Inspired by the Inland Type Foundry's 1901 design "Hearst," (which was a copy of a design by Frederick Goudy... The story behind this font and its naming can be found in the Hand-Picked Links below), this rustic font makes an excellent companion to P22 Arts and Crafts.

Patrick Griffin's sister is a really annoying individual sometimes. Not only is she into theater, but she thinks everyone else in the universe is into it as well. So once in a while tickets to local or provincial Shakespearean plays get delivered to the mailbox or dropped off on the living room's table. And once in a while the tickets just cannot be "lost" or ignored. Three or four times a year, Patrick must be subjected to Olde Englishe Speake, umbrella dresses and squeezetops, featherhats and men in leggings, rhyme and treason, mortality and immorality, drama inflicted by some mama, and it never ends. Last June it was Hamlet. Again. Someone's (wink wink) idea of a good time. There he goes, the Prince of Denmark, holding that skull with the tips of his fingers like it's an alien egg. Alas, poor Yorick! Yadda yadda boop-bop-a-loo-bop. And so the idea of a font made of skulls was born. And what can we possibly be but conduits for such abhorring ideas? Where be our gibes, our songs, our flashes of merriment? Skullbats has more skulls than you'll ever see in your lifetime. At least we hope so. Scary skulls, funny skulls, evil skulls, strange skulls, pixel skulls, fiery skulls, surprised skulls, happy skulls, sad skulls, cow skulls, sketched skulls, profiled skulls, light bulb skulls, cartoon skulls, techno skulls, alien skulls, expressionist skulls, pirate skulls, horned skulls, and skulls with whacky headgear. You name it, it's there. There's even a disco skull there for you. We lost count at 90 skulls, but there's a few more in there. After making this font, he couldn't help but notice that her skull was a bit small compared to his. So now he takes every opportunity to remind her that the size of the cranium is relative to what it houses. Her upcoming halloween present will be a shirt with guess-what on it. Shirts, now there's putting Skullbats to good use!

Delightful is a whimsical and cheerful handwritten font family of varying weights and widths. This typeface is like if Comic Sans had a cousin who studied abroad one summer and now wears scarves to look more grown up, even though inside she's still the same, sweet marshmallow she always was. The letters were inspired by my handwriting on a good day - slowed down, legible, and intentionally drawn. I even threw in some of my favorite doodles as alt characters because the set wouldn't be complete without them. And the name was inspired purely by how it feels when I see it - and by my word of the year, delight. Delightful is ideal for anyone who wants to include a bit more warmth and a personal touch with their messaging. It's friendly and non-threatening, and will enhance personal projects or professional ones alike - whether you're a designer, an Instagram influencer, or you need to create some flyers for the local Mom 'n Pop Shop. There are two versions of this font. The original style is slightly more rounded and gets chubbier as you increase its boldness, and the stretched style is like a condensed version, except it's been stretched taller rather than squished narrower. I hope you delight in it as much as I do!

Colmena studio presents Chula, a geometric typeface 100% original, traced in the beginning by hand, chula is not based in any other typeface, each glyph was drawn in base of circles and rectangles, the tail of certain glyphs gives to the typeface and designs fluency and movement. Chula is fresh and modern but with a little touch of vintage, ideal for big texts and formats, but also legible in small size. You can use it in 3 versions, regular, medium full and full. It works perfectly in logos, monograms and patterns.

Bold, rounded and super cool. Those are the attributes of my latest font “Vinyle”, french for vinyl. In this epoque where all fields of Design are giving a lot of importance and attention to Typography and Lettering, I felt it was my duty to contribute with something that could really stand alone and ‘say something else’ that just words to be read. I've found that lately in the world, regarding a finished piece of design, the role of Typography (and of letters in general) went from being secondary, (like a minor player or a supporting actor) to the most important one. People are starting to understand the beauty of a well-done letter: they want their storefronts with unique scripts, they want to drink coffee surrounded by lettered blackboards, they want to buy books with astonishing covers with swashes ‘por doquier’. I'm more than happy to be alive in a present where even the most unimaginable friends of mine, (who couldn't spot differences between comic sans and helvetica before) are now conscious of the importance of a letter, or let’s say: Of the ‘voice’ of Typography. With Vinyle I tried to make a font with power. Following the nowadays trend of, let me say, “the vintage sans renaissance”. This time I put my brushes and nibs aside and experimented with something new. It wasn't easy, if you will pardon, for me to see swashes all over the place withouth the classic calligraphic ‘thick and thins’, but with after some weeks of work I started to love them. Like I already showed you in other creations (1) let me finish with the phrase: GEOMETRY IS SEXY! TIPS Vinyle has a lot of attitude, it shouts “here I am!” it really can ‘design an entire piece’ for you with just a word or two: It was designed with a 10 degree slant on purpose so the user may rotate it (like on the posters) that amount of degrees in order to see better results. Since 2010 I started my research and experimentation in layered fonts, and I immediately understood that the future of creative graphic fonts is precisely the exploration of it. Over the years I have tried different expressions on the use of the layered system ... but I realized that my propensity to use colors in the font led me to the creation of BILYA. The real creative cue of BILYA is the wonderful childhood memories where nostalgia for them generated the creation of it, which I dedicate to all lovers of glass marbles classic game and beyond. BILYA Base, Outline, Color One, Two, Three, Four, Five and Color Six is a 8 font system that can be layered in different ways to create infinite title effects used commonly in poster and logo design, in flat gradient color style for spectacular 3D emboss styles or realistic 3D logos design projects. Kamerik 205 is inspired by the classic, geometric sans-serifs such as Futura and Avant Garde, but has shallower ascenders and descenders for a more compact look, and features a traditional double-storey lower case a and g. It's a versatile, modern sans, highly legible as a text font and with a clean, elegant look as a display font at larger sizes. It includes old style non-aligning (lower case) numbers, both proportional and tabular as well as accented characters for Central European languages. The Kamerik 205 family comprises of six weights, and is closely related to Kamerik 105. The most notable differences between the two variations, are the two-storey lower case a and g in Kamerik 205, where they are single-storey in Kamerik 105.

