 I meant i was only looking to reproduce as close as possible and not that they had digital type in the 20's.
Since I have no knowledge of fonts or typeface structure myself I thought id sign up to this forum to ask the question without really knowing what its all about and who its aimed at, I repeat my apology for the poor picture quality.

 can anyone help identify this font from a sign manufactured in the 1920's as I need to reproduce this enamel sign for my steam engine. Thanks. sorry about the pic quality ,not helpful i know but of particular note is the decender on the R - old sign font
