This came from a shop near Munich, Germany, and was a very poor proof with no font name on it. Never did identify it. When we cleaned it up, we liked it pretty well. We think it is typical of some early twentieth century art nouveau fonts.

A very straight, geometric font which reminds me of the font on a display of a cash desk. Like most of the fonts at these display, this font is made up of a 6x10 matrix (capitals: 5x7). Hint: Insert Æ or ∂ to create a filled character (6x10).

Since I am still in a Japanese mood, I decided to name this font after my favourite pastime in Japan: hunting for the smallest, nicest sushi bar in town. After all, there’s just nothing like eating freshly made sushi and washing it all down with a cup of green tea or a warm sake. Sushi Bar is a very detailed brush font - all caps, but upper and lower case differ and can be mixed. It is an ideal font for posters, albums, headlines and book covers. Kanna Aoki was designing fabrics and dishware for several major manufacturers when she designed MVB Cafe Mimi. The design came from a few words Aoki painted as decoration for a set of cappuccino cups. Aoki created the Regular weight for MVB Fonts using a brush. The Bold was adapted after digitization. Using several double-letter ligatures, the fonts can feel as natural and spontaneous as the original hand-painted lettering. Despite its curlicues and free-flowing forms, great care was taken to keep this script balanced and legible. It skips and hops along the baseline but doesn't lose its step.

In the spirit of the old days, before water sparkled and before typefaces were known as fonts, Chank is proud to introduce Chippewa Falls the font. Inspired by handwritten roman lettering, Elisabeth maintains a classic antique appearance but its rough edges lend an air of character and charm. Good looks aside, Elisabeth is technologically up to today’s standards and works well in many applications. Use at larger sizes, headings, invitations, scrapbooking, menus and advertising.

Tall and narrow in stature, elegant by design and Art Deco in style, Deco Elongated JNL is a wonderful type design for setting long lines of copy in less space. The retro elements of this font conjure up images of fine fashions, fancy nightclubs and big band music…
