I, uh, don't know quite what to say. I'd toiled so long over Pumpkinseed back in '96 that I guess I needed a good, wild ride to shake out the head cramps, or something. Whatever grabbed me, it forced me to sit down and design a typeface real fast directly in Fontographer (had never done that before). Took less than two hours to finish the regular character set. No way to explain it, but the exercise actually paid off -- I think. And now that there was Speed Bump, there simply had to be a companion dingbat set. (Beats the heck out of me.) Sans-Skript is a display typeface that is inspired by Javanese Script (or Sanskerta in Bahasa Indonesia). Javanese script is one of Indonesia’s many traditional scripts that were commonly used by Javanese people from mid-15th CE to mid-20th CE. Though not commonly used anymore, it is still taught and used in cities across East and Central Java. Sans-Skript translates the high-contrast, modular and organic features of the Javanese Script into the Latin alphabet. (Hence the not-script naming) The typeface is aimed to be used for large format prints, above 100 pt, and can be used alongside Javanese script. Typefaces that pair nicely mimic features of Javanese script, and Hatton by Pangram Pangram Foundry is an example.

While uniqueness might be considered the main goal among type designers, our goal in this project was to be as far away from that uniqueness as possible. We designed MB Grotesk with strictest typography standards, holding fast to the type axioms long understood from the beginning of modern typography. After more than 600 hours of work — creation, production & release — the whole typeface family the MB Grotesk is a flawless branching away from the original Grotesque category. The Adinkra name, by legend, comes from the King who was conquered by the Ashante people of Ghana. The king, Adinkra, wore wonderful patterned fabrics. Adinkra means “goodbye,” and the symbols were reserved for funeral garments. Today the symbols are part of the Ghana popular culture and around the world. You will find the symbols on everything from housing, clothing, to tattoos. These 100 symbols are accompanied by the Ghana name, a loose translation and what the symbol has come to represent. The meanings and symbols are by no means the complete list and some people do not use the exact same translations and meaning as you will find here. These are for casual use and not historical or anthropologically completely accurate.

Breakers is a sans serif originally conceived to be a display typeface. Works great in text also, but the diversity in weights is its strong point. It is easy to achieve that high contrast using thin against the ultra weight, but setting tall and lean capitals against the compact and heavy small caps can make really diverse compositions for all kinds of display design. With small caps included, and over 600 glyphs in each weight, it should prove itself useful in finding the right combination for any typographic setting. »Supra« – designed by Gert Wiescher in 2012/13 – is a new sans typeface family of eight weights with matching italics. The light and normal weights and the dominant x-height with its high ascenders make for easy reading of long copy. The heavy and x-light weights are great for elegant headlines. Press Gothic is a revival of Aldo Novarese's Metropol typeface, released by Nebiolo in 1967 as a competitor to Stephenson Blake's Impact (designed by Goeffrey Lee). Though Metropol enjoyed a few short months of popularity and use in Italy, Germany and France, Impact won the technological outlasting battle by moving on to film type then to computer outlines bundled with mainstream software, while Metropol never made it past the metal state until now. Too bad really, since this is one of the few faces that could have played well with all the horrendous stretch'n'squeezing of the 1970s. Just like its inspiration, Press Gothic aims to be a fresh alternative to big economical poster fonts with clear sans serif forms and an urgent, strong, yet elegant design appeal. In the summer of 2008, Press Gothic underwent a major linguistic and aesthetic reworking for an international publishing company. The result of this on the retail side are new small capitals and biform/unicase additions to the main font, as well as expanded language support that includes Cyrillic, Greek, Turkish, Baltic, Central and Eastern European, Maltese, and Esperanto. Press Gothic Pro, the OpenType version, combines all three fonts into one, taking advantage of the small caps feature, and the stylistic alternate feature for the biform shapes.

