I named the font "Sangoma" after the traditional healers of the Southern African tribes. Sangomas often work by "throwing bones". The shapes of the bones have suggested the shapes of the characters in the Sangoma font. The font is useful for creating designs or producing text that has an African look. Typified by an African angularity the characters reflect the ethos of Africa. The Sangoma font contains the full range of upper and lower case characters, all punctuation and special characters as well as the accented characters used in the major European languages.

I, uh, don't know quite what to say. I'd toiled so long over Pumpkinseed back in '96 that I guess I needed a good, wild ride to shake out the head cramps, or something. Whatever grabbed me, it forced me to sit down and design a typeface real fast directly in Fontographer (had never done that before). Took less than two hours to finish the regular character set. No way to explain it, but the exercise actually paid off -- I think. And now that there was Speed Bump, there simply had to be a companion dingbat set. (Beats the heck out of me.) So check out Speed Bump's wacky character(s) and, if you're really bored, the 200-some-odd little pictures in Speed Bump Pi.

Signal1885 is the abbreviated name for "(Sig)nature Jour(nal)" a font that harkens back to an era, when fine handwriting filled journals with observations of science and adventure. Intimate and reflective of an individual entering his thoughts in his personal journal or a ship’s captain documenting his voyage on a daily basis. Signal1885 is penmanship that reflects hand forms from by-gone days. Its a minimal glyph set which can be used at various sizes as small as 18 points. My daily challenge is how to get my kids out of bed, feed them breakfast, get them to dress, wash and pack their school bags and drop them off at school before the bell rings. The rest of the day, the challenge is to renovate our house, get my work done, pick up the kids from school (plus all of their friends, who want to come and play) and cook dinner. Of course, the word ‘challenge’ was misused by the internet. Not too long ago, there seemed to be and endless stream of crazy challenges that ended up hurting or even killing a few people. Daily Challenge font is none of the above: it is a clean cut, 100% handmade, all caps font. The only challenge here is how to adapt your design so it fits this font perfectly… ;-)

Crillee is a family of our styles that was originally produced by Letraset. In 1980, Dick Jones designed Crillee Italic. Jones also designed the family's second style, Crillee Extra Bold Italic, in 1981. Peter O'Donnell designed Crillee Bold Italic in 1986. The fourth style, Crillee Italic Inline Shadow, was completed by Vince Whitlock. At the time of Crillee's development, Jones, O'Donnell, and Whitlock were all employees of the Letraset Type Studio. Crillee's slight lean to the right and geometric forms create a feeling of power and speed.
