Niccolo Niccoli (1364-1437) was a wealthy bibliophile and an acclaimed scribe, in Florence (Italy). He was one of the most important Italian calligrapher in this early time of rediscovering Roman script. Of rare accomplishment was his adaptation of the so called Italian humanistic minuscule script. We were inspired from his late work to create this present Font. We have added a lot of accented and other characters (U/V, I/J...) who was not existing in the original and replacing "long s" by a small "s" for a modern use. The OTF encoding was used for intelligent alternates, permitting to use different forms of the same lower case or capital in a single word, reproducing easily the charming variety of a real manual scripture.

This is not an historically accurate font but rather one intended capture the spirit of ancient Roman manual type. It was inspired by various patterns used in documents and books created by Latin scribes between the second and fourth centuries. They used either calamus and ink on papyrus, or a pointed metal stick on wax tablets. We have created the font for contemporary use; distinguishing between U and V, I and J, which had no meaning for ancient Latin scribes, and adding thorn, Oslash, Lslash, W, Y and common accented characters that did not exist at the time. A lot of titlings and contextual alternates complete the set. Available only in TTF and OTF format.

Regina-Cursiv is a warm, bold, casual typeface. Its friendly, rounded curves remind me of the line from a gospel song by the Canton Spirituals, about "smoothin' up the roughway." Jointly released by the Bauer and Berthold foundries of Germany during the fin-de-siecle period, this typeface has some cultural flexibility. There are alternate versions of the uppercase ‘H’ and ‘I’ that can be chosen to reflect a humanist or blackletter tradition, whichever you prefer. Other alternates offer various stylistic choices. Regina Cursiv is a friendly, comfortable font. You will enjoy using it. Alternative letters: D, E, G, I, K, S, T, d, h, k, m, n and z. The numerals are old-style figures.

Eroded, skeletal and gaunt, Obsessed was one of Zang-O-Fonts first typefaces, and is loosely based on a couple of Art Deco faces.

There is just one subtle difference between these two fonts. The A version has a straight lowercase 'e'; the B version has an angled lowercase 'e'.

At home we love bananas: the kids take them to school for ‘snack time’, they’re healthy and they look pretty as well! Republica Banana is a pun on the term Banana Republic, which was coined by American author O. Henry in 1901. In economics, a Banana Republic is a country that is run as a private commercial enterprise for the exclusive profit of the ruling class. Of course I can point out a few countries that fit this description, but let’s not get into that. Republica Banana is a very nice, hand painted brush font. It comes with double letter ligatures for the lower case and a lot of diacritics for you to play with.

Shopping Script is designed after and inspired by my handwritten shopping list that was originally a lot less stylish, I have written each words multiple times to achieve the organic and natural flow with a bit spaced out style. This font is an existing work of mine that came in only one weight. Now I added multiple weights I as well as expanded and condensed instances, along with a weight and width variable font file that can be set to anything in between Thin Condensed to Heavy expanded. Medium Roman is an engravers, all-capitals font for invitations and stationery. Particular characteristics of the Medium Roman font are the tail on Q and the spurs on J and U.

Auchentaller was inspired by a travel poster by Josef Maria Auchentaller in 1906. To our knowledge, it was never cast in type. Grado lies on the northern Adriatic, between Venice and Trieste. At one time the port for the important Roman town of Aquileia. With the decline of the Roman Empire, the upper Adriatic region came under the rule of the Visigoths, the Ostrogoths, the Byzantines, the Lombards, the Franks, the Germans, the Venetians and finally, in 1796, the Austrian Hapsburgs. So it remained until the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in 1919, following World War I, when the seaport of Trieste was awarded to Italy. With Trieste came Montefalcone, Aquileia and Grado. The area was marked by years of political tension between Italy and Yugoslavia, exemplified by the d'Annunzio expedition to capture Fiume (Rijeka) in September, 1919. Some basic discussion of the period from 1919 to 1939 may be found in Seton-Watson’s Eastern Europe Between The Wars (Cambridge 1945) and Rothschild’s East Central Europe Between The Two World Wars (Seattle 1974). In 1965 I was traveling by train from Venice to Vienna. Crossing the Alps, the train stopped for customs inspection at the rural Italian-Austrian border, just above Slovenia. We were warned not to get off the train because there were still shooting skirmishes in the area. Through all this, Grado remained literally an island of tranquility, connected to the mainland by a only causeway and lines on a map. Auchentaller not only painted the beach scene at Grado, he moved there, living out the rest of his life in this comfortable little island town. His travel illustration contains the text from which the design of our font Auchentaller is drawn. The text translates: "Seaside resort : Grado / Austrian coastal land". Auchentaller is a monoline all-cap font, light and open in design , with a lot of typically art nouveau letter forms. Included in our font are a number of ligatures. As is frequently seen in designs by German speakers, the umlaut is embedded in the O & U below the tops of the letters. This approach led to two whimsies: a happy umlauted O and a sad umlauted U. This font has a clean, crisp look that is very appealing and very distinctive. Auchentaller ML represents a major extension of the original release, with the following changes: 1. Added glyphs for the 1250 Central Europe, the 1252 Turkish and the 1257 Baltic Code Pages. Add glyphs to complete standard 1252 Western Europe Code Page. Special glyphs relocated and assigned Unicode codepoints, some in Private Use area. Total of 336 glyphs. 2. Added OpenType GSUB layout features: pnum, liga, salt & ornm. 3. Added 116 kerning pairs. 4. Revised vertical metrics for improved cross-platform line spacing. 5. Revised ‘J’. 6. Minor refinements to various glyph outlines. 7. Inclusion of both tabular & proportional numbers. 8. Inclusion of both standard acute and Polish kreska with choice of alternate accented glyphs for c,n,r,s & z. Please note that some older applications may only be able to access the Western Europe character set (approximately 221 glyphs). The zip package includes two versions of the font at no extra charge. Nami, the Japanese word for wave," is the latest collaboration between Adrian Frutiger and Linotype's Type Director, Akira Kobayashi. This typeface family is the most humanistic sans serif design ever to come from Adrian Frutiger, and it has an interesting twist: lapidar alternates that may be surfed through with the help of OpenType-savy applications. Adrian Frutiger began the design that would blossom into Nami during the 1980s. Although it would not be produced during the 20th century, it was quite forward thinking. The typeface included several seemingly avant garde alternates; these were "lapidary" versions of common letterforms. Revisiting the project in 2006, Akira Kobayashi reworked the concept into a working family of three typefaces. Each font contains 483 glyphs, including 11 alternates-two extra forms of the lowercase g, as well as new forms for a, e, h, l, m, n, r, t, and u."

