The inspiration source for MFC Whitworth Monogram is an alphabet set from a vintage embroidery alphabets book, Alphabets Broderies No. 238 by N. Alexandre & Cie. What began as 26 referenced capital letters has been expanded to three sets of alphabets within a single typeface. True to the original reference, the Capitals are the stylized cursive capital letters in all their gorgeousness. The lowercase encapsulates the capital letters intertwined within rectangular frame. By enabling Stylistic Alternates and typing any lowercase letter, you get each letter encapsulated and intertwined within an oval frame. Twirrewyn is Frisian for ‘Whirlwind’. I have always liked the Frisian language; it’s like a crossover between English and Dutch. When I studied journalism in Zwolle (a city close to Fryslân) there were a lot of Frisian students and I did pick up a few words! Twirrewyn is a handmade font family: the fat version was made using a brush and ink; the light version was made using that same ink, but with a broken satay skewer instead of a brush. And yes, you have guessed right, we eat a lot of Satay! ;-)

Hastings was inspired by my appreciation for old fashioned English murder mysteries set in the early part of the twentieth century. No one seems to capture the ambience of the roaring twenties or thirties better than the Brits. Brda originally designed by the Polish designer Franciszek Otto for the Powiat weekly newspaper. Powiat needed a new, dynamically drawn sans serif for its headlines, and Otto's Brda fit the bill. Combining traditional Grotesk letterforms with witty subtleties, like the notched-joint seen in the capital G, Brda displays a novel design that works best when set large. The typeface is named after the Brda river, which runs through Bydgoszcz, Poland, the city where Powiat is published. The Brda family includes three weights, each with a companion italic: Regular, Bold, and Extra Bold. The Brda family's Extra Bold weight was one of the winners selected in the 2003 International Type Design Contest, sponsored by Linotype GmbH. Franciszek Otto also teaches graphic design at the Secondary Art School in Bydgoszcz, where his typefaces rank among the students' favorites.

Gutter Pigeon is not your every-day Ransom-kind-of-font! The prices of making it was really simple: I only used my phone and computer. I took pictures of letter from newspapers, magazines, bookcovers, candybars, movieposters, roadsigns, etc. In the beginning, It was easy to find new letters. But as I had the initial letters, it became quite a search for the missing letters. Not a hard job, you may think - but this font has 8 different versions of each letter! That's 26 lowercase glyphs and 26 uppercase glyphs...8 times! That's more than 400 glyphs! And on top of that comes numbers and punctuation! Go crazy with Gutter Pigeon! Auntie Pat is a new script font in my continuing objective of designing scripts that I can really use. Of course, I am looking for readability in booklets. In many ways, Auntie Pat is a very unusual script in that it has caps, lowercase, small caps with the appropriate figures for each case.
