Originally made for a health food store chain we cannot name, Pipa is the embodiment of organic display typography. Although it draws inspiration from some cold type ideas, like the uncredited Atlantis from VGC and a couple of older photo-lettering faces, its overall expression is right in line with what has become today's vernacular in integrity organic display packaging. Pipa's construct approaches the thick-and-thin idea from a rarely used perspective, where the flow in form contrast naturally seeps out from within each stroke, while minimizing the amount of strokes helps the totality of the setting come positively alive. This is bead and lava lamp psychedelia for the 21st century. Pipa comes with plenty of alternates, including some very cool unicase variations, and extended Latin language support.

French Bulldog was made to celebrate the unnoticed precious little moments. A hot coffee in the morning, the sea breeze on your face, the sweet smell of a flower, a nap with your dog, a meeting with friends, the tenderness of a maternal caress, traveling, walking, crying, sharing, feeling, being onesself. French Bulldog creates spontaneity from chaos with different shapes working randomly to form finesse or coarseness, just like a casual hand works a brush and tries to follow the rules with unpredictable results. PostScript fonts are constructed by connecting dots, dots that have special attributes that control the shape of the connecting lines. In designing Minimalist, I wanted to see how few dots could be used to construct each letter. This is the source of the name--it is (or was) a minimum-point alphabet. I did not expect much from it, and was surprised that it turned out as well as it did. Since I originally drew it, I have added some points to some of the letters to get them to generate proper bitmaps, so it no longer has minimum points.

Glyph Concept The Braille 2x3 dot matrix is weaved around a diamond-shape. a.1. Each "dot" is represented by a "right-angle isocel triangle". a.2. Braille dots in Diamond Braille a.2.I. "Dots" are outside the diamond for first Braille row (Braille dots 1, 4) and third Braille row (Braille dots 3, 6). a.2.II. "Dots" are inside the diamond for second Braillle row (Braille dots 2, 5). a.3. That’s what people call ‘an experimental typeface’. Yes it is! It consists in letterforms designed in very strict geometrical parameters. I was not thinking about ‘reading’ when I’ve drawn this typeface — rather on different way of projecting our mental image of the words. Do not try to set a book with this type, please! One single version, one single font designed in 2000.

A tessellation is a shape that can be used to completely fill the plane--simple examples are isosceles triangles, squares, and hexagons. The TessieDingie fonts contain tessellation shapes that can be used to construct tessellation patterns. The repeating unit, which may contain only one of the shapes or a several of the shapes, is on one key so making patterns is trivial with these fonts. Racetrack is the work of American type designer, Alex Kaczun, and was conceived as a result of developing a logo for a client. Alex was experimenting with a uniform grid pattern, outline and inline, connecting the dots which lead to this interesting typeface effect. Racetrack is a bold display font, which also works well at many point sizes. It has a futuristic appeal with straight lines and sharp corners. Moutarde is French for mustard. At home we don’t eat that much mustard, as it is a condiment that goes well with burgers and hotdogs. We eat Asian food a lot, so our hot sauce of choice usually is sambal. Moutarde is a good name for this fine, handmade font. Moutarde font is a rounded, easy to read, display font that comes with all the condiments - including a set of alternate a’s.

Polydot is an experimental Font, built following its own rules. It has interesting letter shapes, making it a perfect choice for creative packaging and magazine design. At the same time it makes a beautiful, neat but vivid text pattern when used in smaller sizes: Use it for children’s books, food and beverage, cosmetics or health topics. Each Glyph is based on at least one dot on the body line, and has up to two more on the lower case level and the ascender level. Since they have the same size and are on the same height on all letters, no matter what weight and shape, these dots give a strong structure to the typeface, allowing for dynamic and easy letter shapes, inspired by brush strokes. It’s not a hand font but it has the dynamics of one. It has no serifs but provides the structure and readability of a roman type. It has an extensive choice of weights, but it’s characteristic dots have the same size and it has the same tracking through all weights. Try it, it’s special.

Following rules, perhaps too closely. The first full font created by Ray Mullin who strongly believes a font need not be pretty to be valid. Each capital shares similar angles, as does each lowercase, making for a typeface only a mother could love. The rounded style was the true inspiration for the original, but logically it had to come second. Based entirely around Bong God but losing the harsh edges to become a usable futuristic type. Legible, but not readable, recommended in small doses.
