Saga is a rather narrow typeface designed for a typeface competition arranged by a Scandinavian graphic arts magazine. It had to be based on ancient runic characters, that's the reason of some peculiar angular shapes. Saga is not att all a new runic typeface, but a usable one when the columns are narrow. The name is taken, of course, from the Nordic mythology. But saga" in the meaning of "story" contributed to the decision about the name. Saga was released in 1992.

Inspired and derived from the serial numbers printed on United States paper currency, the tongue-in-cheek infringe typeface has grown from the alphanumeric set of characters that sit reservedly aside the faces of dead presidents. Taken out of their bright-green element, the characters have been given a life of their own, and have been joined by a one-hundred percent unique set of lowercase characters. The font stands out in both formal and informal uses and can be used for both headlines and supporting text.

About family “StenoPro” Short for stenography… The name of the font was taken from the method of high-speed writing (shorthand) with a special alphabet. In shorthand, the rule "write as you hear" applies, that is, spelling is not observed. Capitalization, accents, ghosts, and punctuation except the semicolon are removed. In narrow letters you have the advantage of more words in a limited space… This series is composed and includes dozen fonts with 633 glyphs each, with true italics, and supports of course: Latin, Greek & Cyrillic.

Thought Balloons. No use for them any more. You can't be taken seriously when your thoughts are floating above your head in cute, puffy clouds. Doesn't look good. When the streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood, a thought bubble just isn't noir enough, is it? It's gotta be GRIM. It's gotta be GRITTY. Let's face it... It's gotta be GRIM'N'GRITTY. In Italic and Bold Italic. Also Regular and Bold. But I've little use for them either. Talk is cheap.

Tritone is a serif old style typeface display. The design is inspired by the Art Noveau style, which taken from the facade of a bathing establishment and reinterpreted it. The beauty of the font lies in it is classic and unique shapes and forms that characterise it, and for this comprises only two weights, for the dedication to the forms. The font expresses beauty and tradition, but in a lyrical context it can express the power of opera, because of it is powerful and elegant design.

I drew this font staying true to the original design. The letter table in the relevant book was taken as reference. Enochian (/ɪˈnoʊkiən/ ə-NOH-kee-ən) is an occult constructed language[3] — said by its originators to have been received from angels — recorded in the private journals of John Dee and his colleague Edward Kelley in late 16th-century England.[4] Kelley was a scryer who worked with Dee in his magical investigations. The language is integral to the practice of Enochian magic.

Tangent provides a fresh new look on serif dominant typefaces. Its strict graphic outline makes it appear crisp, lively and unsentimental; and at the same time humanistic virtues have also been well taken into account. Tangentd consists of 18 styles. Point Made JNL is a varied assortment of pointing hands and arrows used for embellishing word copy, drawing attention to key points or simply adding some retro flair to your print or web project. Twenty six designs in varying styles offer a wide range of visual diversity. The images point to the right on the capital keys and to the left on the lower case keys. This font is a companion to Point Taken JNL, which offers twenty-six more pointing hands and arrows.

A funtastic and playful typestyle, Wintermint started as a digitization of a film typeface called Lori by LetterGraphics. This font is filled with bounce and liveliness taken from its original limited character set and fleshed out to a fully functional typeface. Flare serifs along with the occasional weird and wonderful curl gives this typeface a festive holiday vibe, but it could easily blend into a psychedelic design space, or just an all out wacky groove. The name "Sticky Love" is taken from a song by Kate Bush. Perhaps not one of Kate Bush' most famous songs, but nevertheless, the song is about love (Which I think is what Kate Bush sings a lot about!) The Sticky Love font is also about love - that kind of love you just can't control. In this case, the love is about wacky letters! :) Sticky Love is handmade and just a tiny bit cleaned up. Not much though. The font has kept the handmade love!

