The inspiration source for Brass Rules Grand is a collection of the brass rules from the 1889 “Convenient Book of Specimens” from Franklin Type Foundry in Cincinnati. This is a collection of basic utilitarian brass rules that has been created as combinable and endlessly expanding. Filling the Numerals and all Capital and Lowercase glyph slots are a total of 62 traditional Brass Rule designs, all extendable by combining with other rules, or by extending the pin line by simply typing a dash "-" or ".". I remember a tea ceremony I attended in Fukuoka, Japan. The teahouse was set in a small, but beautiful garden and the whole idea of the ceremony was to appreciate the view from the porch. I thought the tea was quite bitter, but the view was unsurpassed. From time to time these memories pop up and I have to use them - that is why I named this font Teacup. Teacup is a slightly eroded all caps font, made entirely by hand with a Japanese marker pen and some high quality textured paper. It comes in a romantic open style and a more solid closed style. Teacup is filled to the brim with diacritics.

Cartes has a bit of a strange origin story, as far as fonts go. It’s a combination of ideas from 1920’s advertising and hand-painted letters from the 1500s. The idea for Terra Ignota came to me years ago as I was admiring a reproduction of "Amerique Septentrionale," a 1650 map by French cartographer Nicolas Sanson, given to me by my parents. The handlettering has a sort of rakish character, evocative of pirates or adventurers at a time of unbridled world exploration. I ended up putting the project aside, but the idea to create this font tugged gently at my mind until I simply couldn't ignore it any longer. The resulting typeface has an italic slant and a deliberate feel, in keeping with its historical roots. Useful for simulating old hand-lettered documents. Has a full character set (and then some).

Imperija Roman is a display typeface inspired by stone engraved lettering. Supporting west, central and east European languages it contains over one-hundred discretionary ligatures and a stylistic set for old style diacritics. The original letters were drawn from a memorial engraving in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Further development and several iterations later, Imperija Roman has a flowing organic feel while staying true to the rigid constraints of stone-cut letters. Galaxo Dot is a sister to Galaxo Line. HGB Galaxo is a tribute to Othmar Motter (1927–2010), the Vorarlberg graphic artist and typeface designer, who designed very individual and perfectly crafted typefaces in the 1970's and later. (Motter Ombra, Motter Tectura ...) From a Motter sketch of 5 letters for a logogram, I derived a simplified letterform and developed all the necessary characters. Working on these glyphs and delving deeper into Motter's letterforms, the respect for the accuracy with which he drew his letters (in ink) grew more and more. The spiral resembles the shape of a galaxy, hence the name Galaxo. The font is suitable for retro, poster and logo design.
