Installing a font
#1 Posted by jajukhan on 2007-09-07 13:48:10 | quote | 147.197.*.1*
Hello

I hope someone could help me out.
I am a university student - naturally im poor :P

I need to print a few pages but the font I need is not available in the university & they wont allow me to install it.
Does anyone know how to install a font without such previlages. I have tried copying it to the fonts folder but it says access denied.
The font I am wanting to use is EurasiaExtended.

Thanks !!!!

Before you go through all the trouble see whether the Eurostile Extended is available on the uni's network. Most probably is. Eurostile is the original. If not check for the Microgamma Medium Extended. Both will give you a far better print result than the Eurasia.

Not availabe? Before you start the word processor:

I assume you have the font. If not, ask Big Brother for EurasiaExtended (no space) and goto Brazil. Download it but do not save the zip but choose open with ... (the default unzipper will be shown). The unzipper wil open.
Double click the font and click minimize. The font is now temporarily installed and can be used by any Windows program until you close it.
If you have the font just open it and ... see above.

That is all there is to it.

Have fun and ... be nice to the cats