Architype Crouwel is a collection of typefaces created in collaboration with Wim Crouwel, following his agreement with The Foundry, to recreate his experimental alphabets as digital fonts. Crouwel's most recognized work was for the Van Abbe and Stedelijk museums (1954 –72) where he established his reputation for radical, grid-based design. Architype Catalogue originates from Wim Crouwel’s Stedelijk Museum exhibition catalogue for sculptor Claes Oldenburg, 1970. The cover’s soft ‘padded’ letterforms evoke the artist’s work. Oldenburg was so taken with the design, that he asked Crouwel to complete the alphabet.

Elegant and idiosyncratic, AB Ticena is a display and extended typeface inspired by the ancient forms of Lombardic capitals. The sometimes quirky and capricious letterforms take their inspiration from medieval forms found in inscriptions and manuscripts where latin Roman capitals were taken to new stylistic and even extreme expressions. The ultra-wide horizontal proportions and its modulated, humanistic strokes gives it a more refined and contemporary edge. AB Ticena works best for logotypes, short and striking headlines, and editorial purposes. A set of ligatures and stylistic alternates is also available for selected characters and pairings.

About family “SaetaPro” Wind games… The name is taken from an old paper toy made by someone who makes paper planes with teasing messages. But there are also songs with a strong feeling in flamenco style. It is also a way of expression in order to give way to emotion and interpersonal communication. They are wind games that people have been playing for a long time ago!!! This series is composed and includes twelve fonts with 632 glyphs each, with true italics, true Sloping and supports of course: Latin, Greek & Cyrillic.

During the heydey of automobile travel hundreds of motels, motor courts and tourist cabins sprung up along the roadways in order to offer weary drivers (and most often their families) rest with a night's lodging. Tourist Cabin JNL takes the inline portion from the inline font Asbury Park JNL and creates this pleasant monoline design. The original design inspiration (from which the inline portion of the letters was taken) was a 1930s WPA (Works Progress Administration) Federal art project poster with the hand-lettered words “Work with Care”

The name Jeullyta is taken from the Indonesian language but with modified pronunciation. The correct one is Jelita which means "Gorgeous". I named this font Jeullyta because it is gorgeous, from the initial process until the end product. It is a strong yet nice looking script font and can be considered a brush font too with the shadow on the body of each glyph. Bocksay Mira is a text font family inspired by the manuscript Mira Caligraphiae Monumenta created between 1561 and 1596 by Georg Bocskay and Joris Hoefnagel for the Holy Roman Emperor. All shapes were taken from the original records in both regular and italic style: lower case (p. 5, 72), uppercase (p. 47, 121), small caps (p. 122, 7). The high contrast forms and the wide spacing makes this family suitable for long texts but also for titling uses, having always that calligraphic and stylish look. Find the original script here

Supporting Cast JNL is a hybrid of similar designs for hand lettering found on title cards from two morality photoplays from 1936 dealing with drug abuse, "Cocaine Fiends" and "Marihuana" respectively. The films were produced with the hope of educating the public against the dangers of illicit drugs, but they have taken on a cult status because of the dated approach to the problem. Despite all this, it is the Deco-influenced hand lettering which is being celebrated in this font release, not the subject matter of the films.

Deep in the bowels of the earth a tortured creature tries to mimic the writings of mankind. It labors long and hard carving the letter forms on the walls of its cave. Many years later, rubbings where taken of these impressions and fashioned to create this hideous font. All kidding aside, with such a formal training in type design, it was not easy for me to create these ill-shaped letters. I kept wanting to smooth out the outlines. Anyway, it was a good exercise and we now have this antique heavy-weight.

Not your average monospaced typeface, Base Mono flourishes with several handsome OT features mostly found exclusively in text fonts. Despite the geometric and techno feel of the initial roman version, the cursive version is heavily influenced by traditional Finnish weaving and folk art! The contradiction is taken further by inclusion of such classical features as small capitals and lower case figures, usually found in slightly more traditional fonts. Base Mono family suits many editorial, corporate identity and logotype tasks. It can even be used for setting text such as captions and headlines.

