  1. Orca Pro by (v) design, $49.00
Orca Pro is a modern sans-serif font family. Its lowercase letters are inspired by the well known OCR-A font, however every single glyph has been more or less revised. Capitals, numerals and all other characters and punctuation marks are entirely new. Feel free to download the PDF Specimen for detailed info and examples. The Orca Pro family consists of 10 fonts – light, regular, medium, bold and heavy weights including real italics. It supports many OpenType features like automatic fractions, ordinals, proportional/tabular figures, numerators, denominators, superiors, inferiors or case sensitive forms and offers great multilingual support for most of Latin-based languages (including CE). Orca Pro contains a number of standard and discretionary ligatures, numerals as well as 62 bullets, symbols and arrows. Orca reveals its soft, rounded character in bigger sizes while it remains distinct and legible in small sizes.
  2. SAV PT by Puckertype, $29.00
SAV Display PT is directly inspired from hand-painted commercial signage found around Savannah, Georgia. There is a strong tradition of hand-painted signs adorning small car wash stations, to beauty salons, to mechanics and restaurants. Currently a collection of about four to five painters account for the majority of the signs. This font was derived from 10 uppercase letters that seemed to represent the aesthetic thread found throughout the signs. There are no lowercase letters found in these signs, so the lowercase of the font had to be designed from scratch. I felt this added versatility to the font and its possibilities for usage. This font is strictly a display font. However, because of the apparent roots (intended or unintended) of the lettering to transitional/modern modulated fonts, it does read surprising well at smaller sizes.
  3. Sapphire Script by Design by Laney, $32.00
Sapphire Script is a hand-lettered modern calligraphy font based on the signature script of Design by Laney. Made with wedding invitations in mind, this font with over 500 playful, romantic characters is perfect for branding, stationery, packaging, social media templates, magazine layouts, artist prints, and more! With 3 or more characters for each uppercase letter and 35 stunning standard ligatures, you'll be able to create that perfectly imperfect calligraphy style. Sapphire Script contains over 500 unique, coded features for a realistic, handwritten look: 35 standard ligatures, full Western European language support, over 100 stylistic alternates, ordinals (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.), 2 alternate number sets including 1-10 Roman Numerals, and a few word glyphs (for, to, from, and). Sapphire Script was named for the street where Design by Laney began, and where I moved in downstairs from my future husband!
  4. Berimbau by PintassilgoPrints, $29.00
Berimbau is a whimsical narrow hand-drawn typeface. It’s stylish, versatile and loaded with amazing OpenType features that do their magic in OpenType savvy applications. Its sprightly swashes and twisting stylistic alternates (say that 3 times fast!) play together to deliver a really cool contextual feature that, in a push-button way, substitutes the first letter in a word with its left swash version and the last letter with its right swash version (please type a space before and after the words). The feature also applies stylistic variants to some of the intermediate letters. Which button to push? The Contextual Alternates one! If you're not a one-click-way-person you can pick your preferred glyphs through the glyphs palette. There you’ll find at least 4 variations for each letter: left swash, right swash and 2 regular forms that correspond to the upper and lower case keys. Some letters also have a 5th variation that acts as stylistic alternate. This font is conveniently packed with the ‘access all alternates’ functionality, so when you click on a glyph at the glyphs palette you’ll see all variations available for it, making it easier to choose the one that will fit better. A bold weight was made to provide that extra-strength when a bit of… boldness is needed. Please note that it doesn’t have the advanced OpenType features (but is still very charming!). Yet, both weights have a handy set of ornaments for added yumminess.