Burford Rustic is the weathered and textured alternative to the Burford Family. It works the same way as Burford as a layer-based font family, but with some style variations and new layering options. With all ego aside, Romp was designed and influenced by my daughter, Angel. For some time now, she has wanted me to design a font based on her handwriting. But each time I sit down to do it, I run into more that she needs to do and redo. On a recent attempt, I ran into the same situation again. Arturo is a brand new font family drawn from the original inspiration of an old alphabet in one of Dan Solo 's Dover Clip Art books. It has moved far away from those raw roots, however. Every character has been redrawn. For example, I had a light version that I never could get working. Arturo is based on that light style and called Arturo Book. The name comes from a good friend of mine in El Paso. He was the guinea pig upon whom I foisted off the beginnings of this style so many years ago. I did several marketing pieces for him using the raw drawings. I figured that he deserved to have the family named after him, at the very least. This is a normal font family for me in that it has caps, lowercase, small caps with the appropriate figures for each case. This font has all the OpenType features in the set for 2009. There are several ligatures for your fun and enjoyment: bb gg ff fi fl ffi ffl ffy fj ft tt ty Wh Th and more. Locarno is the work of British designer Alan Meeks and is his adaptation of Rudolf Koch's original design for the Klingspor type foundry. The unique design of the roman weight features geneous capitals and a reserved lowercase. The italic capitals have an open, engraved decoration that combines perfectly with the lowercase with its tall, elegant ascenders. Locarno is a typeface with the sophisticated look of the 1920s and 30s.

Inspired by a piece of cigarette pack lettering designed by the renowned poster and type designer A.M. Ainabee is an Art Deco inspired type design. The designer states: "The Art deco period has always fascinated me. The Architecture, The Furniture, The Car Industry, Letters etc, much of what I associate with 20s and 30s. This design is my answer to this fascination. The name is a tribute to my girlfriend Aina." The design is simple and precise in its form and is intended mainly for decorative use.

Monotalic was created as a fun experiment, exploring better solutions for the monospaced type design. Most monospaced (fixed-width) typefaces have the same main design problem regarding the lowercase – filling the empty space around l, f, i, j and r. That usually brings the addition of slab serifs to those narrow characters, causing many monospaced fonts to look and feel alike. Monotalic solves that problem by adopting the handwritten (or cursive) form for those problematic characters, which allows them to be defined in more strokes, thus getting a better distribution of form in that fixed-width space. On the other hand, cursive writing usually lacks the legibility of a Roman (Regular upright) style, so Monotalic was created to be a hybrid, taking the best of both worlds. Monospaced fonts today are mostly used for coding. Modern code editors use colored text in order to differentiate between different kinds of code. So, in that environment there’s actually no need for traditional text styling by adding Italics, Bold or other styles, because the code lines are overstated as it is. That is why Monotalic focuses on one style only, in three widths and four weights. The weights allow users to choose the perfect contrast of text on screen, depending on their monitor resolution and background color in the editor. Movie scripts are almost exclusively set in 12pt Courier. It became the industry standard because when set in the specific “screenplay format" it helps with the breakdown of the schedule and budgeting process of the film production. Although it looks completely different, text set in Monotalic (Normal width) will take the same amount of space as Courier.

Night Train is a new font built from the ground up; while Night Train may resemble an old classic wood type there are a few lines that make this font a little more modern setting it apart from other wood type revivals. If you're a railroad enthusiast you're sure to enjoy the steam locomotive graphic located on the less than and greater than keys on all versions of this font, due to the fine detail of this train illustration the best printing results will be at 600dpi or higher on a laser printer. The Night Train name has been on my list to use as a font name for a few years, a friend from years ago used to sail his boat in the Mackinac race from Chicago to Mackinac Island, the name of that boat was the Night Train. Watching the 2010 Olympic four man U.S. bobsled team win gold with their sled also called Night Train has inspired me to complete this font.

Welcome Deportivo - Spanish for sporty. Deportivo is a simple and powerful typeface based on the lettering on vintage sports equipment.