Giambattista Bodoni of Parma designed and cut his typefaces circa 1790. The Bodoni types were the first of the Modern type designs in which hairlines contrast sharply with bolder stems, and serifs are unbracketed. The Bauer Bodoni font family derives from a cutting for metal type in 1926, retaining many of the original features. As with all versions of this typeface, the contrast between thick and thin strokes of Bauer Bodoni should be taken into consideration as the thin strokes can appear to fade out under certain printing processes.

Created exclusively for an exhibition catalog for the exhibition 'Hail to the King, Baby!'. CA Hail to the King is based upon different letters taken from handmade signs from all over the world. You will find a lot of unexpected specials: irregular character sizes and styles (uppercase characters are bold; lowercase characters are in regular style) everything that makes CA Hail to the King so varied and unpredictable. In addition to west European diacritics an extensive central European character set were added including some very nice stylistic alternates.

Ciutadella Display is the extreme partner of the popular Ciutadella family for use in large sizes. The weight has been taken to the limit in both directions. It is available in Open Type format and includes Alternate Characters, Ligatures, Tabular Figures, Fractions, Numerators, Denominators, Superiors and Inferiors. It supports Central and Eastern European languages. The type family consists of 12 styles, 6 weights (Thin, UltraLight, ExtraLight, ExtraBold, Black and UltraBlack) plus italics, creating an expanded and really flexible system. Wonderbar 2 is wacky, retro, and not to be taken too seriously. The wavy nature throughout the characters ensure that you're in for a wild ride. Alternating between upper and lowercase letters is like shifting gears. Uppercase characters take on a more undulating flow with stems that reach out to tickle you. Because of this slight overlap should be expected. In addition to Latin this childlike display font is equipped with Extended Latin for many European languages as well as Cyrillic. Galle is a very distinctive and specific typeface. It has 356 glyphs that are coherent in their own way. We have two versions to use: regular and italic. It is a display font with very characteristic letters, each of which has been developed separately, but in such a way as to match the rest of the typeface. The inspiration taken to design the cut is Sri Lankan typography - a lot of squiggles and sharp edges, hence the name of one of the prettiest and atmospheric cities in Sri Lanka - Galle.

Poplar is an Adobe Originals typeface designed by Barbara Lind in 1990 for the Adobe Wood Type series. Poplar, a Gothic condensed, was designed from photographs taken by Rob Roy Kelly of the one surviving copy of an 1830 William Leavenworth type specimen book. Leavenworth possessed unusual artistic abilities, and his treatment of the letterform counters as narrow slits made it the only wood type of its kind displayed during the nineteenth century. Poplar is an excellent display face, its simplicity making it useful for a broad range of work.

NO! I don’t have a bearskin rug, nor a fur collar on my jacket. I believe fur should only be worn by its first owner. I have no idea why I called this font Bearskin: maybe I was influenced by one of the Viking novels I am reading - they’re full of Berserkers - but that name was already taken. Anyhoo, Bearskin font is a nice handmade all caps font. A little rough here and there, but with a lot of character as well. Bearskin comes with swashes, so you can have a ball!

How does one arrive at a font name? With the thousands of digital typefaces available, it's not an easy process. Bandleader JNL was modeled from the hand-lettered title on a piece of sheet music called "Largo", which means "slow tempo". Since the names "Largo" and "Tempo" were already taken, what other musical theme would fit? The lettering is in an Art Deco style, and Big Band was all the rage of the Art Deco period; therefore "Bandleader". Sometimes the road to naming a font takes on many twists and turns but the end result is always gratifying.

