There's something satisfying about tweaking to perfection a typeface based on the particular style of lettering applied to a particular kind of paper by a particular human hand. One day, in pursuit of this curious sense of satisfaction, I sat down with a porous pad of lined note paper and printed out the alphabet with a ballpoint pen. I found particularly interesting the bulbous ends of the strokes where the ink soaked in. I couldn't help myself: I drew out the rest of the character set, scanned, hand-traced, and -- as with all 3IP font designs -- manipulated every glyph to an obsessive degree. Named it Cedar Street, after a favorite address of mine. Full release has a single medium weight with a thorough character set.

Hard Rain is named after the torrential thunderstorms that occur in the subtropical regions on the east coast of southern Africa -- the land of the Zulu. During the two-month long rainy season the steamy downpour usually lasts for a few days, and is then followed by the welcoming sun. The diagonal stripes represent the heavy drops of water that drench everything they touch. The resulting font has something of a grunge look to it. As with other grunge fonts, Hard Rain is best used for posters and display work. However, the crisp edges mean that it can be very readable even if used at a small size. Unlike most grunge fonts, Hard Rain has a full character set and this greatly extends its usability.

At home we have a wood stove. Last year, I bought a whole bunch of tree trunks, which I cut up with a chainsaw and then chopped with my Swedish axe. In Holland we have a saying that firewood keeps you warm three times: when you cut the tree, when you chop the wood and when you burn it in the stove. Our stove is rather small, so it is not exactly a blazing furnace, but I liked the name because it seems to fit this font. Blazing Furnace was made with ink and a brush. It is a bit messy and rough, but it comes with multilingual support and a nice set of alternates for the lower case letters.

Anaphora is a contemporary serif typeface designed by Francesco Canovaro with Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini and Andrea Tartarelli. Jugo Script is a Koziupa/Paul near-parody of the soft and speedy late-1980s, early-1990s display scripts. Though it essentially is one of the usual exhibits of Koziupa's calligraphic skill, its individual shapes and overall construct show a mischievous wink at Oz Cooper and the hundreds of lens-blurred film types he inspired in the 1970s and 80s. Koziupa's unique sense of letterform and proportion is on full display in the uppercase and the figures, while the lowercase is an eccentric exercise in single stroke lettering, complete with quick and subtle wrist bends, minimal pausing, and hurried exits. Jugo Script's softness and internal call-and-answer structure make it a natural for comfort food packaging, especially the sweet stuff.

Latex was initially a single multi-script all-cap font commissioned in 2012 by a company we can't name, to market a billion-dollar superhero movie we also can't name. A year later the commission grew to include a shaded variant and a set of DIY-like fonts, with different layering possibilities for dimensional manipulation. Each of the five Latex fonts come with a character set of over 600 glyphs, supporting the vast majority of Latin languages, as well as Cyrillic and Greek alphabets. My youngest son Boris has his birthday in a week. He turns 8, and he loves to play with those Danish building blocks - you know what I’m talking about. Last year he developed an interest in Star Wars n(no idea how that came to be), so we bought him some Star Wars-themed blocks for his birthday. I am now watching the movies with him and it is fun to witness his enthusiasm. The only drawback is the fact that we now seem to have a Chewbacca in our home… Meowtant Kittens is a font I drew with a fineliner and then digitised. Of course the name was influenced by the movies I am watching with Boris, even though they don’t feature any Meowtant Kittens.

Back in late 2019, Wahyu Wibowo designed a logotype for Wahyu and Sani Co., he decided to shorten the name to be WSCo. for the logo. Then by the end year of 2021, he got an idea to develop the typeface he did for the logo and start developing a font family which can be used for company branding. Now the typeface has come to life with the name "Warkat". The font family comes in two styles, upright and italic. It has 14 styles in total and additional two variable fonts. Each font has more than 580 glyphs including the alternates which covers Western and Eastern Europe Latin based languages and equipped with functional OpenType features like standard and discretionary ligatures, various format for numbers, ordinal, etc.

ITC Coconino is the work of Serbian designer Slobodan Miladinov. His original inspiration for this monostroked typeface was the idea of translating certain auditory impressions into type, in this case, the surprising and confusing music of the Serbian hip hop musician Voodoo Popeye." Miladinov is an art director in Belgrade and created Coconino using a "freemouse" technique with Adobe Illustrator and sees his work as "computer calligraphy which allows for a specific directness and immediacy in notation." The strokes of this font are simple and abrupt with a studied irregularity. The forms can look either cheerful and lighthearted or chaotic and subtly disturbing. Coconino was named for the home of hte Krazy KAt comics and even includes a few additional characters from the strip."
