Tokoloshe is a name in African mythology for a mischievous leprechaun-like figure that loves practical jokes and tricking people. There are many books of such African stories, for example Tales of the Tokoloshe by Pieter Scholtz. The letter shapes that I used in the Tokoloshe font have inspiration from two sources: -- the spiky character of the font was derived from the wonderfully imaginative, wooden carvings of the Makonde people of beings called "shetani". The word "tokoloshe" is used by other tribes, but from his behaviour, he is certainly a type of shetani. -- some of the letter shapes were informed by Art Deco styles of fonts, for example: Kunjani, Black Tie SF, Selznick Normal, Zaire SF, Binner Gothic and ITC Anna. But the Tokoloshe font, like its namesake, is much more freespirited. Use this font whenever you want to suggest the rich artistic, cultural and spiritual heritage of Africa. The font is fully professional in terms of its character set. It contains over 235 characters - (upper and lower case characters, punctuation, numerals, symbols and accented characters are present). Trapper is so named because it exploits a typographic design mechanism known as ink traps purely for graphic effect. Ink traps are a device used by type designers to create significantly higher legibility under adverse printing conditions, especially when the intended use of the type is to be printed at small sizes on mediocre substrate. For Trapper the ink trap is overused for exaggerated visual effect. This gives the Round version a playful twisted balloons look while the Sharp has a stern mechanical default effect. Trapper is a versatile font family of 8 fonts -- Sharp and Round variations in regular and bold weights each with an accompanying oblique.

This font takes its name and the overall shape from modern bentwood furniture, namely Scandinavian designs since the 1940s. The curved corners of the letterforms are practically hyperbolic, to convey the tension and strength of the bent plywood. These curves are meant to appear more dynamic than circular or elliptical segments of traditional sans serif fonts. The letterforms are simplified, without extra corners, stems, connections or hooks, yet remain legible at any size. Tola is a modern, reversed-weight, experimental display font with a spirit of the 70s. Looks better in large sizes but in smaller thanks to the thick bottom makes also interesting effect. It’s based on my letter shape experiment. I was drawing one single letter in the hope to find interesting results. I started Tola font with the letter “G” and based on that shape I created the rest of the alphabet. Tola looks good in modern graphics. It contains uppercase, numbers, and some punctuation signs, and is multilingual. Perfect for logos, posters, and social media graphics that need a super superhero with a sentimental touch.
