Banret is built using simple geometric shapes. It is mostly the result of my experiments on the other font I made earlier in 2016, called Inventor. Font is inspired by old fonts of the beginning of the 20th century. Capital letters are built with one to four proportions. The font has four weights: normal, and bold, and two alternatives: ribbon, and flag. As far as it is a decorative font, it is not designed for large amounts of text. But it is perfect for creating branding elements, logos, slogans and posters.

I admit: I had a bit of a crazy week when I thought up an drew this font. I broke my arm during kickboxing training on monday, leaving me in a cast - unable to do most everyday things, like getting a good night's sleep (try sleeping with a humongous cast on your arm). Thank goodness, it is my left arm, so I can still draw letters and use my laptop. So… this font has been made entirely using one arm! It is a bit of a horror font - it sort of sums up my mood right now. Glyphs have very little spacing, adding to the evil look of Plague Master. Comes with a lethal amount of diacritics.

Tatty is a sans serif, monoline font that is distinguished by the gentle, rounded, backward curves on the ascenders. I created it because I had a picture in my mind of a font that I wanted to use when designing images and logos for clients' websites but I could never find one that was just exactly right. Many years ago I worked for a sign-writing company. My job was to copy and enlarge letter sets from printed copy and then cut masks for airbrushing. One morning I arrived at my desk to find that the airbrush artist had written on a rough, rubbed out, scribbled on drawing of the letter ‘a’ - “make a letter happy, make it beautiful”. That was the brief I set myself in the design of Tatty - to make every letter happy and beautiful. The result is a flowing, elegant yet simple type which I believe works particularly well for poetry.

Inspired by the strange, blocky lettering on the sides of a set of a set of plastic kitchen containers in my childhood home, 8th Avenue is a sophisticated, somewhat syncopated font with a retro look and feel that at the same time brings a very modern attitude to your design. 8th Avenue works well as display font for packaging, headlines and logos. Those pastel turquoise plastic boxes from the early 1950s, with white screen printed letters reading FLOUR, SUGAR, COFFEE etc. on one side were a simple quiet presence in our home back then and for decades after. Seeing them, even that soft blue-green colour felt like home. SUGAR, the soul survivor of that set has become one of those mundane items of daily life that somehow become simple icons of another time, ripe with memories. Obviously I had to make a font. Georgia was originally designed in 1996 by Matthew Carter and hand-tuned for the screen by Tom Rickner. The Georgia family received a major update in 2011 by Monotype Imaging, The Font Bureau and Matthew Carter. Georgia is the serif companion to the sans serif screen font, Verdana. It was designed specifically to address the challenges of on-screen display with elegant yet sturdy and open forms.
