Bannertype is – at least for my feeling – the most German of all fonts. It was used heavily mostly in newsprint and advertising in the early 1900s. I designed a dirty version of the narrow font in 4 stages of dirtiness, plus one free shadow font. Since the font has too many points I cannot generate a OTF-version, I am over the limit for that. But I have tried this TrueType version and it works like a jiffy in MacOS 10.8.2!

The script equivalent of the cool, header font. This font is essentially embedded, by its styling, in the 20th century. Inspired by fragments of some pre-20th century script fonts, I modernized it and added lower case characters. The result captures the cool elegance of the 1920s & 30s, yet also embodies the free optimism of the 60s. Aqua Casual is a fully professional font, carefully letterspaced and kerned. Steampipe is a font constructed of bits and pieces, reminiscent of the ironwork construction of the Crystal Palace or the inner workings of The Time Machine. Although it works fine as is, it comes alive with some Photoshop Layer Styles. Steampipe has the most extensive kerning of any font I've designed, just so (most) letters fit together as if they were constructed as a unit; use them in a program that supports special kerning.

There are many sans serif typefaces with calligraphic tendencies, but Suomi Sans is different: the outside forms are fairly basic, fairly narrow sans serif style, but the counter forms have a strong calligraphic flair with accented upper left and lower right hand corners. With six weights in Roman and italic, Suomi Sans works well for both headline and text use.
