Say hello to Odds - a versatile, chunky casual sans with lots of personality! It’s fresh, friendly and easy to read. It is also a great mix of boldness and cuteness, so it definitely captures attention. The Odds family comes in five distinct fonts styles : - Odds - an artistic handwritten-style sans - Odds Sans - a typical neat and clean sans (caps and small caps which you can mix & match) - Odds Narrow - a cute handwritten narrow sans (uppercase and lowercase), and two awesome sets of goodies: - Odds Extras - borders, arrows, speech bubbles, etc. - Odds Symbols - palm leaves, plants, fruits and other useful objects. 15. Off Yer Trolley by Hanoded, $10.00
I really like the UK and I quite enjoy the British slang. Off Yer Trolley is one such expression. It means ‘behaving in an unusual way or doing something silly’. It just popped in my head when I was looking for a name for this rather silly font. Off Yer Trolley is a handmade cartoon or kids font. As the name implies, this font certainly behaves in an unusual way and you can use it for something silly as well!
  16. HGB Info OSF by HGB fonts, $20.00
It's nice when a font provides old style figures, small caps and alternate letters. But what to do if my typesetting program doesn't support Open Type features? The solution may be old-fashioned, but it's effective: the variants are placed in separate font families: Standard, Old Style Figures (OSF), and Small Caps (SC). Any word processor can handle it. As a special feature, my OSF fonts also contain alternative letters such as a looped g or descenders in the italic f.
  17. Odd Stencil JNL by Jeff Levine, $29.00
The sheet music for "Dancing Butterfly" had the title of the 1929 composition hand lettered in what can be only described as an odd hybrid of letters with an Art Nouveau stencil influence. This quirky style became the basis for Odd Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.
  18. Brush Off JNL by Jeff Levine, $29.00
Brush Off JNL is based on the hand-lettered title from the cover of the 1955 sheet music of "Love is A Many Splendored Thing". The unique, artistic and somewhat eccentric letter shapes are both reminiscent of show card lettering and calligraphy. The design is available in both regular and oblique versions.
  19. Off Duty JNL by Jeff Levine, $29.00
The free form hand lettering from the titles and credits of the 1964 French film comedy “Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez” [“The Policeman from Saint-Tropez”] was the basis for Off Duty JNL – which is available in both regular and oblique versions.
  20. Squared Off JNL by Jeff Levine, $29.00
In an 1896 specimen catalog for American Type Founders there is a design called Geometric Gothic. The lettering style looks as if it’s ahead of its time; foreseeing the 1980s. 26. DF Pommes by Dutchfonts, $16.00
The Pommes font originates from my mid seventies potato punchcuttings at artschool. Since I’m living in a potato republic (NE of the province of Groningen) I got inspired to continue. I prepared this culinary alphabet as a tribute to this wonderful allround vegetable. Belgian and French recipies helped me in selecting and cutting/cooking the 6 styles. The Pommes-Dauphine Ultra Heavy (too much eggs added) can be used as a layer behind the Pommes-Dauphine.
  27. DF Ariënne by Dutchfonts, $33.00
The Etalage-script has been drawn for the first time in the year 2000, based on a early 20th century lettering stencil with what farmer Boelema at Lalleweer stenciled his grainsacks. Eventually the script letter was developed as a typeface with a wink to the ‘lost’ displaytypes for the ‘display window’ of graphic designer Ariënne Boelens, who in exchange made the website www.lalleweer.nl. What originated the Ariënne should be evident now.
  28. DF Stromboli by Dutchfonts, $-
DF-Stromboli doesn’t look like it but in fact it is a script typeface. It was written with a coffee spoon, acting like a broad pen, in the ashes of the Stromboli volcano right on top of a scanner. This typeface evokes orientation and fear, the dichotomy of Stromboli’s personification. A tribute to il faro del mediterraneo: the mediterranean lighthouse.
  29. DF Pigtail by Dutchfonts, $33.00
DF Pigtail is the result of a curious marriage of the 'free'-form of writing with the fixed (mono) space for each character of the typewriter typeface. In the early sixties of the last century, typewriter typography became popular as a Fluxus vocabulary. The Fluxus art movement (in fact a Dada like follow up) which encouraged a do it yourself aesthetic, and valued simplicity over complexity and anti commercialism over the conventional market-driven approach. I was educated in the mid seventies when this form of typography was still very popular and was even applied in corporate design. This particular letter has been used by my teacher Jan Begeer to compose his design assignments. Recently I rediscovered this type and was struck by its pigtail similarity and drew it my way.

This typeface, in fact a bitmap font 'avant la lettre' is an interpretation of the Old Face condensed type. It is being used where space is scarce. In small sizes the text appears to be drawn with a pencil.
  35. DF Riga by Dutchfonts, $33.00
DF Riga is a minimal bitmap typeface which works very well in small sizes both on your screen and on paper. But... if you want to express its deep beauty, use it in display sizes and the smell of ink is there. These typefaces (DF-A BIT, DF-Riga and DF-Dudok) owe their existence to the excellent letterpress printing of Hanneke Briër at the Grafisch Centrum Groningen. Beyond ‘the perfect’ there is a lot to get, it is made, you can see that.
