Soleil, designed by Wolfgang Homola, is a geometric sans serif typeface. Unlike most existing geometric sans serif typefaces, it has asymmetrical counters, making it look fresher, more dynamic and more contemporary. Simple geometric forms – such as the circle or the square – played a certain role in the design of the letterforms, but in order to introduce more fluidity into the rather stiff and rigid concept of geometric sans serif typefaces, a lot of optical corrections were necessary. Soleil is based on the modernist ideas of simplicity, clarity and reduction to essential forms. Yet its letter shapes are not the result of geometric construction, but of a design process that brings together simplicity and fluidity, clarity and rhythm. Soleil has a rather large x-height, making it legible also in small sizes or from a bigger distance. The typeface family consists of six weights. The Opentype version also allows for the implementation of typographic features such as Small Caps, lining and old-style figures, both tabular and proportional, ligatures, alternate characters, case-sensitive variants and fractions. Maracay is a tropical typeface that works for texts or headlines, mainly as a display font and designed to work in layers of overlapping texts. Salome is a revival, normalization and elaborate expansion of a 1972 film face called Cantini. The original film type, released by a tiny independent outfit called Letter Graphics, looked like it was hand drawn with little consideration for consistency in essential lettering flow measurements, like angles, stroke widths, and vertical metrics. All these issues have been resolved in this digital version, and the original character set, including the whole lot of alternates, was entirely redrawn and expanded to include even more alternates and many useful ligatures, as well as extended support for Latin-based languages. Combining elements of early 20th century art nouveau with common 1960s and 1970s signage and poster lettering flair, Salome uses curls and curves to wave its fantastic shapes in a most hypnotic dance. Salome simply cannot be unseen. Just like its namesake, the female seduction icon, it does not hesitate to put all of its natural beauty and energy on display in order to get what it wants. Salome comes in all popular font formats. The OpenType version, Salome Pro, combines the main font with the alternates one, and contains convenient features for push-button alternation and ligature substitution in supporting software programs.

Filigree, reminiscent of the delicate lace and jewelry produced in Europe in the 16th to 18th centuries, was inspired by the font Always, and by the way in which the threads (or filia) of the characters in Always intertwined. It has a soft, wafty character. It is best used as a display font at a relatively large size. At too small a size the delicacy of the individual filaments will be lost. Best results also from a combination of upper and lower case characters. Using upper case characters alone will not look as good. Alternate characters and ligatures are also included. If your application program supports "kerning" then I suggest that you turn it on. Although not essential, this will enhance the spacing of the letters. The font contains over 272 characters - (upper and lower case characters, punctuation, numerals, symbols and accented characters are present). It also includes a number of "open-type" characters - these enhance the flexibility of the font by providing alternatives that are used either at the discretion of the designer or are determined by the circumstances in which the font is used. It has all the accented characters used in the major European languages.

As soon as my taxi driver took the bustling street Entre Ríos, it was clear that the city and I were going to be good friends. Many of the independently owned businesses on Entre Ríos are adorned with handmade signage. These signs are painted in a style called Fileteado which is a century-old Argentinian type of lettering and floral ornamentation. Nowadays, Fileteado is still a prominent part of the city’s landscape, coloring the façades of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Calaveras and Diablitos are two new typefaces that were inspired by Fileteado. Stylistically, the fonts are a return to a rhythmic and playful sensibility reminiscent of Vitrina and Cuba, two fonts that I designed in 1996. Graphit is a typeface designed by Lit Design Studio & curated by HvD Fonts. It combines clear, geometric shapes with edgy yet finely-crafted details. Graphit features uncompromising characters such as G, Q, f, k and 1. It works well both for impactful headlines and for reading sizes. The type family consists of six weights plus matching italics. In early 2018, Livius Dietzel & Tom Hoßfeld started developing the typeface’s essential character and released a free font named after the studio, Lit. Just a few months later, Hannes von Döhren had a look at the typeface and suggested expanding it into a family – then publishing it with HvD Fonts. Last Dance: Redux - The 80s Feel-Good Script Font - Updated! Welcome to Last Dance: Redux, a new and improved version of my popular brush-script font inspired by 80s movie posters, VHS covers and Friday nights at the video store! This hand-drawn script aims to capture the feel-good vibes of movie blockbusters that won our teenage imaginations, while serving as the go-to font for recreating this unique and nostalgic period. The original Last Dance font features a gritty, hand-drawn texture that looks equally at home on an aerobics competition poster or steamy urban thriller - making great titles that look distinctly cinematic. Last Dance: Redux takes that original design and strips it back to it’s bare essentials resulting in a clean, uniform look that improves letter flow and readability. King Tut is a restoration and expansion of the original Egyptian Expanded, a single bold face cut in 1850 by Miller & Richard, the famous Edinburgh founders. This aesthetic, though originally issued to help drive simple print advertising of those days, is perhaps the longest lasting genre of typeface. This aesthetic flourished in the later part of the 19th century, helped by the surge of similar faces from England (such as Figgins' Antique 6 and Expanded Antique), and became the defining index of the old American wild west that continues to this very day. King Tut serves up its impact through a balance between the wide, compact letterforms and elegant curvature that manages to come through even in confined areas. The family's weight variety allows for more options in counterspace use as well as precision in the amount of curve definition and contrast needed by the typographer. The lighter weights completely oppose that 19th century boldness and expose the alphabet's skeleton in a strive for simplicity that fits modern applications. With generous language support to boot, King Tut's diverse offerings make it an essential addition to today's designer repertoire.

