There's nothing really disastrous (impending or not) going on in my life right now, but I have always liked the expression. I thought about it when I watched a news item about the recent storm we had in Europe. The news showed footage of a person narrowly escaping a huge falling tree. Impending Disaster font is certainly no disaster. I created it using my fantastic Chinese ink and a broken tapas skewer (I seemed to have run out of my regular satay skewers). The result is a slightly rough, comic book kinda font. It comes with two sets of alternates for the lower case letters (which cycle as you type), one set of stylistic alternates for the 'O' glyph (and all accented O's), an alternate ampersand, asterisk, question mark and exclamation mark and a set of alternate numerals. Impending Disaster comes with extensive language support, including Vietnamese, Greek and Sami - so don't come running and say you didn't have any options! ;-)

Geller was created as a part of graduation project in Typowa Pracownia at Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. It is a typeface family especially intended for newspapers, magazines, and advertising. During the design process, the technical needs of certain typographic fractions were examined. Dear Dolores has had its name from the latin word dolorem, meaning sorrow or grief. When I started working on this display font I found myself trying it out using the latin requiem texts. The capitals somehow sat well with the monumental and solemn words of mourning. The broken hairlines suggested stone cuttings where the fine details had been worn down and obliterated over time and it felt at home in a churchyard or in a monument park. Adding lowercase gave the font a more personal and friendly appearance and opened up new possibilities for use. The name itself is a fictional message to someone long missed or perhaps lost too soon. Dear Dolores comes in a cut and an uncut version where the fine details are left intact. Both are excellent for headlines or memorable quotes.

ITC Drycut is the work of Vancouver-based designer Serge Pichii and gives a twist to the tradition of heavy, woodcut-like typefaces. The font includes all the realistic features of a true woodcut, sharp edges, white cut marks and black slivers. The slivers around the edges suggest traces left after awkward movements of a knife, which are often visible on old woodcuts...Folk artists often didn't care much about refining their carvings and the slivers would have been left as long as the letters remained readable." The lower case alphabet is actually small caps proportioned to match the capitals. The letters of ITC Drycut have a slight slant to the right which lends the font a dynamic character."

Neubau is a condensed geometric display typeface, designed in 2009. The inspiration for this face came from Joost Schmidt lowercase letters developed during 1925-28 in Bauhaus Dessau. Eyeballs was designed at Bitstream by designer David Robbins. Its beginnings can be found in Bitstream’s Old Dreadful No. 7, where Mr. Robbins first conceived the capital I.
