Type designer Dzianis Serabrakou really did well in every single letterform, aperture, curve and line, but this was probably below satisfactory and he didn’t stop here – Denis developed the font to a higher level by making it fully open-type compatible. Grabnika Unix is a unicase style typeface with a straight and a bit tall look and it has a residual influence of monospaced fonts. One of the major characteristics of this typeface are those sharp cuted ears and joints that appears repeating at some of the letters and gives him a distinctive personality and a minimalist design approach on other group of letters that creates an alternative interesting fill of the spaces. While there can be similar handwriting styles out there, no two handwritings are exactly the same. I like to think that I have the same handwriting style as my father, but I had never seen him write with lowercase letters, only in all capitals, except when signing his name on something in cursive. I recently came across a letter my father had written long ago to a friend. It was returned to sender, yet he kept it intact. The letter primarily thanked his friend for his hospitality when my father unexpectedly dropped in for a visit while traveling. I was so taken by the handwriting, that I decided to make it into a font, not only to remember my father, but also to forever preserve his handwriting. Relato has a low contrast and “a muscular” structure that makes it useful for setting longer text. In display sizes it has a variety of details that lends it a unique and personal expression. The formal principle of the serif, the variety of terminal strokes and the combination of curves and semi-straight lines gives the Relato a more “human” flavor. The inspiration for the design comes from different traditional calligraphic styles. The upper case letter, for example, is based on roman capitals from the Rennaissance, whereas the lower case relates to humanist handwriting. Even so, Relato is a decidedly contemporary typeface, proposing individual ideas on the design of type. Proudly present our new font. It is named Hollgates - Elegant Signature Font. Hollgates is script handwritten style with a natural charm. This font which is a modern signature and unique style handmade comes with very beautiful character changes. To keep the maximum real hand-lettered effect, there were created 240 ligatures (you can see them among the presentation pictures). When creating the font, we should take into consideration that each letter should be able to be connected with other letters. For example, the letter "a" should be well connected as well as with "l" and "n" and with any other letters. This limits us: we have to start letter from exact one point and finish at exact second point. So here come ligatures. Rifton is a heavy display typeface designed for use in large sizes. It is available as a regular and italic font or as one Variable Font with an italic axis. Installing the Variable Font offers users additional benefits because, in addition to the pre-defined “upright” and “italic” instances, the interpolations between them can be used. That allows you to have slanted text – but just a little less slanted than in the italic. Rifton is an all-caps design, but the letters mapped to the lowercase keyboard do not always have the same forms as the uppercase. That is most visible when it comes to the “s”, which takes a Star-Wars-style form (think of the Star Wars logo). The Rifton fonts also include OpenType features like ligatures – including some exciting discretionary ligatures – and super-wide alternate glyphs for several letters, including “B”, “E”, “F”, “H”, “L”, “N”, “P”, “R”, “T” and “Z”. Rifton is ideal for making a bold statement in headlines, poster designs, or logos. -

Switched On and Switched Off where two fonts developed by placing points on a pre-defined square grid template. The experiment was to explore all the variations possible by just using straight connecting lines on a grid. I stumbled on the final concept, almost accidentally, and was amazed by the numerous possibilities. Both designs where created to work together. By adjusting the stroke and inline proportions between the two fonts, I was able to achieve a good overall color balance between 'Switched On' (dark letters on a light background), and the 'Switched Off' design as a knockout treatment (light letters on a dark background). Used in this way, both fonts visually appear similar in overall weight and proportion. They harmonize well together. Used separately, they make for some interesting visual effects and headline treatments. The fonts are best used at large point sizes, but they are still legible in a variety of smaller sizes. I think that by experimenting with these two fonts one can achieve some stunning visual effects. Explore and have fun.

Zapfino Arabic is designed by Nadine Chahine as the Arabic companion to Hermann Zapf’s iconic Zapfino typeface, with the approval of Prof. Zapf. The design is an evolution of Arabic calligraphic traditions that combines Naskh and Nastaaliq to form a backward slanted calligraphic style. The character proportions refer to Naskh traditions but the isolated and final forms bring with them an exaggerated swash-like movement that references the extravagant ascenders and descenders of Zapfino. The font contains a large number of contextual variants that work to create a smooth flow of pen movement, as well as 10 stylistic sets. The character set supports the Arabic language as well as basic Latin. Zapfino Arabic is meant to be used as a display typeface, for logos, greeting cards and short headlines. It could also work for short pieces of text, for poetry or chapter introductions, when used in a generous type size and with ample space around it. Its design is soft and elegant, and leaves a lot of room for typographic playfulness.

A modern black-letter, so to speak. Composed of a few basic elements with a wide-quill ductus. Faber Fraktur was based on the idea that it must be possible to create a modern black-letter type. The typeface is ”constructed“ according to the same principles as a script without serifs: as few varied basic forms as possible, omission of frills which make the type difficult to read and repetition of similar forms. The typical contrasting strokes of the original handwritten black-letter script are retained nonetheless. The elements of this typeface were even pre-formed with the quill. All characters are reduced to their basic skeleton. The fanciness and manifold ”breaks“ or fractures typical of black-letter typefaces are considerably reduced to just a few essentials. Faber Fraktur is a very legible type perfectly suitable for long texts. It does not appear nearly as foreign and archaic as the old black-letter fonts. The capital letters especially have a charm of their own radiating a kind of playfulness in spite of their severe form.