This Arabic typeface is one of Parachute’s most involved text typefaces. For the first time -back in 2010- a contemporary Arabic equivalent to a comprehensive DIN series of fonts was available. In fact, this set of fonts contains the most complete and powerful array of Arabic features commercially today. It comes in eight weights and includes Latin. Based on the DIN Text Pro superfamily, Parachute® released -in collaboration with designer Hasan Abu Afash- 2 new versions. DIN Text Arabic is the basic Arabic version which includes Latin and supports all variations of the Arabic script such as Persian, Urdu and Pashto. Das Grotesk was inspired by earlier nineteenth-century grotesques, but it is much more related to American gothic designs such as those by M.F. Benton. Due to their pure geometric structure, most grotesque typefaces tend to have a rather monotonous and lifeless appearance, thus failing to express the ideals of the modern creed. Das Grotesk on the other hand is a lively design with several distinguishable characteristics which attract attention when set at large sizes, whilst they become subtle and blend evenly at small sizes, fostering a neutral identity. This is a very legible and space-saving typeface with a narrow structure. It was designed with slanted curved ends and sheared terminals applied on several straight strokes. It has two-storey ‘a’ and ‘g’ but includes single-storey alternates. The family consists of 14 weights ranging from Extra Thin to Black (including true-italics). It provides simultaneous support for Latin, Cyrillic and Greek and is loaded with several advanced typographic features such as small caps. The Slatz Font Family is Vertical. It has a slender, consistent weight that is best used in limited, left to Right, space limitations as to maximize font height. Slatz font variations all have extremely clean edges and even the serif versions are crisply defined with a flat-pointed serif for an added unique character. The designed intent was for a tight kern, however evenly letterspacing these family members give a distinct personality and continues to command the negative space just as in tight kerned examples. The compatible relationship of these font family members, serif to sans serif, and regular to italic is seamless and the overall design coloring of words as sentences is well balanced and extremely legible. The Slatz Family fonts are matching members glyph to glyph yet there is a noticeable difference between the serif and sans serif members. The sans serif works in contemporary and vintage settings. The serif members work particularly well in vintage, period applications. The Bold and Drop versions of Slatz also fit the above descriptions and also work on their own.

The starting point for VLNL Kouseband was spotted by Donald DBXL Beekman on the Christian Reformed Church in the Dutch town of Naarden. The iron wire lettering contained a number of unusual characters and details, which eventually led to this five weight family. The Kouseband fonts mix elements of geometric sans serifs and upright unconnected scripts, with a hint of Dutch school writing. VLNL Kouseband is monolinear and has an very large cap height compared to the (lowercase) x-height, giving the capital letters an elongated condensed appearance. Kouseband is the Dutch word for ‘garter (belt)’ and also gave the name to a long tropical bean known as Yardlong bean. Kouseband beans are a common ingredient in Roti and other Surinamese dishes. As the Dutch Christian church is sometimes referred to as ‘Zwarte kousenkerk’ (Black stocking church), and stockings are held up by garter belts, we have come full circle and VLNL Kouseband has a name. VLNL Kouseband contains a set of oldstyle numbers matching the lowercase letters, and a couple of wider alternate capitals (HMNOQ) to enhance the liveliness of your designs.

