Point Blair is a script typeface that mimics natural handwriting and signature styles. Inspired by the scribblings found in travel journals from early explorers, this script font focuses on a free flow feel, with real brush pen texture and variance built into each character. Ragtime was designed by Alan Meetks, an all capital condensed sans serif typeface. It features thick/thin weight variances and fine line casing adornment which recalls magazine styles of the 1940s. This typeface should not be letter spaced too closely. Ragtime is excellent for anything requiring an elegant, refined look.

Eunoia is an eye-popping, high-contrast, condensed, geometric, sans serif typeface. The family is not, as is usual, built around variance in weight or skew, but alternate letterforms. Eunoia is a system of six fonts with interchangeable characters. Use the fonts individually (each has a quite distinct personality), or mix and match to create eunique wordmarks.

The geometric G-Slab family is characterized by distinct large serifs and variance of line width from hairline to bold. It is suitable for titles in different sizes as well as for text blocks. The family includes seven weights and two widths. The extended character set supports Northern, Western, Southern and Central European as well as Eastern European languages.

At first glance, Handbills and Posters JNL bears a strong resemblance to Classroom JNL. True, they both share the visual qualities that are based on Franklin Bold Condensed, but this is where the similarity ends. Handbills and Posters JNL is a refined re-draw of the classic design, based largely on vintage typographic examples. There are also some character variances. Classroom JNL is a rougher alphabet with varying curves and lines, and resembles such letters traced and cut out of construction paper for a bulletin board display at school.

What has become a rite of passage at baseball games got its start in 1908 when lyricist Jack Norworth and music composer Albert Von Tilzer wrote "Take Me Out to the Ball-Game" (which was published by Von Tilzer's York Music Company). The Art Nouveau hand lettered title on the cover of the sheet music was eccentric and attractive enough to warrant being turned into a digital type face, and in honor of its namesake song is called Ball Game JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions.

Elongated Roman is a Didone-style serif typeface. It was originally designed in 1950 by typographers at Stephenson Blake. After International TypeFounders, Inc. acquired exclusive licensing rights to the Stephenson Blake Collection, Steve Jackaman (ITF) digitally revived the typeface in 1997 for the Red Rooster Collection. Much like other Didone typefaces, Elongated Roman’s strong contrast between thick and thin strokes and hairline serif design strengthen its elegance as a “modern face.” Unlike other Didone typefaces in the Red Rooster Collection, Elongated Roman was designed with display size in mind thanks to its strong variance in stroke weight.

Progressiva is a sans serif type family for text and display usage. With some unique playful forms and a little bit condensed structure, the family is ideal for texts that require some personality and titles with great visual presence. Progressiva family is composed by 11 roman styles, from Thin to UltraBlack, giving a lot of space for visual variance. Each font includes some standard and discretionary ligatures as well as some alternative letterforms included in stylistic alternates and stylistic sets OpenType features. It’s suitable for magazines, posters, packaging, advertising, signage systems, corporate material and so on.

The cover of a 1950s-era catalog for the Freedman Novelty Company (of San Francisco California) had the word "Novelty" hand-lettered in an unusually angular type style against various geometric shapes somewhat resembling balloons. While the lettering was quirky enough to warrant re-drawing as a digital font, the shapes would have presented a visual nightmare in design and spacing, so simple black rectangles were substituted and the letters appear in white. Since novelty lettering of this type would never become "standard" in use, its function became the font's name, Limited Appeal JNL. There is just a simple A-Z and 1-0 character set along with basic punctuation.

Gilway is a playful, rounded display with tons of personality. This typeface was inspired strongly by one of Ernhardt Ratdolt’s (1442-1528?) many beautiful typefaces. Mr. Ratdolt was a printer from the city of Augsburg, who had also worked for several years as a printer in Venice. He made many advances in printing technique and technology, including the decorated title page. Early books have a mysterious rhythm to the appearance of the text, due to small variances in letters caused by casting irregularities and ink transfer from the press. This supposed defect, which is present in this typeface, gives a pleasing effect when compared to the sterile regularity of modern printing technology. This font has been released as version 2.0 with over two hundred additional characters and improved metrics.

Zona Pro is a geometric sans-serif type family of 8 styles plus matching italics, designed by Kostas Bartsokas in 2013/14. It draws inspiration from 1920’s geometric style faces, having clean and highly readable shapes, and mixes it up in the heavier weights with a slight variance in the stroke widths, lending it a grotesque-ish unique and distinctive look. Zona Pro is multifunctional and versatile. With its modern yet elegant form it performs amazingly in display sizes and headlines. At the same time its really tall x-height makes Zona Pro equally suited for editorials and shorter lines of text in smaller sizes (magazines, newspapers). Zona Pro supports Greek, Western, Central and Eastern European languages, ligatures and special characters.

The idea behind the font called Chaco originated after testing the deficiency shown in road signs in Latin America. The design began after a long documenting period. Throughout the various stages of the work,  there were several  tests and checks  conducted of the formal solutions implemented which, based on the results, would gradually be changed until we finally reached, in this way, its definite design. The original project for the font features three steps, namely: regular, light and bold, yet by making progress in the development, it was possible for us to perceive that by enlarging the black and thin variances, the family with 5 different weights could offer very good results in mass media, such as newspapers, magazines and television. In order to expand its possibilities of utilization, the set was completed with italics and small capitals.