Cowboy Burt was once a cowboy, but now he's a carnie at who runs the tilt-a -whirl. This hand drawn font was designed for use in a skate-punk layout, but will be quite at home in the old west, the circus, or underground cartoons. There are two versions Regular, and Extrude which work together or apart. There are even some goofy dingbats scatter throughout. You'll have hours of fun with Cowboy Burt...Where's my waitress?

Borrowdale is a valley and civil parish in the English Lake District. In the 16th century a major deposit of graphite was discovered near Seathwaite, which kickstarted the pencil industry. Borrowdale font was made with one of my son's coloring pencils (which probably does not contain a single molecule of graphite). It is a very legible and easy-on-the-eye font, ideal for children's books, texts and product packaging. Comes with a mother lode of diacritics.

The Pommes font originates from my mid seventies potato punchcuttings at artschool. Since I’m living in a potato republic (NE of the province of Groningen) I got inspired to continue. I prepared this culinary alphabet as a tribute to this wonderful allround vegetable. Belgian and French recipies helped me in selecting and cutting/cooking the 6 styles. The Pommes-Dauphine Ultra Heavy (too much eggs added) can be used as a layer behind the Pommes-Dauphine.

So when I decided on this version of my good old Royal Bavarian, I decided to call the new font "Monkeytails". I just fell in love with this name. Rivets is a result of my fascination with the beauty I find in utilitarian industrial objects like the decorative ironwork in Grand Central terminal and the eloquent construction details of the urban infrastructure of the 19th and early 20th century. It began as die-raised typography for a magazine cover, developed further for a book about mid-20th century American manufacturing and evolved into a complete font plus four individual components suitable for producing multiple color variations.

This crisp and constructed Ludwig Wagner, Leipzig, blackletter font in textura style had been originally designed by Berthold Wolpe. Freshly redrawn and redesigned, it adds now to the treasure trove of historic typefaces. This font contains a bunch of useful ligatures, and it is recommended to activate Discretionary Ligatures too. By typing 'N', 'o' and period plus activating Ordinals you get an oldstyle numbersign. As usual in my blackletter fonts, the # key is occupied by the 'round' s.

Spring is in the air! At least, where I live. My two pear trees are in bloom, bees are buzzing and everything turns a brighter shade of green. Time for a new and fresh font package with a spring-inspired name! Springwood is a handmade set of fonts, ranging from a fat display font to a messy script font. Use it for your freshest ideas, your coolest designs or just anything that needs a bit of springtime.

Euroque is the 23rd font family from Cozyfonts Foundry, a California Foundry established in 2012 by designer and typographic illustrator Tom Nikosey Euroque began with pencil sketches, as all my fonts trace their beginnings. Influenced by European poster art of the 1920s and 1930s Euroque takes its name almost literally, European Style. These fonts are designed as a Small Caps Family, where the lower case mirrors the Upper case in design but its weights are compatible and consistent.

Mexican Pattern is my vision of classic Mexican style with colorful and ornate pattern. Mexican patterns appeared as a result of the fusion of two cultures. Aztec and Mayan heritage mingled with Spanish traditions in bright colors. I love riding English double decker buses! I haven’t been on one lately, but for some reason I had an image of a red double decker bus in my head when I made this font. Doubledecker is a bold, cartoon-like, handmade font. It comes in regular and dots, plus a bonus doodle font called Doubledecker Stuff. Use it for any design that needs a tad of loud, a pinch of unusual and a wee bit of polka.

Salacious is my soft/rough all-caps font, inspired by both comics and grafitti. The weight and width of the letters varies a bit. Not in a disturbing way, but more in a lively and organic way. I've added 5 (slightly) different versions of each letter (which automatically cycles as you type!) The letter shapes are a bit rough, due to the fact that they are handmade, and all corners are rounded, which gives a nice soft look!

I was playing around with an old brush I found in our kitchen: it had fallen under the stove and it had probably been hiding there for quite some time! I dusted it off, got my Chinese ink and set to work. The result is a scary-ish font. Mortal Coil comes with discretionary ligatures for double lower case letter combinations.

A colorful floral book that I found at a flea market inspired me to make the font Herbarium. What started as floral letter illustrations in 2009 has now developed into a writable font. My main intention was to make each letter like a little artwork so that they all could fit as a drop cap. Herbarium is also a good choice for headlines.
