Herrmann is a sans serif typeface family. It was especially designed for use in headlines, but it's great legibility also allows for use in longer texts and smaller sizes. The geometrical design gives it a distinct industrial / architectural style. Herrmann comes in 10 styles (thin, light, regular, semibold and bold, all in regular and italic) and has 374 glyphs.

ArtDeco Neue was design to give a strong characteristic to the titles of the Portuguese Art Magazine. From classic sans fonts (usual used by artists and galleries) this font developed with the double geometric lines of Art Deco architecture creating a contemporary design. The final result of each word depends of the choices the designer makes for each glyph.

Prior to the advent of digital type, many architectural layouts, amateur print projects and a myriad of other lettering jobs were created by the use of routed plastic templates and ink pens. Plastic Template JNL was designed from just one strip of a multi-part template set and replicates the clean lines of the original design.

A playful Art Deco face from master penman Samuel Welo is combined with design elements used in 1930s signage to create this architectural face. End caps are created with {brackets} and spaces with the design elements are _underscores. Isonorm was created in 1980 by the International Standards Organization (ISO). The font's design is simple, clean, and geometric, with strokes that all have rounded ends. Isonorm is a font whose forms are very legible by both the human eye and machine readers. The font is also a good choice for drafting and architectural purposes, as well as for technical charts and graphics.

Privé is a display handwriting font. The typeface is a distinct uppercased style hand drawn font and designed to be easy to read. Privé name is Old French for “private” or “participating in secret”. Privé is great for display work, invitations, writing, architecture, posters and headings. Privé is designed by Thoma Kikis and is currently available with Latin, Cyrillic and Greek character sets.

What would a typeface look like that used a gothic arch, a feature of medieval architecture, as its motif? I decided to find out and the result was not beautiful but frightful. GothicHorror uses a pointed arch almost everywhere that it can be used and is unlike anything else. It is ugly, but for some uses that ugliness is a virtue.

This family is OCR and ISO inspired, with an engineering/architectural feel, robust and pragmatic, with the usual technical ugliness chopped away.

Block Font Family is display font inspired by the forms of communist mass housing architecture (called blocks - resembling straight geometric shapes arranged symmetrically) started in the mid 70's in the 20th century. This distinctive poster face is based on the work of Dard Hunter, one of the pioneers of typographic design within the Arts & Crafts movement. A narrow sans serif, FUD Grotesk was inspired by brutalist architecture and modernist typography. There is a subtle stroke contrast, many inktraps, and even some microserifs (look for them in the main strokes!). Note the closed bowl apertures, exaggerated in the alternate forms, which result in a dense, ornate typeset. Five weights (from Light to Bold), and a large set of discretionary ligatures.

Qipao is a display monospace handwriting font. The typeface is a distinct hand drawn font using a felt marker. The Qipao name is derived from the traditional Chinese dress that Manchu women wore in China in the 17th century and became known as the qipao (旗袍), meaning “banner gown”. Qipao is great for display work, invitations, writing, architecture, posters, logos and headings.

Fabrikat Normal is a geometric typeface which is based on 20th century German engineers’ typefaces. It is optimised for small sizes and long texts, but due to its constructed architecture it also works in headlines or display use. You can combine Fabrikat Normal with the more straight and space saving Fabrikat Kompakt or the reduced to the max Fabrikat Mono.

Beneath the dominant signifier of identity, a surprising dimension of Bodoni is revealed—its core architecture, stripped of the famous high contrast cloak. Further subverting typographic norms, a monoline of even width (in all but the heaviest weights) here describes capitals, lower case, and serifs. And yet a certain quaintness is evident; this is, after all, both deconstruction and historical fiction.

Cascabel was built on a modular harmony and creates visibly maze-like geometric structures. When typeset in complete words, it conveys an unmistakable architectural approach to a design project. Quantour is a geometric monospaced display sans typeface which has a distinct style and is inspired by the Mid-Century Modern era. The Quantour name is a combination of the Latin 'quantum' meaning "unit of something" and the French 'tour' which means "to turn". Goat is a font display with extremely fine and sharp serifs, inspired by Gothic architecture, which brings a vertical elongation in extent and an allusion to the typical ogival vaults of the style. Eurostile Display Caps The Eurostile font family was designed (by Novarese and Butti in 1952) to complement the titling font, Microgramma, by offering a lowercase alphabet. Ubiquity: the possibility to be in several places at the same time; this could be the definition of a typeface like Ubik. Its applications are numerous and various: books, magazines, posters but also architecture and signs. Ubik is a grotesk sans serif with a “nordic taste”: shapes pure and somewhat square. The nonexistent contrast between thin and thick strokes gives it a discreet rustic look.

For the font design project, I had decided to make a typeface which would reflect the style architectural of Zaha Hadid. My purpose was the presentation of a font to her as Zaha Hadid was alive during my project process. But nearly at the end of the project we unfortunately received the death news of her. Her life wasn't long enough to see the project completed.

The peculiarity of this alphabet is already its origin: the basic drawing was created by narrowing Roman capitals with corresponding lowercase letters. The goal was to create a monumental font for architecture and book covers. Surprisingly, however, Amor Sans has found its way into corporate identity, offices, magazines and packaging design. Its slightly narrowed, economical design predestines it for quick reading of shorter texts, which is why it is also excellent for theater posters and programs. Wedge’ is the outcome of a search for the essence of a formal alphabet for text — for 26 letters of the simplest form consistent with ease of reading.. Noted New Zealand architect Bruce Rotherham (1926–2004) was inspired by Herbert Bayer’s ‘universal alphabet’ created at the Bauhaus in 1927. While he admired Bayer’s pure geometry, Rotherham felt it was ‘virtually unreadable’. The Bauhaus-inspired inclination for architectural publications to use sans serif faces provoked Rotherham to consider how a readable Roman book face might be approached using some of Bayer’s same principles of simplification, but also retracing the evolution and use of the Roman form in an analytic manner. The Wedge alphabet was started in 1947 when Rotherham was an architecture student at the University of Auckland. It was worked on and refined over several decades but never commercially released, until now. Over sixty years after it was first conceived, Wedge is available from P22.
