Horndon is a decorative revival of late art nouveau style typefaces. The robust, high waist forms of these letters lend a unique, early 20th Century feeling of optimism to text designed with them. The letterforms themselves have adapted a three dimensional appearance: they each sport an individual drop shadow. Horndon is an all caps typeface, which was originally designed in 1984 by Martin Wait for Letraset. A similar art nouveau typeface, Galadriel, is also available from Linotype."

The lettering style of Location JNL is based on sets of "vintage" metal house identification letters and numbers seen for sale online. As these sets are available from overseas sources, it's not clear whether those metal characters are cast from original vintage dies that have been used for years or just designed to look like a vintage style of lettering. Nonetheless, they make for a great digital interpretation and the design is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Dolsáb was designed from scratch with uniqueness in mind. The subtle movement from thick to thin and the variants of sharp to rounded make this cutting edge san serif a must have. The inspiration for Dolsab was a simple pairing of a rhombus and calligraphy. While neither of those two elements can be seen in their entirety in any instance, the influence of both is strong. The rhombus can be notice on most ascenders like on the lowercase t & l, for example. And the calligraphy inspiration is most easily captured on the descenders such as the lowercase y & g. The most beautiful characteristics of Dolsab is definitely the calligraphy-influenced movement. These features really stand out on the lowercase a & e. It's almost amusing to let your eye follow the contours of those two letter forms as they travel from thick to thin, sharp to rounded and back again. Users are welcomed to try all font styles of Dolsab in any applique of their choosing. However, it will be quickly noticeable that only Dolsab Air & Demi (the thiner of the styles) will be best suited for body copy. Personally I like to see these letterforms as large as they can be to really showcase the subtle movement, especially in Dolsab Heavy where these movements become much more dramatic. You'll never know what really works best unless you experiment. Dolsab surely isn't the answer to all projects, but it's certainly worth trying. No other typeface moves quite like Dolsáb.

When designing a typeface, one has to be conscious of superfluous details. Although I am always tempted to add little personal touches, experience taught me that the phrase -less is more- is totally true. In Model, the letters (like models do) participated of a contest: An event in which models engage in competition against each other, often for a prize or similar incentive. The prize was staying in the font! yay! Tall, delicate, refined, the right amount of elegancy: These were some of the aspects to be chosen. Typographically speaking, these things were achieved thanks to a tall x-height (which leaded the font to be somehow condensed), a subtle contrast between thicks and thins, and just the right amount of decorative swirls. The result is a nice script that can be used in magazines, invitations, posters, book-covers and works very well when used over photographs. Get Model and let it be the star of the catwalk. STYLES Model Pro and Model Small Pro are the most complete styles of the font. Both have all the ligatures and decorative glyphs seen in posters above (OT programmed). Model Std One, Std Two and Std Three are reduced versions of Pro. This means they have less glyphs inside. TIP If you are planning to print the font in small sizes, it’s highly recommended to purchase Model Small Pro. Its thins are thicker so they will be better printed.

I have made this font properly monospaced (all characters are the same width) as that is how an old typewriter worked. In addition to correcting and expanding the character set, of course. Buddy is the new companion sans for Contenu, the book font family designed for my book on font design design. Originally, I called it Compagnon, but that seemed to pompous. Then I called it Aide, but that was too formal and dry. It's a loose, free, easy to read sans, so when my wife suggested Buddy, it clicked. This is the 4-font Buddy family of Regular, Italic, Bold, & Bold Italic. I made a new, more limited feature set for these fonts due to their designed usage, but there are still small caps, small cap figures, oldstyle figures, numerators, and denominators. The bold is closer to a black, and the italics are only slightly slanted obliques. If you need a strong black in caps, use the small caps of the bold.

Applbitz is a set of three pixel style fonts which include a matching set of food related pix fonts. The regular style is a text font, which is optimal at 14 points when used in flash. Applbitz Pix Base and Pix Top are corresponding food related glyphs, with the top providing a bit of detail. Modern style created as a result of my experiments on letterforms, on the one hand I like the appearance of the individual curved lines, on the other hand they seem very strange, foreign and illogical. It was like looking into a microscope and seeing something strange. I wanted to develop and study these forms as something new, because I had never seen anything similar before. The result is a contrasting font that has sharp, smooth curves and lines.
