Rincon is a serif font with 201 glyphs including ligatures and alternatives. It was designed by Rachel Kick in Los Angeles, California. Inspired by beautiful serif while maintaining a friendly and approachable feel, Rincon is perfect for branding, display, or marketing. Rincon has the ability to hold it's own as a single word headline, or in a paragraph form. It also works well with simple sans serif or script font compliments. Carpe Noctem (Latin for ‘Seize The Night’), was a bit of a surprise. Someone asked me if I could create a lower case for my Closet Skeleton font. I began working on it and lo and behold, a beautiful font started taking shape. So, if you’re in need of a slightly scary fairytale font, complete with angled edges, swirly bits, a couple of alternate - even more curly - glyphs and an alternate medieval ampersand, then Carpe Noctem is your typeface!

Cahuenga embodies clarity in text and distinction in display. Throughout the development process, references were sought out only as moments for consideration presented themselves. Thus, the development was long and complex with Cahuenga not prescribing to a single distinctive model as a foundation. Exploration around formal traits was influenced as much by aesthetics as they were by desired functional outcomes. Cahuenga organically holds a tone and pitch that is sincere. The name is emblematic of many who drive through the Hollywood area of Los Angeles. As in many parts, the driving route is convoluted from point A to point B. However, it seems more often than not, that when in the Hollywood area, one usually ends up on Cahuenga Boulevard at some point.

Although initially inspired by the neon sign in front of Canter’s Delicatessen in Los Angeles, the design of Deliscript Upright and Deliscript Slant soon took on a life of its own–and its own distinctive look. Like its sibling Metroscript, Deliscript has many features that expand its usability such as the the variable length tails which can be accessed in 6 different styles, and the never before seen crossbars which can be extended outward in either direction from the lower case “t”. Throw in the special “WordLogos”, tons of ligatures and foreign accented characters, and you have a recipe for typesetting that approaches the look of hand-lettering. From 1958 to 1964, one of ABC-TV’s popular shows was the detective series “77 Sunset Strip”. Based in Los Angeles, the fictional detective agency was located next door to Dino’s Lodge, (partly owned by Dean Martin and actually located at 8532 Sunset). It was originally known as the Alpine Lodge. The adjacent building where Stuart Bailey and Jeff Spencer’s private detective service was located in fact housed a popular modeling agency. The ‘77’ address did not exist outside of the realm of the series. However, a wonderful sign with Art Deco-influenced lettering graced the set (on the wall of the office foyer) saying “Bailey & Spencer Private Investigators Suites 101-102”. A screen capture of this sign served as the working model for Private Eye JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.
