For a couple of years, with various versions of Windows (XP and 2000) I have had problems with 'corrupt' fonts that Windows will not install.

Specifically the problem is that the fonts have no Subfamily naming information and it appears that a Windows Service Pack made Windows unable to use fonts with no Subfamily info.

Unfortunately a lot of the fonts in our archive don't seem to have Subfamily naming. Our current solution to this is to open each font with Font Creator Pro, add naming info, and save the font. This is frustrating when trying to install more than a couple of fonts at a time.

Has this afflicted anyone else, and is there a better solution? Ideally one that doesn't require opening each file and manually adding the information.
