Cosmata is geometric sans serif family of 10 fonts suitable for both display and reading use. Inspired by Futura, Cosmata developed its own complex, unique life. To that end, I've included alternate letterforms for a finely-tailored typographic experience. The rhythm, kerning, and spacing have been lovingly crafted for an elegant reading experience. A 1916 recruitment poster from World War I seeking men to join the Army’s Signal Corps provided the lettering inspiration for Recruitment JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Note is a fresh and dynamic hand writing font. Inspired by graffitti and street style writing, executed using a flat tip calligraphy pen. The typeface is hand drawn on paper, then the resulting alphabets and punctuation scanned in and rendered to create the font. Éric de Berranger likes to multitask, and often works on two typeface families at once. Such was the case with Mosquito, a jaunty sans that was developed at the same time he was creating the more traditional Maxime. Mosquito represented a sort of recreation," says de Berranger. "When I grew tired of working on one design I could work on the other and then come back to the first, full of courage and desire!" Mosquito is built from simple, straightforward shapes, but its distinctive stroke terminals and slight oblique weight stress distinguish the design from more conventional sans serif faces. The relatively large x-height and open counters add to the legibility of the design. The capitals are straightforward (with just a hint of Peignot), while the lowercase has a softer, more inviting demeanor. "I drew Mosquito with the hope that it would be pleasant to look at and to read," says de Berranger. "I think the end result is almost feminine." Dwiggins Uncial is based on calligraphy by William Addison Dwiggins that he created for a self-penned short story, which appeared as an insert in the book-arts publication The Dolphin in 1935. This self-described “experimental uncial” lettering features rather unusual treatments of letterforms which combine manuscript calligraphy with modern idiosyncrasies. Dwiggins Extras is a set of decorative extras features 62 stencil and woodblock motifs adapted from abstract and representational Dwiggins designs. Although Dwiggins illustrated a number of books using conventional media, he is best known for his method of illustration that uses a series of hand-cut celluloid stencils or what he called “machine ornaments.” With these stencils Dwiggins (and other designers who use his ornaments) build-up repeated motifs and patterns into abstract designs and/or representational images which have a look that is uniquely Dwiggins’ own. Unlike other illustrators, Dwiggins’ style has not been commonly imitated and therefore his style is as distinctive today as it was 70 years ago.

Willard T. Sniffin designed this extra condensed art deco typeface for American Type Founders in 1932. Low-waisted capital letters curve in stunning geometric fashion next to large, oversized lowercase letters. The heart of this classic design is undeniably 1930s but it also looks just fine in contemporary situations. Many of the original alternate characters plus a few new ones have been included in this complete digital version. Newport Classic with Alternates is also available as an OpenType font. This version now contains small caps, lining and oldstyle figures, prebuilt fractions, stylistic alternates, word ornaments and a wide assortment of f-ligatures. Cormac is a humanist typeface characterized with it's large x-height and slightly flared stems. The word that best describes our ideas in the beginning of the project is "simple" - the idea behind it was to strip the letter forms of everything unnecessary, and yet keep the typeface interesting. The typeface is friendly without being too cheezy thanks to its humanistic character, flared ascenders and stems reminding of its calligraphic origin. The proportions are closer to the traditional old style typefaces. Cormac is open and readable typeface coming in 7 weights plus their matching 'true' italics - from Extra Thin to Bold.
