Esm is a font that tries to convey the reinterpreted aesthetics of German and Swiss typography along with a new trend of unusual shapes. The font has a different approach to the internal elements of letters-ovals that have a straight line on one side, drawing the glyph "a" example. I wanted to diversify the font with different styles to avoid the effect of triviality of machine text. The font has a large language support and contains 626 characters. And a large number of special characters. The font family is universal. It is suitable for large text, magazines, posters, logos, and headlines. Thanks to 6 different font styles and customized kerning, the font will look just fine. The thin print is incredibly elegant. The regular is great for a large amount of text. And bold for posters and headlines. Named by the French feminine name Esm. The name itself has a meaning: dear and beloved. I hope my font will convey these feelings.

Rendering JNL was inspired by European-style plastic stencils which emulate the block lettering with rounded ends used for years by architectural draftspersons.

A small x-height typeface, originating with engravers near the start of the twentieth century, appearing in type in the 1923 ATF specimen.

RooneySans is a humanist sans-serif typeface, and the latest addition to the Rooney family. It shares the same attributes as its seriffed companion – softly rounded terminals and a moderate contrast, thoughtfully applied to classical sans-serif proportions. Although RooneySans was developed as a stand-alone typeface family, it combines well with Rooney since both typefaces share the same stem weights and an equal gray value. RooneySans is suitable for any task in branding and packaging design and gives long texts a warm and inviting feel. All six weights from Light to Black come with matching real italics.

Sardines is a project by Jacques Le Bailly aka Baron von Fonthausen. This original version is the one that saw the light as a monospaced font student project and which would eventually grow into Vette Letters’ largest font family (see VLNL Neue Sardines). Sardines is an eclectic mash of classic curves and mathematical measurements, leaving a very distinct typographic flavor. While most of our type is market-fresh, this one comes out of the can, but it’s delicious nonetheless. And it’s great for adventurous BBQ-ing!

BLT Balfour : Art Deco Revival Font Balfour is a modern Art Deco typeface revival. Built from historic references in architecture during this time period, Balfour exudes class and elegance, yet still honors the style with unapologetic bold geometric forms. Pay close attention to the letterforms B and R, and how their extreme x-heights play off of the elongated strokes of C, D and G. Sánchez, designed by Daniel Hernández, is a serif typeface belonging to the classification slab serif, or Egyptian, that bears a strong resemblance to the iconic Rockwell, but with rounded edges— offering contrast and balance to the square structure. Sánchez & Sánchez Condensed comprises 12 variants, ranging from extra light to black, each of the same x-height. Regular and Italic variants are available for free.

The most exciting new feature of DynaGotesk is the Vintage Italics stylistic set, which activates the decorative forms. It includes the looped "w", curved ascenders and descenders of many lowercase letters. These can significantly change the feel of a poster or invitation. DynaGrotesk may look like a revival of an old typeface, but it is not. It uses only some historical reminiscences, sharp edges and curved shapes, but it’s completely original design aimed at ease of use. The bigger the size, the more evident and pronounced are the spicy details. In smaller and even smallest sizes it’s appearance is qieter, very well suited even for long portions of text. DynaGrotesk was created in 1995 with the use of Multiple Master interpolation. But the MM fonts never achieved the desired application in industry, so designers returned back to single fonts. Over the following decades, the font was modified several times as an old house, and the present re-animation includes the Variable font format. Since its first release in the mid-nineties, it is widely used in all areas of graphic industry from small publishing to international corporate identity. The warm character of DynaGrotesk derives from early sans-serif typefaces, those which appeared before Helvetica. All 60 styles contain common OTF features like Small Caps, various sorts of figures, ligatures, Cyrillics, Greek, and full Latin diacritics. Perfect for branding systems and corporate identities, lettering, as well as cultural posters and catalogs.

The 1939 French publication “Modèles de lettres modernes par Georges Léculier” ( “Models of Modern Letters by Léculier”) presented some unique and stylized type designs with Art Deco influence. One such example is an abstract modular alphabet constructed of rectangles and circles. This is now available as Modular Deco JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

Pantano is a handmade grunge typeface inspired by the rustic style of Amazonia. This update adds more diacritics, alternate characters and more ligatures give a sensual and naturalistic touch to the written word. Designed by Luciano Vergara and LCF. Gikit is a very raw and quirky typeface structured according to a strict grid. The design is massive, with very little curve (just the dots and a few punctuation marks). A really stand out characteristic is Gikit’s accents that crush the forms. The type is drawn with 2 styles, for 2 uses: Tittle or Text.

On a huge garbage bin in Lisbon I saw the sentence, “Perdidos no kaos”, which means lost in chaos and I really liked the rough stenciled lettering. Evening Edition JNL pays tribute to the ever-decreasing line of daily newspapers in this country by emulating the "wood type" look of the headlines. Way before the Internet took over as a popular information source, it was the morning, afternoon or evening edition of a paper that presented the big story of the day.

