The purpose of the original DIN 1451 standard was to lay down a style of lettering which is timeless and easily legible. Unfortunately, these early letters lacked elegance and were not properly designed for typographic applications. Ever since its first publication in the 1930’s, several type foundries adopted the original designs for digital photocomposition. By early 2000, it became apparent that the existing DIN-based fonts did not fulfil the ever-increasing demand for a diverse set of weights and additional support for non-Latin languages. Parachute® was set out to fill this gap by introducing the PF DIN series which has become ever since the most comprehensive and sophisticated set of DIN typefaces. It was based on the original standards but was specifically designed to fit typographic requirements. Anca typeface started as a comission work for Fest Anca, an international animation festival. They needed something to complement the corporate identity of the festival. Inspiration came from a sketch made by my friend long time ago, which had a tremendous potential. As letters were digitized and the basic alphabet was completed, a very practical and universal typeface resulted. The whole type family has a playful and simple look with rounded stroke endings as well as long ascenders. The construction skeleton uses the minimum number of strokes and as a consequence, some original letter shapes (Q, w, j, &, A, §) were produced. Despite the fact that most letter shapes are based on geometry, some strokes are intentionally irregular, which creates a very natural feeling. Anca is appropriate for setting short paragraphs, headings and big inscriptions.

Beauchef is a sans serif typeface originally created to meet the needs of Centro de Modelamiento Matemático de la Universidad de Chile (University of Chile Center for Mathematical Modeling). Beauchef is a typeface with rough strokes that features subtle optical compensation and does not strictly follow the laws of perception. An original script font designed by Victor Kharyk and licensed by ParaType in 2006. Based on Ukrainian Skoropis (fast handwriting) of 16-17th centuries. The font was named after Ukrainian Getman Bogdan Khmelnitsky, because the main sources and inspirations for the project were taken from collection of handwriting Universals (decrees) of that time -- the middle of 17th century. The shape of letters imitates flat nib quill handwriting with stress, bringing them informal liveliness. The Bogdan font character set contains Cyrillic, Old Slavonic , Glagolitic, Latin and Greek alphabets in two variants: Rejestrowy (Regular) and Siczowy (Alternate). The font is for use in display typography, but can work quite well for short text setting. Bogdan type is well suited for historical and cultural texts associated with Europe of 15-17th centuries

Last year, she became the first woman to solo-illustrate a CONAN story, and this year she’s illustrating three issues of ELEPHANTMEN for Image Comics. Maribor is a slab serif font with nice shapes, they are both soft and angular. It is perceived calmly and with a twist. Maribor means "Mara`s pinery". The energy of the Universe, reflecting the modification, renewal and change for the better is called Mara; Ancient wise ancestors called it so. Today it is known as the goddess Mara in the Vedic worldview of the Slavic-Aryan peoples. A former lettering artist at Hallmark Cards, Rob Leuschke now has his own thriving design businesses, Alphabytes and the new TypeSETit. Arnold Therhoernen. (Arnoldus ther Hornen, Drucker des Dictys , Arnold ter Hoernen, Arnold ther Hoernen, Arnoldus TherHornen.) Who was this guy? He was a printer active in the city of Cologne, having graduating from the university there. He learned his craft under Ulrich Zell. He printed books from 1470 to 1482 when the plague carried him off. Was he just another printer of the era? No, he brought out the first edition of the "Fasciculus temporum'' (The most popular work by a living author at that time.) And he was the first to use both a title page and page numbers. His page numbers, an idea probably suggested to him by Werner Rolevinck, were interesting in that they were centered half way down the page on the outer margin and were set in Roman Numerals.

Barceloneta is a simple sans-serif font, with heavy bold and very characteristic soaring accents, referring to the shape of sharp towers in the building standing in the very center of Barcelona, designed by Gaudí - the Sagrada Familia. Most of the design work on the font also took place during the stay in the aforementioned city. There are a lot of narrow passages... like the Straits of Gibraltar, Hormuz, of Malacca, of Thermopylae, the Dardanelles, the Dervenakion, Magellan, Rentina of Naruto, Kerch etc. I tried to pass into mine closely with the name «Artios Pro". Walking on the same considerations as the previous series (Khamai/Aeolus/Corset) I tried to give some sense of diversity for narrow passages of the letters. These twelve style are the result.
