Tin Roof is a unique and original Jukebox font based on the 1958 hand lettered movie poster from "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". The slightly modulated baseline and shaky letters give the font both a silly and sinister aspect. Perfect for any dramatic, spooky or sultry subject, Tin Roof has all the allure of a hot southern night! Jukebox fonts are available in OpenType format and downloadable packages contain both .otf and .ttf versions of the font. They are compatible on both Mac and Windows. All fonts contain basic OpenType features as well as support for Latin-based and most Eastern European languages.

This redesign is made from proofs, rather than the metal, and so is heavier, with particular attention to the Harris and the Monotype revision, which was made from proofs of Baskerville’s Great Primer (16pt).

This font was created from the handwriting of my friend Ingrid. I always felt she had great handwriting and this font is proof of this. There are for styles to choose from, a great alternative to the common handwriting fonts seen everywhere.

A reasonably accurate rendering of an old favorite font from Victorian times. Quite readable in lowercase, and very eye-catching in all-caps. We got the proof for this in London many years ago, but neglected to learn the name. Zorro sounds good.

Many years ago, we bought a bunch of proofs that had apparently come from the defunct Van Loey-Nouri foundry in Belgium. Cognac was an incomplete alphabet among them, which we completed. Just a guess, but 1910 seems like a probable date for this art nouveau design.

Roman Condensed is a condensed, classic roman typeface. It has a medium contrast in stroke weight, slightly rounded serifs, and is easy to read. This version is based on a typeface from Showcard Machine Company, which was made specifically to be used with their proof presses.

The original Phenix typeface was produced in 1935 by Morris Fuller Benton for ATF. Utilizing the original proofs, we have added three additional complementary weights with all the alternate glyphs. Our Phoenix Pro contains all the high-end features expected in a quality OpenType Pro font.

This came from a shop near Munich, Germany, and was a very poor proof with no font name on it. Never did identify it. When we cleaned it up, we liked it pretty well. We think it is typical of some early twentieth century art nouveau fonts.

Zebra was originally designed by Karlgeorg Hoefer in 1965 for the Stempel foundry in Germany. This unique font was designed as a two-color script face and is now available digitally for the first time. The P22/IHOF release presents six separate fonts based on the original painted drawings and Stempel proofs.

Frutiger based the design for his Meridien on the 16th century characters of Jenson, saying: As I designed Meridien, I wanted to avoid stiffness in the forms - I thought they should have a more natural line and flow. My main consideration was in creating a font which was both extremely legible and aesthetically pleasing. Meridien is proof of Frutiger’s success in his endeavor.

Forum II is transcribed from the Forum II initials designed by Prof. Georg Trump and issued by C. E. Weber in 1952.

This is not Hollywood. You may be surprised but I am not inspired by the famous Hollywood sign for this type but a grid on a roof of Barcelona. I walked down the street observing the architecture of buildings in the area of the Marina when I saw a grid on a roof. One of the workers put a board on them and the magic happen. Hollywood 69 is now free with 99 !

It’s said that what goes around, comes around, and there’s no better proof of the saying than this typeface. Originally released as Latin Antique by the Stephenson Blake foundry in the 1880s, this face achieved renewed popularity in the 1950s, and it’s back again as, like, Coolsville, Daddy-o. Both versions include the complete Unicode Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets, as well as localization for Lithuanian, Moldovan and Romanian.

The Bentele-Unziale letters are transcribed from letters drawn by Prof. Ernst Bentele which are displayed in Hoffmanns Schriftatlas (1952). The size of the original is matched when set at 84 pt.

A fat face roman, Madrone is typical of popular early nineteenth-century styles. Fat face types are characterized by their squatness and extreme letter width. One familiar version of this design is Bodoni Ultra Bold. Madrone is eye-catching for display uses in advertising and packaging.

Epoca, designed in 2010, is a classic linear sans for text and display. It has economical proportions, a neutral appearance and a discreet elegance. While sturdy and robust, it is nonetheless a strong workhorse. The slightly angular shape of the round elements results in a quiet flow of the line which enables fatigue-proof reading even with large amounts of text. Epoca comes in eight styles and in OpenType format. All weights contain small caps, standard ligatures, proportional lining figures, tabular lining figures, proportional old style figures, lining old style figures, matching currency symbols, fraction- and scientific numerals.

Willow is an Adobe Originals typeface designed in 1990 by Joy Redick for the Adobe Wood Type series. Willow is a condensed typeface modeled on nineteenth-century wood types known as Clarendons (wood type Clarendons do not resemble the English metal types of that name). Clarendon condensed faces were originally so well-designed that words or a line of display type have an even color that is remarkable for wood types. Taken from proofs of type in the Rob Roy Kelly Collection housed at the University of Texas at Austin, Willow can be used for display work such packaging, advertising, and posters.

The idea of Amsterdam Modern comes from the roofs of buildings ranged along the canal in Holland and the font was designed to have not only an industrial but also a handcrafts atmosphere. The family consists of three weights and is the best used for packaging, logos of products and short sentences.

This font was designed to create the feel of an actual magazine editor's notes on a design proof. While other handwritten fonts have some visible letter patterns, Editor's Hand comes with three sets of letters that automatically alternate, so you don't have to worry about swapping them out yourself! Kansas Casual offers a more upright, gothic, and modern alternative to the conventional sign painter's one stroke. Kansas provides a completely unique take on a overdone classic with proportions and crossbar heights inspired by the more friendly Chicago style. This all-caps set provides six weights so that you can adjust size with weight to maintain that authentic single brush weighted look. The proofing process included projecting, tracing, and then painting the letters out to see how true the small details were to the medium. The Monotype Janson font family is based on types originally cut by the Hungarian punch-cutter, Nicolas Kis circa 1690. Named after Anton Janson, a Dutch printer. The original matrices came into the hands of the Stempel foundry in Germany in 1919. New type was cast and proofs made; these were used as the source for Monotype's version of Janson. The original hand cut Janson types have a number of small design irregularities which give the typeface its unique charm. These have been carefully incorporated into the new version. The overall effect is of even color and an easy readability that makes Monotype Janson most at home in book and publishing work.

David Kowalski’s typeface Maccaroni is based on a logo type and has been designed to a complete typeface in Prof. Veljovic’s Type Design course at HAW Hamburg. Maccaroni breaks the traditional brush scripts and offers a unique design. Each letter is present in triplicate in order to achieve the illusion of a hand-written typeface. The OpenType programming ensures that two identical letters won’t follow each other.