Senko Hanabi (線香花火 - Japanese: incense-stick fireworks) is a type of Japanese sparkler. These traditional sparklers are said to evoke “mono no aware” - “an empathy toward things”; the flash of sadness when reminded of the fleeting nature of life. I am always a bit melancholic this time of the year, so when I created this font, I wanted to give it a suitable name. Senko Hanabi was made using a brush and Chinese ink. It is a beautiful font, which comes with stylistic alternates, discretionary ligatures and a sparkling amount of diacritics. Remains for me to wish you all a very happy new year. New Millennium Linear is one of three font families that share a common name, a common design philosophy, a common x-height, and basic character shapes. (The others are New Millennium and New Millennium Sans; all three work well together.) New Millennium Linear is a "monotone" newer version of the Sans face whose smooth, geometric, "Gothic" look gives it a completely different personality. The typeface comes with regular, bold, italic, and bold italic styles, each with a complete character set. New Millennium Linear might best be used in captions, callouts, labels, titles, and similar display situations.

A tessellation is a shape that can be used to completely fill the plane. Simple examples are isosceles triangles, squares, and hexagons. Tessellation patterns are eye-catching and visually appealing, which is the reason that they have long been popular in a variety of decorative situations. These Tessie fonts have two family members, a solid style that must have different colors when used and an outline style. They can be used separately or they can be used in layers with the outline style on top of the solid style. For rows to align properly, leading must be the same as point size. To see how patterns can be constructed, see the “Samples” file here. Shapes that tessellate and also resemble real-world objects are often called Escher-like tessellations. This typeface contains Escher-like tessellations of birds. Quite a few of them resemble swimming birds, but there are also some that resemble flying birds or birds in other positions. Most or all of these shapes were discovered/created by the font designer during the past twenty years in the process of designing maze books, coloring books, and a book about tessellations. (Earlier tessellation fonts from IngrimayneType, the TessieDingies fonts, lack a black or filled version so cannot do colored patterns. The addition of a solid style that must be colored makes these new fonts a bit more difficult to use but offers far greater possibilities in getting visually interesting results.)

The current design of "iogen" is a result of years of alterations since it's original concept was born in 2010 and it needed a hallmark to make it authentic. The idea of "a typeface speaking pleasantly" is the basis on which "iogen" is constructed. Hereby, the letter forms are based on sharp directional changes and curved vertical strokes, allowing it to speak clearly and pleasantly. The sharp corners, open apertures and open counters of iogen also ensure legibility in smaller sizes. The Iogen family has 6 members with 3 basic weights with sans and serif styles. It supports the Latin extended character set and opentype features like stylistic alternates, ligatures, fractions, denominators, numerators, superscript, subscript and ordinals. Iogen is a good fit for all of design needs with it’s wide range of character sets and features.

Since the 1800s, many patents were issued for methods to hold papers together. The two most popular and enduring tools still in use today are the stapler and the paper clip. In recent times a number of clips in novelty shapes have been available in just about every size, shape and color imaginable. Back in the beginning there were many variations as well, but the purpose of these design variants was to try and command the majority of sales in the fledgling market of bent wire clips by offering a unique and hopefully better product. Fastenating JNL contains twenty-five images based on those early clip designs as well as one classic paper fastener (on the Z and z keys). The standard gem clip has been the most enduring design and is well over one hundred years old.

Designed for a wide range of applications, Gentona was intended to support the goals of contemporary design paired with a mostly swiss oriented demand on typography – neutrality. The result is a nine-weight neo-grotesque family ranging from sharp and fine thin cuts to muscle-bound and strong heavy weights. Gentona’s confident and open shapes support legibility especially in small sizes while its alternative shapes and letterforms create flexibility. These four typefaces, Berlinette NB, Lyonette NB, Marseillette NB and Parisette NB, were designed from the same basic shape, a fanciful geometric form that avoids strict horizontals and uses more offbeat triangular shapes. Marseillette is the nasty one, with sharp hook terminations that require careful use. Don�t slip and accidentally stick one in your hand � it will hurt pretty bad and make you blubber like a baby. It�s good for surreal warning signs on dark, forbidding docks where gooey monsters live.

I really like this font, but it needed a lower case and some serious tweaking. Snappy Fingers is a fun, handwritten font. I (now) comes with fantastic language support and a new lease on life!

This dynamic athletic block has the need for speed. VT Gladius is a display typeface loaded with energy and ready to take off. Each letterform is built on a system of angles that generate a distinct rhythm, drawing the eye through the shape, making every word feel more dynamic. Over the years, I've used Impact a lot. But, not because I liked it—rather because it was the only font I could find with the bulk I needed for a given title or whatever. I finally decided to make my own. It was originally built off Librum Sans Bold, but I quickly made a mask of Impact for the widths, bumped the x-height way up, made the horizontals much heavier, and on and on. You know how it is when you start designing. The result is a black sans with the bulk of Impact and much more interesting character shapes. I suspect I'll use it a lot.