ITC Élan combines a gothic simplicity with elegance in a distinctive yet subtle typeface design. There is also a feeling of architectural strength which is derived primarily from an optically even line-weight and a sense of vertical stress. The small, almost Latin, serifs add distinction at both display and text sizes. The large x-height, minimum stroke variance, and open counters are ideal design traits for typeface legibility. Additional characteristics which distinguish ITC Élan are the splayed M" and bowls which do not quite close in the "a," "b" and several other letters. In contrast to the roman, there is almost a calligraphic playfulness to the italic. ITC Élan is the second ITC typeface from Albert Boton of France, who also designed ITC Eras. ITC Élan comes in four weights, book, medium, bold, and black, each with a corresponding italic."

Some typefaces are more deserving of the reference "original typeface design" than are others. Such a typeface is Steve's Safefont GD. It is indeed safe to say that this design has caused some controversy. However, the management of Galapagos Design Group believes that the message of the typeface, even before its characters are used to form words in print, is important enough-and the design itself compelling enough-to warrant the risk of any unintended offense it might cause. Safefont GD is made up of condoms, in various shapes and sizes. The design originated as a lampoon of contemporary-punk- and -garagefont- designs of the nineties. It soon evolved into the quintessence of socially conscious design. Steve suggests this typeface could be "useful as a public service font aimed at important health and social issues." In addition, Safefont GD lends itself to a wide range of fun uses.

You can hear the wheels of imagination turning within this font - Grit Gothic, from Grit History™ B Series, by Baseline Fonts. Both highly stylized and very legible, the extreme height of this font can give even a goblin vertigo. Extended X heights create lowercase that adventurously reach up through extended shoulders and spines while persistent grunge warns of skinned knees that may result along the climb. It’s easy to envision children’s rallying cries in Grit Gothic, perfect for book titles, film titles, poster headlines, and any other epic that needs a strong font with a dark edge of mystery and wonder. This font is rife with personality, including large and daunting punctuation, whittled wood-look vertical bars that berate and argue with beveled bowls, ascenders that attempt to intimidate one another with their height variances, and tittles that bully one another, as they're a variety of context dependent sizes. Grit Gothic is available in Regular and Bold with full Greek-lettered foreign language support.

Limon was entirely hand drawn and carefully digitised to get accurate curves but keeping the handmade look. The script fonts are smart scripts, plenty of alternates designed to preserve the calligraphic rhythm. Limon is a beautiful option for menus, magazine covers, wedding invitations, cards and all kind of stationery, packaging and labels. Lumina combines a fluid, informal look with an upright, fairly formal character structure. The font is reminiscent of leaded or stained glass, suggesting a trying to-be-solid outline with flowing inner spaces. Characters are softened by the use of staggered heights and slightly irregular widths, creating the impression of hand-crafted, ink-drawn shapes. Lumina is unusual in that it gives a medieval treatment to a modern character outline. The outline has been given an irregular, slightly hand-crafted look that is at variance with its modern character and hints at both the informality of a grunge font and the carefully hand-drawn quality of medieval illuminated scripts (hence its name). It is one of the few informal, compressed fonts that retains a high degree of legibility. Use it when you want your text to be both relaxed and readable, and yet take up very little space on the page. Lumina Regular is not an outline font in the usual sense, since it contains one or more rounded hollows or lacunae within its outline. This all started with a love for Minister. This is a font designed by Carl Albert Fahrenwaldt in 1929. In the specimen booklet there’s a scan from Linotype’s page many years ago. They no longer carry the font. I’ve gone quite a ways from the original. It was dark and a bit heavy. But I loved the look and the readability. This came to a head when I started my first book on all-digital printing written from 1994-1995, and published early in 1996. I needed fonts to show the typography I was talking about. At that point oldstyle figures, true small caps, and discretionary ligatures were rare. More than that text fonts for book design had lining OR oldstyle figures, lowercase OR small caps—never both. So, I designed the Diaconia family (using the Greek word for minister). It was fairly rough. I knew very little. I later redesigned and updated Diaconia into Bergsland Pro —released in 2004. It was still rough (though I impressed myself). In 2006, I found myself needing a readable sans serif. So I went to Bergsland Pro, and eliminated the serifs. I named the font Brinar. I kept a flare in place for the serifs and cupped the ends. I was stunned. People loved it. It’s remained my bestseller until very recently. So, at the end of 2016 I decided that Brinar really needed some help. The flares were basically random. The stem width and modulation variances all needed to be fixed. My old OpenType feature code was quite limited and clumsy. So, I created the 6-font Biblia family. I cleaned up or redesigned all the glyphs. I updated the fonts to the 2017 set of features: small caps, small cap figures, oldstyle figures, fractions, lining figures, ligatures and discretionary ligatures. These are fonts designed for book production and work well for text or heads.