Rosina is a geometric typeface with a distinctive charm. With a captivating fusion of dashing 1920s style and 21st Century sensibility, geometric forms have been taken and optically adjusted to create a sturdy typeface. Tall ascenders and descenders attempt to simulate architectural features of the Art Deco period, striving for a look of the future, nevertheless form always follows function. Rosina explores typographic boundaries and lends itself well to branding, posters and other display uses. Full details include 6 weights from Thin to UltraBold and include a range of OpenType features such as case sensitive punctuation.

Please Note: as this is a picture-only font, there are no latin alpha/numeric glyphs. Each wood type manufacturer had their own selection of original Logotypes or Catchwords designs. These are taken right from the original source material, an extremely rare 1910 catalog of an English wood type maker called Day & Collins in London. As the name says it, these words are intended to attract attention, to spice up posters, packaging or advertisement designs. I made these available for the digital age, leaving the original texture of printed wood type at the highest detail possible.

Benton Modern was first prepared as a text face by Font Bureau for the Boston Globe and the Detroit Free Press. Design and proportions were taken from Morris Fuller Benton’s turn-of-the-century Century Expanded, drawn for ATF, faithfully reviving this epoch-making magazine and news text roman. The italic was based on Century Schoolbook. This version of the family is part of the Reading Edge series of fonts specifically designed for small text onscreen, having been adjusted to provide more generous proportions and roomier spacing, and having been hinted in TrueType for optimal rendering in low resolution environments.

This group of icons has graffiti as central theme, based on the most representative images and styles of the artists; Guache, Toxicomano and DjLu. In addition, the 26th Street corridor (also known as El Dorado Avenue) was taken as the main reference because it brings together the work of many important exponents in this type of art; at least locally and nationally. Some icons are characterized by have a similar appearance with the Stencil technique or by have a loose stroke with high contrast. This font can be used in projects and works related to street art.

POLIGRA is an experimental typefamily and a homage to traditional printing of the pre-war era in Poland. Most of the typefaces based on traditional printing are either clean, geometric typefaces or completely distressed lettering. The POLIGRA project explored everything in between. The letters, cleaned up, redesigned where necessary, and defined in their entirety, have a friendly and warm character, as if taken out of the press. The selection of typefaces was based on theater and sports posters. All of them have blocky and geometric character, each of them is an all-caps typeface. The POLIGRA family includes 13 typefaces.

Breitkopf Fraktur was designed by Johann Gottlob Immanuel Breitkopf (1719-1794), the well-known type designer and printer of Leipzig. Breitkopf's high reputation is based on a system of printing musical notes which was developed by him. 1793, in the final stage of his life, he designed this beautiful broken script named after himself.Breitkopf Fraktur is classified as broken", something created by the German renaissance. Broken, because all round parts of the lower case characters in such typefaces look broken.Ralph M. Unger redrew and digitized this font exclusively for profonts in 2003. His work is based on artwork taken from old font catalogues."

The Fou typeface family was designed as an alternative to Trade Gothic condensed bold. During the design process of a normally wide font variant a system developed that responds to white space and changing proportions. Thus, round transitions become rectangular and vice versa, space is made and space is taken away. This system and the associated changes are continued on a model with semi-serifs. Fou can also be used as an alternative to Din or the wider Q-Type, but in comparison offers more room for emphasis with its italics, expert sets and numerous special characters.

Isotonic started out as a spin-off with the idea of creating a text oriented version of Ciutadella, it has since taken on a life of its own. Building on a foundation that has proven to work very well, we decided to open the counters and increase the x height. Even though it is not strictly a text font, it works surprisingly well in body sizes and screens. Kanna Aoki was designing fabrics and dishware for several major manufacturers when she designed MVB Cafe Mimi. The design came from a few words Aoki painted as decoration for a set of cappuccino cups. Aoki created the Regular weight for MVB Fonts using a brush. The Bold was adapted after digitization. Using several double-letter ligatures, the fonts can feel as natural and spontaneous as the original hand-painted lettering. Despite its curlicues and free-flowing forms, great care was taken to keep this script balanced and legible. It skips and hops along the baseline but doesn't lose its step.
