About 7 years ago, I released a beautiful (imho) Art Deco inspired font called Weltschmerz. Weltschmerz was an all-caps font and I always wanted to do a lower case version as well. But as things so often go in life, I never found the time and forgot about it. Some time ago, I ‘rediscovered’ my good old Weltschmerz font and remembered that I wanted to create a lower case version. Without further ado: here is Neuer Weltschmerz (‘New Weltschmerz’). I redid the whole font, better kerning, better spacing, better looks… and with a proper lower case! I did keep the original handwritten look intact - because, well, it IS hand made!

Schnorr is a family of three fonts drawn by a German designer, Peter Schnorr. Schnorr Dekorativ is one of the less frequently seen of the alphabets he designed and one of the few for which he designed as lower case. Like many of the alphabets of the period, Schnorr Dekorativ is a delicate design. To provide a little more presence, we have added a DEMIBOLD version. Included in both Schnorr Dekorativ and Schnorr Demibold are an ornament of Schnorr’s design, seven T-ligatures and an alternate lower case t. 123=Ta, 125=Te, 135=Th, 137=Ornament, 167=Ti, 172=To, 188=Tr, 190=Tu and 177=alternate t. Schnorr’s design for the lower case t is unusual and not readily recognized. The alternate may be used to improve readability. Schnorr Initialen was designed as an upper case only design and as such is quite popular. It is often seen under the name of Odessa. Our font is a fresh scan and is paired with our Schnorr Demibold to provide a compatible lower case, along with all the rest of the auxiliary characters. Irish Penny is based on the lettering from Percy Metcalfe's beautiful and influential pre-decimal coinage of Ireland, the Barnyard Collection. The font is more monoline than is conventional for Irish insular styles, almost giving the feel of a modern soft sans, and perfect for small and large scale display purposes. In 2014 I made a font called Whatnot. I think I made with with a roller ball pen, but I am not sure, as it was a long timer ago. I have always liked Whatnot font and I think it deserves a second lease on life, so I made a new (and improved) version of it, called Whatnot 22. Not Catch 22... It now comes with better kerning, multilingual support (including Vietnamese, Sami and Greek) and a cool set of contextual alternates that cycles as you type.

A few fonts ago I mentioned the fact that I like posh English words; words you don’t really use in conversation. As I am busy expanding my ‘halloween’ font collection, I came across the beautiful word Nefarious. It means wicked or evil and when you say the word, it even sounds evil! Fantastic! Nefarious is a halloween/witches font. It looks like my Griezelig font, but it is rougher and spikier. Use Nefarious for your halloween invitations, posters and books about evil geniuses. The year 2022 went and 2023 came. I can honestly say that last year was a horrible year and I am happy it ended a couple of days ago. The first week after New Year’s Eve always fills my head with the U2 song ‘New Year’s Day’ - so I named this font after a line from the lyrics. I also happened to watch a fantastic movie called ‘Im Westen Nights Neues’, directed by Edward Berger, but based on a book by Erich Maria Remarque, which, in English, was published as ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’. Futurum Parqez is the first collaborative font for Parquillian Design. The idea for this font first came to the creator, Jose V Lopez, almost 40 years ago. A couple years ago he shared his concepts and we were gradually able to collaborate on editing the designs and turn them into a working font. The philosophy behind the font is to use a standardized frame format and the fewest strokes possible, while maintaining legibility, to create an original minimalist and modern style.

Koch Antiqua is based on forms of old Roman writings, chiseled in marble thousands of years ago. This contemporary version is more playful and reminiscent of the Roaring 20s.

Jeff Levine's Newshawk JNL emulates the tall, condensed headline fonts often used years ago when an urgent story broke and a newspaper rushed an "Extra" edition to the streets.

Bruney is a Classy and Unique font for brand and logo design. Based on our experience as a graphic designer who works for a lot of companies, we often are requested to design a logo in a unique style but with an elegant shape. Ten years ago, I introduced a package of Ruqah fonts, with the most prominent being Ruqah Light, Ruqah Regular, and Ruqah Bold. Today, I am thrilled to announce the renewal of these 3 fonts, with improved design and more beautiful lettering. My goal is to eventually create a computerized Ruqah font that closely mimics handwriting. My name is Teruyoshi Matsui. I am a Brush Art Designer. My foundry ‘Brush Art Design Office’ is situated at the foot of an active volcano ‘ Mt. Aso ’ in the Kumamoto Prefecture, the southern part of Japan. I design the letters of the alphabet with a Japanese brush. I have created the brush font named ‘ Lethal Fake ’ in my unique brush style. At the beginning of making the font I was going to name it ‘BrushType Lethal’ and tell you, “ Be careful using it. That’s because it ’s Lethal ”. But actually I was very disappointed when it was finished. I tried to make it lethal, but it was not. So I changed the font name into ‘ Lethal Fake ’. This time I have to say to you, “ Be careful using it. That’s because it’s not Lethal ”. Thank you.

ITC Typados is the joint effort of Roselyne and Michel Besnard and is composed of characters in two different senses of the word. First, it is of course made of letters and symbols, clean and legible with generous widths and x-heights. There is a hint of Art Nouveau style in the tapering, brush-like strokes. But the figures of ITC Typados are also made of characters in the theatrical sense: little tear-drop heads on tapering bodies that bend themselves into the shapes of an alphabet while maintaining a life of their own. The typeface is based on a recurring character in Michel's sculpture and painting, Ado. Ado is the first character who sings and repeats itself in all my creations," says Michel. "This adventure brings new forms for my painting and my sculpture: coiffed heads, bodies in the form of a cone, arms in the form of spread wings, etc." "Type" plus a number of "Ados" equals ITC Typados."

The original Lawabo was started many years ago by Rainer Scheichelbauer. Its ­minimalistic and rounded shapes are reminiscent of bathroom ceramics, hence the name. Schriftlabor designer Miriam Surányi added bold and italic shapes, and produced the family.
