Originally made in seven sizes, 6 to 48 point. Our font was digitized from the 24 point which we found in 1947 in a Sparks, Nevada, newspaper shop. Typical of the late nineteenth century types for job printers, where the rule was “never start a line with a font used in the line above”.

Confitería is the Spanish word for a shop where sweets and chocolates are made and sold, which sometimes has a tea room. And now Confitería is also a font that brings to mind lettering piped on delicate cakes ... sweet but never sickly. This font captures something of that simple and innocent beauty of traditional confiterías, where good manners will never go out of fashion, menus are elegant and time comes to a standstill to make way for life’s little pleasures. A confitería is a perfect place to share sweet tidbits with a friend or date, eavesdrop on the conversation at the next table, read a book, or just people-watch from the window. I celebrated my last birthday at one. There is one iconic confitería in Buenos Aires that I love more than the rest because, some 60 years ago, it put up its marvellous sign and never took it down. Walking by it is sure to bring a smile to your face. It’s big. Very big. And the lettering in its name is written in a timelessly beautiful vertical script – the most attractive I have ever seen. I joined forces with Sol Matas – who worked with me to update the Montserrat font –to design this geometrical connected font with pleasant, even strokes. It is elegant and saccharine-free. Hibagon is the Japanese equivalent of the Yeti from the Himalayas, or Bigfoot from North America. It is usually sighted on Mt. Hiba (Hiroshima prefecture), hence the name. I have never seen Hibagon myself, even though I have visited Hiroshima several times. Hibagon font is a nice, handpainted, all caps font with a mythical feel to it. It probably won’t scare you, but it will look good on anything that needs a bit of brushwork, or a bit of roughness.

My father is retired from teaching after a distinguished career as a professor at the University of Texas (and other colleges). He's also retired from writing in longhand, ever since I digitized his script several years ago. Professor is a slightly modified version of my ol' dad's cursive hand -- a good, strong, helpful, friendly, personable hand, much like the man. Use Professor for all your casual handwriting needs: my father doesn't mind. Comes in a single, medium-weight style.

If there is ever a need for a heptagonal font, that is, a font based on a seven-sided polygon, Heptagroan may fit the bill, unless the need is also for true lower-case letters. Yuge, apparently, is how New Yorkers pronounce huge. I have never been to New York, so I can’t tell if this is a fact. But I often hear a certain New Yorker pronounce it that way, so I guess it’s sort of true. Yuge is a handwritten font - made with a Sharpie pen. Believe me, it is a good font. It is fantastic. It is the best font ever. It is YUGE! ;-)

DIN Stencil Pro on Behance. DIN Stencil Pro: Specimen Manual PDF. Despite the fact that over the years several designers have manually created stencil lettering based on DIN for various projects, there had never been a professional digital stencil version of a DIN-based typeface until 2010 when the original DIN Stencil was first released. The Pro version was released in 2014 and adds multiscript support for Cyrillic and Greek. DIN Stencil Pro was based on its original counterpart DIN Text Pro and was particularly designed to address contemporary projects, by incorporating elements and weights which are akin to industries such as fashion, music, video, architecture, sports and communications. Traditionally, stencils have been used extensively for military equipment, goods packaging, transportation, shop signs, seed sacks and prison uniforms. In the old days, stencilled markings of ownership were printed on personal possessions, while stencilled signatures on shirts were typical of 19th century stencilling. Two companies dominated the market in the mid-twentieth century: the Marsh Stencil Machine Company in the United States and the Sächsische Metall Schablonen Fabrik in Germany. Barnet Sans is a humanist typeface with a grotesque-inspired personality. Lively stroke-endings of several characters give this design its distinctive style, as well as a friendly and approachable presence. Created for use in both print and screen settings, Barnet Sans delivers a hint of flavour in large sizes, while being subdued enough to work in smaller text-driven settings. This is the tallest, skinniest, most condensed, non serif font I know of. I designed this because I felt a serious need for that one big, thin word to fit in a narrow space. It is great for ‘SALE!’ in a one column ad. Also is a life saver for several long words in a narrow space like Merry Christmas... If you need a full character set take a look at the new Ultra Condensed 3 font family. Ultra Condensed was based on Tall Skinny Condensed with some changes and a full character set. Ultra Condensed Lettered is a hand lettered version and Ultra Condensed Line is a lighter hand drawn version

Sweeper is a font with several personalities; it’s friendly and scary at the same time, almost like Santa Claus, but nicer. Sweeper has got a handy touch with a lot of different possibilities. The Cinio family was specially designed for sign applications. This type family is used by several cities in France.

Martin is a quirky modern blackletter, inspired by several traditional styles. Despite the organic feel, its construction is entirely geometric.

Boshi is inspired by classic video games, but it can do more than that. Saturday morning cartoons, comic books and other logos that need to express fun are other ways this font can be used. One of the best desserts I have eaten in my life was a treacle tart. I do know that it was in England and I do know that it was delicious. I really don’t know why I was thinking of that, but that pleasant memory did give me a name for this font. I am still learning my new font software, which is a bit of a slow process. The software I used for this font allows me to add several languages, which, hitherto, I couldn’t access. So, in short, this is my most multilingual font ever: it even includes Vietnamese and a bit of Hiragana and Katakana for you to get creative with!

AggressIan is the release of the first font I ever drew. It was done by hand with triangle and parallel rule back in the mid-1980s. I originally called it Aggressor, but I never liked it. My local type designer friend, Ian Roberts, really likes this type of drawing and told me I had to release it. So I named it after him. The small caps should work well if you need a bolder version. It has oldstyle and lining figures, plus the small cap figures. I hope you like it.

I like playing around with brushes and Chinese ink. I always have some kind of idea of what the final design should look like, but once it’s done, it never ever looks like what I had in mind. Apex Brush is one of those designs: it started off as a few brush strokes, but before I knew it, I had a really nice set of matching brush fonts! This is a deco-style text OpenType Pro font loosely based on Koch's Locarno as seen in KochAltschrift a recent free German tribute to Koch's work. I was familiar with Meek's Letraset presstype version called Locarno, but I never liked the proportions used by either Meeks or Koch. So I radically revised ascender, descender, and x-height to make them more usable and brought the shapes within my sense of design. Mine is probably closer to Meeks than Koch, but hopefully it is a tribute to both. Astaire looks much more modern and it is much more usable. I added oldstyle figures, small cap figures, small caps, several ligatures, and more. There are an italic, bold, and bold italic also in this family
