1 matches view forum post #6514 Hey there- I came across this about 18 months ago - it was used for The Smashing Pumpkins' 2000 single "The Everlasting Gaze". It's by T-26, and it's called La Figura. It's gorgeous, is it not? Elegantly, -Tørnquist
1 matches view forum post #21619 koeie, Oh I suppose :) Though I thought I was being accosted my first visit here. and neogrey yes i suppose they have to learn somehow or another if they do. and i must admit... "back in the day" i am guilty of this cardinal sin myself. yes, it's true. [edited to clarify:I never asked for a commercial font for free, but was willing to receive one] anyone remember fonts-anon? Well I posted on the forum asking if anyone knew what the name of the font used on The Smashing Pumpkins Adore Album was... In reply I received a copy of Novella in my mailbox, which (AT THE TIME!) I was more than happy to accept and keep on the down-low so to speak. At that time I made websites and graphics, but didn't think about creating fonts myself, and I guess I assumed that fonts were generated, or that type designers made bucoo bucks so what would it matter if one little sale to little old me slipped by.

1 matches view forum post #22981 Well maybe if one of my fonts made a Smashing Magazine font list! JK :P Ok I'll get around to it & sharing what other (little) type knoweledge I might be able to contribute as well. I first heard of Typedia from imjustcreative.com (@imjustcreative) on twitter & really liked it. :)
1 matches view forum post #22769 view details for free font #14444 Featured on one of the Smashing Magazine desktop calendars for August 2009: http://media1.smashingmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/wallpapers/august09/august-09-do-the-dance-calendar-640x480.jpg recognized that weird "g" instantly :)
1 matches view forum post #26393 Thanks for your reply. I cannot copy/paste your text and when I try pasting the Helvetica CV here it reformats! I'm afraid I'm a total novice when it comes to knowing more than serif versus sans serif. (Though I read enough of the board to know I'd better steer clear of the evil Comic Sans ;-) I'm not sure what your "Linotype" reference means. It does seem to me that your sample is narrower, however. Thanks again. (I just watched the You Tube video of delighted Big Cats with pumpkins, which I adored. Hope that counts.)