Lc Trinidad is the result of a series of wonderings regarding geometric Sans Serif typography design, in particular; Futura of Paul Renner. A “conversation” arose between me and the designer – actually there was no conversation, it is an euphemism for “I saw his designs, I draw them and discussed with myself some of his decisions – that ended up being the origin of this font firsts glyphs: A, H, N, O, R and S. I started with uppercase letters, and here is when Rudolf Koch with Kabel and his “Das schreibbuchlein” joined the conversation. This is how I could develop some alternative lowercase letters so as to illustrate this imaginary discussion. The result is a sans serif, geometric, modern typeface with classical Roman proportion in the uppercase letters; two stylistic sets for lowercase letters (setKoch and setRenner), rational, open and sharp ends. It is ideal to form titles, medium length texts, branding, exhibitions and animations. The family consists of 9 weight variants and their corresponding oblique versions and small caps. With more than 900 glyphs, it covers more than 190 Latin languages and together with its Opentype functions it creates a modern and versatile family. Besides, it has powerful OpenType features for each style, including stylistic sets, extended language support, ligatures, contextual alternates, lining figures, oldstyle figures, small caps numbers, arrows, fractions, superscripts, subscripts and many more.

The new typeface family Vida was specifically designed for Czech Television in the framework of a competition for a new logo in summer 2006. The drawing of each letter form differs finely in its logic, which is a feature invisible at first. It is constructed on a puristic base, but it doesn't reject the natural anomalies already known from ages of experience with latin alphabet. That's why e. g. upper left section of 'n' is constructed differently from that of 'r', similarly as 'd' doesn't repeat right-bottom ending after 'u', '9' is not inverted '6'. Such details improve reading in continuous text. The behavior of all weights is consistent on CRT, plasma or LCD screens due to monolinear design; the lightest weight doesn't fade, the darkest isn't blurred, all is legible and clear in smallest sizes. Stem connections and endings were adjusted to avoid undesirable optical darkening. The goal we desired was to achieve balance appearance in both electronic and printed form.

Phoenica Std Mono expands the already large family of my very successful Phoenica. The motivation to develop a new mono-Phoenica family was that I was not satisfied with monospaced fonts in programming code, or simply in e-mail correspondence. The Mono Phoenica solves the problem of a typical monospaced font, a rigid, fixed width. The design gradations from Condensed monospaced to monospaced from 390em to 600em-square incurred a total of 21 fonts. Packages contain the fonts in CFF-OpenType and TrueType format, so you can use these beautiful fonts on all operating systems.

When Baka and Baka Too did very well commercially (Baka was named the Best Cursive Rough Script in 2005), I shied away from doing rough, handwritten scripts in fear as being seen as a one-trick-pony. A few years have passed and some early sumi-e brush ‘doodles’ kept appealing to me. I initially thought this new font would just fall under the Baka mantle and just become a new sibling, but as brush hit paper over and over again, the letters took on a different personality from Baka. This new font was turning out to be far more expressive, smooth and rough, tasty but sticky. This dichotomy demanded a new name. The rough and smooth texture suggested the name Fugu—oddly delicate while rough and functional.

A blackletter font tending towards the gothic which was released by Klingspor, Offenbach am Main, in 1937. Claudius can be used for clerical as well as for secular purposes and shows a strong character of its own. The original esthetic atrocities of placing the dieresis within the letters A and O - due to former German industry standards - were abolished. Allow the font's beauty spread by giving it enough leading between the lines. This font contains various useful ligatures, and by activating the Ordinals feature and typing 'N', 'o' and period you get an oldstyle numbersign.

A modern sans serif with open round forms. The ”round“ letters emphasize the condensed open oval; the light counter forms provide the rhythm of the typeface, causing the typeface to appear gentle and pleasing. The ”modern“ design of a and g being especially contributive here. All of the letters are recognizably narrow, almost ”condensed,“ the forms being very functionally shaped. The construction of the ”triangular“ upper case letters A M N V W as well as v and w, especially catches the eye with the shafts joined together as beams are stacked upon each other. With this construction Hedwig displays a down-to-earth touch. Contrary to the classical sans serifs, a few letters were given light echoes of serifs which promote fluency: a d l are displayed below the line in a reading direction and end in a compressed but also very short serif style; on m n p r the upstroke is gently displayed and on u the downstroke. For all the typo-maniacs among you designers there are alternative forms for a number of letters in Hedwig: A B D G I M R W and a d f g j l ß u. Even an antiquated ”long“ s and an upper case ß is available. Plus, Hedwig includes numerous ligatures which can save that little bit of space where required and which allow the typeface to appear more variable: ch, ck, ct, fi, fj, fl, ff, ffi, ffl, ft, mm, ti, tt, tz.
