1 posts view forum post #9377 im afraid, to be fair and square, i had to discontinue that. many designers were understandably not too happy about that idea, even though it was arguably legal. i am cleaning up AF's image... at a cost, i guess, to you and me... :) anyone who has an opinion on this matter please express yourself
1 posts view forum post #17806 Finally i got around to cleaning up the encoding issues that resulted in weird characters appearing within font info, after editing forum comments, image preview text, etc, etc... Special characters such as '©' were affected. If you notice any encoding issues from now on, please post a comment here.

I gives some strange erros and sometimes it justs hangs up... I want to backup Outlook Express emails and settings before reinstall, and restore afterwards. Any help?
1 posts view forum post #8260 Thanks so much! I googled Benguiat Book and it seems that Adobe owns it, or at least I couldn't find it for free. Being ignorant of such things, I never thought of a font as something one might have to pay for. (It probably takes a lot of time to come up with new fonts, and obviously the people doing this would want to get paid, duh!) Unfortunately, I'm one of the few who is still uncomfortable with online purchasing. After looking up Caslon No.224 Book, I agree that the "b" does look like someone used that font initially and then distorted the letter in a paint program (or maybe it's italic?). Again, thanks so much for your help. The kindness of your 30-second reply saved me hours of manual comparisons. Perhaps now I'll resign myself to cleaning up the letters manually in a paint program, though I've been dreading this. Drenche
1 posts view forum post #7183 Gah, I still need to clear my EMail inbox - haven't forgotten at all; but that's a job I do keep putting off..... The Simbats font and the companion were designed by SM Lust - the same artist who designed my "Bunny Wuffles" logo character  I might have guessed you would have known about the fonts, but I link to his site from my main page where I was *hoping* you would have come across them as a nice surprise. Who on earth was I kidding" :D ...and NO! Bolton is a new one on me - where can I find it? I tried Googling, but whenever I think I found it, I just keep on getting redirected to Fonts.com where everything is pay. I have another film-related font query; I'll start a new thread on that one if I may, as it is a different topic. And I MUST get round to cleaning my EMail inbox!
1 posts view forum post #18321 This is a bit tricky because your sample is not very sharp and suffers from compresion. After cleaning it up a bit I found one that comes close, the URW Letter Gothic Bold. No match though, compare the f. Using this one seems to be no match at all: (a word screendump) But the screen enlarged to 150% produces something reasonably cose: Hope this helps. Edit kk: Out of curiosity I superimposed the URW Letter Gothic Bold over your image. As you can see the match is not perfect, your caps height is just a fraction higher but I wonder whether you will get very much closer. Success.
