Badiya is designed by Lebanese designer Nadine Chahine as a modern and slightly modulated Naskh. The design has open counters that enable it to be used in quite small sizes.The resulting effect is that of a clear, legible, and modern text face. Badiya is especially suited for print in magazines and corporate communication. It combines well with Frutiger Arabic and Janna as a text face with a matching headline. The Latin companion to Badiya is Syntax which is included also in the font. The font also includes support for Arabic, Persian, and Urdu as well as proportional and tabular numerals for the supported languages.

Macha shares the same DNA as its sibling Anago, but is a completely different species than the former or any of my other sans serifs (Aaux Next, Air, Akagi Pro or Wasabi). It's no-nonsense construction bears many influences from Gill Sans and Frutiger while stubbornly blending my own humanist touch. The focus on developing Macha was just to get to the point with each letterform and discard the rest. Macha takes a little but gives a lot. A fully-loaded character set includes: Small Caps, Proportional Lining and Oldstyle Numerals, Tabular Lining and Oldstyle Numerals, Fractions, Ordinals, Inferiors, Superiors, Stylistic Alternates, Ligatures, Case-sensitive, and more.

Parenting JNL is a stylized Art Deco sans serif type design originally found on a vintage WPA (Works Progress Administration) poster designed by the Federal Art Project and touting the topic of "The Job of Being a Parent". Available in regular and oblique versions.

Coleface was created by the British typographer Roy Cole, completed shortly before his death in 2012. It comprises six fonts: Coleface 30, 60, 90 and the italics 33, 66, 99. As with his earlier typeface families - Lina, Zeta and Colophon - Coleface is a highly-readable sans serif typeface that offers significant flexibility in terms of its potential uses. Roy Cole studied typographic design under the tutelage of Emil Ruder at the Gewerbeschule in Basel, at a time when typographic history was being made through the creation of a style that epitomized modernity. Consequently the principles of order, simplicity and legibility, fused with experimentation, became a hallmark of his practice, as exemplified in his last font Coleface.

Cuckoo was first seen in 1988 when I painted it on a record shop's window. Since then this hand lettered font has been there and done that. Cuckoo is strong, classic and informal display font designed to work well on any job.

In the collection of vintage and historic images available online from the Library of Congress is one of the exterior of the Town Talk Diner in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Regrettably, on May 28, 2020, the Town Talk Diner was damaged by vandalism, and subsequently destroyed by a fire that engulfed the building early on the morning of May 29th due to civil unrest following the death of George Floyd. The restaurant first opened in 1946, closed in 2011 and subsequently re-opened under new ownership in 2014 with French cuisine, then from 2016 until its demise as an American bistro. While this was not known at the time of selecting the image for a typographic model, subsequent research on the diner turned up these facts. The large vintage sign above the entrance was in big, bold Art Deco letters with rows and rows of bulbs for illuminating the name at night. Coffee and Danish JNL, modeled from the image of that sign, is available in both regular and oblique versions. Perhaps, in a way, the type design will serve as a bit of historic recognition for a popular eating spot.

Grandezza Xtra is the standalone version of my most elaborate script. It is the script for many countries, good for Basic Latin, Latin Eastern Europe, Turkish, Baltic. I first designed 5 different sets and now this Xtra version which has a second set of capitals in the place of the smallcaps. This Xtra set is sufficient for most design jobs. In the heyday of "Tin Pan Alley", a song plugger was one whose job it was to bring a publisher's song to the attention of performers, show producers and radio station executives; the forerunner of the promotion man who visited disk jockeys with new record releases in the hopes of getting them played on the air. Song Plugger JNL was based on hand lettering spotted on some late-1920s-early 1930s sheet music.

Modula was the first high resolution headline face that Zuzana Licko designed with the Macintosh computer. In 1985, the computer was very crude as far as being able to produce subtle curves, but it was outstanding at producing perfect geometric elements. As a guide, she used the proportions of her earlier Emperor Fifteen bitmap design and applied the precision of the computer's geometric elements. See also Modula Round and Ribbed. Right on the heels of the tremendous popularity wave that made Hollandse Mediaeval the most used Dutch typeface during the Great War years, Sjoerd H. de Roos was asked to design a 15 point type for De Zilverdistel, Jean François van Royen’s publishing company. So between 1914 and 1916, de Roos and van Royen collaborated on the typeface eventually known as Zilvertype, and which both parties viewed as an improved version of Hollandse Mediaeveal. Like Hollandse Mediaeval, Zilvertype was based on the Jenson model, but it is simpler, with more traditional metrics, lighter and more classic in color. This Pro digital version of Zilvertype comes expanded in all directions. It contains a roman, a bold and an italic. Each font contains over 685 glyphs, including small caps, eight different sets of figures, plenty of ligatures, some Dutch ornaments, and extended language support covering most Latin languages. Zilvertype Initials is also there to round out this distinctively Dutch text family and make it ideal for immersive text design.

I was inspired by old posters and commercials for old 8-bit computers from the late 70-ies and 80-ies. Despite the lack of powers (compared to computers and phones today) they seemed to be able to both rule the world and ease your everyday jobs. Well, the thought of all that, combined with my love for grafitti and comic text, inspired me to do this font!

Linotype Punkt, from US designer Mischa Leiner, is part of the TakeType Library, chosen from the entries of the Linotype-sponsored International Digital Type Design Contest 1999 for inclusion on the TakeType 3 CD. This font, from US designer Mischa Leiner is available in three weights, light, regular and bold. The basic forms are those of a robust sans serif, however the figures are composed of evenly placed dots, hence the name Punkt, the German word for dot. This distinguishing characteristic lets this font look as though it appears on a background of light. One other unique trait of this font is the nature of the three weights. The figures of each weight have exactly the same measurements, the same width, breadth, etc. The only variable measurements are those of the individual dots making up the forms, making the bold weight much darker than the light while retaining the same outer contours. Linotype Punkt should be used in larger point sizes, as when it is too small the dots blur together and rob the font of its 'light'. The font is therefore best for headlines in large and very large point sizes.

Heer Halewijn (The Song of Lord Halewijn) is a 13th century Dutch folk tale which survives in folk ballad. The story tells of a man called Halewijn, who lives in the woods and who lures pretty women with his songs (whom he then kills). One day a princess visits Halewijn, but when he wants to kill her, she requests he remove his robe, so as not to stain it with her blood. He obliges and when he is undressing, the princess seizes his sword and chops off his head. Halewyn is a handmade font, which was loosely based on my Languedoc font and Garamond. Use it for product packaging, books and posters. Comes in 4 weights (with italics) and a ballad full of diacritics.
