Well, sorry, if you would have asked a similar font to Rotis Demi Serif, then CM Tiempo would show some similarities. But for Sans Serif: Sorry, don't know.

Southern Software once cloned the Rotis and renamed it Libre. I asked Big Brother who mumbled something about elefuns and upseros.

I cannot point you in the direction of LIBRE, but there is another San Serif that is modestly similar to Rotis 55 and also designed by Southern Software.
It is called Minima SSK, and you can find it for free by going to - http://www.abstractfonts.com/font/218