Giambattista Bodoni (1740–1813) was called the King of Printers and the Bodoni font owes its creation in 1767 to his masterful cutting techniques. Predecessors in a similar style were the typefaces of Pierre Simon Fournier (1712–1768) and the Didot family (1689–1836). The Bodoni font distinguishes itself through the strength of its characters and embodies the rational thinking of the Enlightenment. The new typefaces displaced the Old Face and Transitional styles and was the most popular typeface until the mid-19th century. Bodoni’s influence on typography was dominant until the end of the 19th century and even today inspires new creations. Working with this font requires care, as the strong emphasis of the vertical strokes and the marked contrast between the fine and thick lines lessens Bodoni’s legibility, and the font is therefore better in larger print with generous spacing. Chauncey H. Griffith’s Poster Bodoni displays characteristics of the advertisement fonts of the first half of the 20th century. The font was most often used for posters and signs, eventually including neon signs.

Ragazza Script isn’t just another display typeface. It honors the greatest handwriting skills but in a different way. Although It doesn't represent any traditional calligraphy style, it is still part of that expressive world. With more than 1000 glyphs, and taking advantage of the Opentype features, Ragazza is full of personality. When in use, it gives a feel very close to ornamental Copperplate mixed with some kind of modern 'high-contrast' typeface. Lots of alternates, swashes and initial capitals are the spine of this face, assuring almost infinite combination possibilities. The early forms that would eventually lead to what Ragazza is today, began as a college project –around 2006– in the context of the 'Hyperfuente' exercise developed during Typography 2, chair E. Longinotti, at the University of Buenos Aires. But that seed would never stop growing. Since then a lot of work had been made to take that initial project to a professional quality level. Ragazza Script is perfect for headlines and short phrases. It is the brand new modern script, designed by Guille Vizzari and published by Latinotype.

The major focus of my life and ministry at this point is book design. In the brave new world of 21st century self-publishing a new paradigm has arisen: the indie small shop. One of the problems is that all books are published as ebooks, and many books are published only as ebooks. There are two problems with this: character availability and licensing. The licensing problem is solved by including an ebook license with all of the Librum E fonts. The character availability is the core of the design. OpenType features do not work yet with ePUBs [though it is in the spec, if I understand correctly]. Kerning doesn't work, and so on. So these five fonts have only the 256-character [or less] ASCII set. A separate small caps is included. It has lining figures {proportional} and small caps instead of the graphics. The other four fonts have graphics to give bullet choices in lists, oldstyle figures {proportional}, and care given to character shapes so they will work better without kerning. Made up of sixteen individual weights and spread over three different optical sizes, Essonnes is designed to bring utility back to the Didot genre. It’s a common belief among designers that Didones don’t work for text. This wasn’t true in 1819 and it isn’t true today. Like its forbearers, Essonnes is a truly optical family—not just a study in adjusting contrast. The text and display weights have been designed from the ground up for their intended roles. This means that everything from the height of the uppercase & lowercase letters have been specifically tuned for their intended purpose. Like many typefaces, Essonnes started after falling in love with a piece of history. In this case, it was the eccentric forms of Pierre Didot’s Type and the evolution of the High contrast Didone throughout the 19th century. It was out of curiosity and love for these forms that led to the first draft of what would become Essonnes back in 2011. These unique situations—screens, modern printing methods, the previous 200 years of typographic innovation since the original design, my own life experiences—have led to a typeface that, while based on history, is not stuck in it.

TE Nastaaliq Font It is one of the Persian calligraphy or ta'liq line that appeared in Persia in the seventh century AH (thirteenth century AD), as it was extracted from the lines of naskh, patch and thuluth. It is a beautiful font whose letters are distinguished by precision and extension. It is also characterized by its ease, clarity and lack of complexity. It does not tolerate diacritics, despite its difference with the line of the patch, as it is one of the best fonts in the world and the best without a competitor and admires many Arab calligraphers, and no cultural or literary exhibition is devoid of a painting written in Persian script. Raljon is a display typeface created by designer and lettering artist Mark Robinson. It is a collaboration between the Mmarkk and Teen-Beat Graphica visual design studios. This single font was created over a period of five years.
