Hi guys,

I want to design a logo for my business.

Do I need to check with the copyright's owner of any font if I just want to use his/her font to design my logo? I mean, I don't want to distribute, sell, share the font by any mean. I just want to use it to design a logo.

Thanks

Phil

That is commercial use. Better check with the designer.

Edit kk:

If it is a commercial font and you use that to make a logotype you should be OK. That is, if you bought the font.

Make sure to read the terms of agreement (if one comes with the font) if it's free. Sometimes the TOA will spell out exactly what is okay and what's not. If not, as was mentioned, it's best to contact the designer. Hope this helps.
