I designed this font a few years ago to address a direct problem. My work demanded small paragraphs of text to be screenprinted in a varsity font style. The house varsity was rather uneven and created small blobs of ink at sharp angles when printed. I designed Beau's Varsity to address both of these problems. The new font eliminated the blobbing, and I like to think my original design is a step up in evenness from the other options.

Rioma is a geometric typeface inspired by a legend of type design: Antique Olive. As a font family, Rioma ships in two different formats. This font is a clean, modern sans serif bold. Named after “De Rotterdam”* this huge and super cool building (read the story below). Great for headlines, Posters, Flyers but also well legible at small size in large texts. Contains All European language accents and characters. --- The Story --- *This complex is located in the Kop Van Zuid district of Rotterdam, on Wilhelminapier. I was lucky to see this building from the beginning (2009) growing up (2013) That time when I was working and living here. I was always amazed by the design and how huge it is every time I took a look at it while driving or walking on the Erasmus Bridge. When I was going to work or just hiking around the city. It has a special meaning and message for me: I started creating fonts in my free time in 2010 when I came to this city to work. I was factory worker, dishwasher etc. I grew together with this amazing construction from brick to brick, step by step. By the time its construction finished, I was able to quit my day job and become a full time freelance designer.

Nipon has an affiliation with the Far East. The first character I designed for this alphabet was the capital P. The stepped thin lines are linking to the Japanese characters and the circle shape is a classic Japanese element which means literally: the origin of the Sun, Nippon. So this is where the name comes from, I skipped one P in the name, so my Nipon gets his own identity. Next to this oriental look it also carries a light resemblance with a juwel box. Precious and elegant shapes for the gentle touch in writing.

This typeface came about when playing with felt tip marker settings in Corel Painter and is derivative of my own handwriting. Up until Workstation Clutter, all of my fonts were designed on paper, then scanned or reproduced into a digital format. With the use of Painter, the non-digital steps were removed, making this the first fully-digital Zang-O-Fonts typeface. Brian J Bonislawsky of the Astigmatic One Eye Typographic Institute helped round out the character set and additional needed characters. The name was inspired by an ex-girlfriend's disorganized desk.

Linea 72 is a typical seventies display typeface that was designed by Roland Hirter back in the phototypesetting days, when typefaces were really drawn by hand. In this static environment each work step took its time. With the decision to digitize this typeface his son Thomas Hirter also chose to develop it further with todays technical possibilities. About family “Noema Pro” Steps… The name “Noema” is again borrowed from ancient Greek word, which may have different meanings depending on the phrase: meaning, logic, significance, purpose, reason, value, nod, implied. In this font i tried and here(like in “ErisPro”) to give a different illustration in letters with a reverse dial(…sloping or recline) from Italic, simply because of whims or because the monotony is tiring me… This series is composed and includes twenty-four fonts with 658 glyphs each, with true italics, true Sloping and supports of course: Latin, Greek & Cyrillic.

The inspiration source for Fantasie Monogram is another hand-drawn design from a vintage embroidery publication which relies on rigid geometric letterforms on a dynamic slant stepping downwards. This monogram, which evokes visions of it embossed or printed on antique cookie tins, was originally intended to adorn handkerchiefs, but the possibilities of its use are up to your imagination. This is one of many monogram designs from the early 1900’s which fall into a two letter format that is either adorned or interwoven decorative elements. Are you ready for the 1MB processing powerful performance? Step into the future with my wanna-be retro 8-bit powerful performance digital grafitti inspired computer font from the future...or rather...the past! I was inspired by old posters and commercials for old 8-bit computers from the late 70-ies and 80-ies. Despite the lack of powers (compared to computers and phones today) they seemed to be able to both rule the world and ease your everyday jobs. Well, the thought of all that, combined with my love for grafitti and comic text, inspired me to do this font!

Kanna Aoki was designing fabrics and dishware for several major manufacturers when she designed MVB Cafe Mimi. The design came from a few words Aoki painted as decoration for a set of cappuccino cups. Aoki created the Regular weight for MVB Fonts using a brush. The Bold was adapted after digitization. Using several double-letter ligatures, the fonts can feel as natural and spontaneous as the original hand-painted lettering. Despite its curlicues and free-flowing forms, great care was taken to keep this script balanced and legible. It skips and hops along the baseline but doesn't lose its step.

In the 1949 Paramount comedy "My Friend Irma" (a film based on the popular radio series that introduced America to Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis), an opening gag set-up involving excavation work utilizes street barricades which inspired Work Crew Stencil JNL. Placed along the site, different advisories are stenciled upon barricades warning of the work in progress. The scatterbrained Irma (Marie Wilson) walks straight through the construction, oblivious as to what's going on around her and steps right into the open hole dug into the sidewalk (a scene she reprises in 1950's "My Friend Irma Goes West").
