It look's similar to the Thunderbird (Bitstream foundry), but details are different.

As far as I know it is Mississippi riverboat, and the BFD was using it on their badge years ago. but I can't seem to locate it anywhere! ~JC

Hi, That is a close match, but not exact. the font the BoSox use has diamond shaped openings in the vertical elements.
