Before the original sketches, I had imagined and dreamed this font was used for side characters of retro robot animations such as Gundam and Ideon. But the sketches were put in a PENDING folder. It was a few years ago. In the begining of 2011, I restarted working with the sketches to complete as a font file. Detail and some shape were improved retaining the original concept and they were completed, then named ‘Space Colony’. Just as the name implies, this wide and geometric font family consisting of six weights was designed targeting at use for futuristic product of game, movie, logo and so on. Not only that but the rounded shape makes a lovely, cute and soft impressions so this font is also suited for cartoons, animations and character merchandise too. The hand lettered credits from the 1942 British film comedy “The Goose Steps Out” became the model for Goose Creek JNL, a simple sans serif design available in both regular and oblique versions. According to the Internet Movie Database (imdb), “A bumbling teacher turns out to be the double of a German general. He is flown into Germany to impersonate the general and cause chaos and hilarity in a Hitler Youth college.” The title is a parody of the “goosestep” style of marching by German soldiers during World War II. As a variant on the movie’s title, the font was named for Goose Creek, South Carolina – a charming community just northeast of historic Charleston.

This is the companion sans family to make the Librum serif families work as well as they do. By companion, I do mean stylistically compatible. But mainly, they have the same vertical metrics. So they work very well for run-in heads, inline character styles, and all the rest of the needs in large books with complex formatting. They are designed for use in InDesign, and they work very well in that environment. The fonts use the same OpenType feature files as the rest of the Librum families. The feature files for the italic and bold are more limited—as I have rarely used things like that [over the past 20+ years]. The character shapes are a bit whimsical. The original ancestor of this book design sans was a very playful font I released as Aerle. It’s been calmed down a lot but is still loose and friendly. Rome Ionic is a serif display font inspired by architectural features in ancient Roman building columns. The Ionic columns are taller and slender compared to 'Doric and Corinthian' columns. On the Ionic Capitol column, there is a geometric spiral like a paper roll. We used those elements in this roman style font. The base of this font is serif shaped, more slender and towering, and equipped with 8-18 stylistic set alternates. This is the development of the basic shape on which we added spiral ornaments to the left and right. This serif font's characteristic is soft and simple, not sharp and complicated like Doric and Corinthian. The composition of the softness of the basic and alternate fonts does not reduce the splendor of this font. We complemented this font with support for the Latin extend as an analogy to the Roman region. Rome Ionic is perfect for 'impressive luxury and power' designs. With this font, your branding will show the robustness and refute the splendor of other products.

The idea was to create a typeface with a high black ratio that would work well in a compact style. The five styles of Vivala Black share similar metrics, so they can be easily substituted for each other in a body of text. OpenType features include ligatures, fractions, ordinals, numerators, denominators and stylistic alternates. Fields of application are posters, magazines, packaging, books, and corporate design.

Polke is a single weight display face brimming with style and charm but simultaneously exuding impressive core strength and a vibrant personality. Floating ball terminals rub shoulders with contrasting sharp and rounded letterforms to produce a distinctively decorative headline font built on robust foundations. Polke's name is derived from the striking terminal dots which dominate the character set, creating a Polka-Dot effect throughout. I also had the artist Sigmar Polke in mind which explains the spelling, and so the two ideas simply morphed together.

Bad Girl was designed to appeal to the young consumer and the young-at-heart. While clearly feminine, it manages to combine a charming naïveté with in-your-face rebelliousness. The awkward, rather self-involved character shapes have a definite gauche appeal. Bad Girl has a gamine-like insouciance with a touch of wickedness. In contrast to its naive appearance, Bad Girl has been carefully crafted, letterspaced and kerned and contains a full character set of 237 characters. The font comes in two styles, regular and light.
