8 matches comment uploaded image In more cases we couldn't identifying a font maximality, cause the images submitted too small or blurring over. A few bit treatment can be solve the problems are: 1. The best resource images is material scanned from any media with 300 pixels per inch resolution. And also 21 cm wide is good. If the font images from web source, please searching a big or medium sample images from the source. Crop the image just in the "font" which you want to submit, and changing the resolution to 300 px by Adobe photoshop or any software available. 2. Change the file to B/W. Take sharpening and editing the edges as much as it is needed. 3. Reducing resolution with image size button to 1000 pixels wide or high (choose the longest) 3. Save as with "safe for web" button (Photoshop) 4. Playing the measurement file by "low-medium-high" resolution with radio button until you get 100 pixel lower. 5. Apply save and get the result. It can help the master font here to ease identifying the font or you can identify the font yourself by (for instance) www.myfonts.com :-) Best regards
5 matches comment I'm looking for a free race car number font. Sort of like the #18 on Bobby Labontes race car or the #29 on Kevin Harvicks car. Any ideals where I can find one? Any help would much appreciated! 12 matches comment You are not the only one who is confused. So am I. That is why I asked. Trough a Google ad link on this forum I stumble on urbanfonts.com. Never heard of, so I go there to have a sniff and see they have a forum. First impression, must be brand new because there are hardly any threads. Then I see that all threads started after May 20, 2006 but some have already more that 35 posts. Not bad for a brand new forum. Curious as I am I also open my other eye and see that these 35 posts all have the same date and are posted within 8 hours. I get more curious and start digging. What do I find? An excerpt of the former Abstractfonts forum. Messed up a bit and fancy user names but exactly the same posts. I find Liana (l-goldenquill). I find Tørnquist (nicknamed by me as the Viking and occasionally as Tweetybird). I find whole discussions between the three of us. Yet posts by the same person under different names. So, I wonder; what is this?? So I ask: Alex, what is this urbanfonts forum thing? The Alex in this question is Alex the webmaster of Abstractfonts.com. Is Alex who buried the old forum. Is Alex Chum.., Mississauga. So, Alex, I ask again, why is there a forum on urbanfonts.com that is a messed-up copy of a part of this (Abstractfonts) forum? Compare these: http://www.abstractfonts.com/forum/thread/30995/7091#post7091 and http://www.urbanfonts.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3 (ignore the first two posts in this thread). and jump to http://www.urbanfonts.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3&page=2 At the urbanfonts forum 'barrelt' aka 'byson' is hitesh.mehta. 'bullish' [how appropriate] aka 'chris' aka 'dodo' aka 'fox' is me, koeiekat. 'devon' aka 'falcon' aka 'ivan' is l_goldenquill [liana]. 'gilman' is Tørnquist [the 'ø' never showed on Abstractfonts, remember the discussion about that?].
12 matches comment It is there Slynkycat! See this :http://www.norfok.com/pre_otectpray.php For a few bucks (and even less Euro and even less Pounds) it's yours. Isn't that what you always wanted?
5 matches comment hi, I am the one who typeset the book. Unfortunately no, that wasn't a font. They were images scanned and inserted one by one - in fact, until not long ago I had all the scanned images on a disc, but I'm afraid I don't anymore. Sorry! I could try to get in touch with my friend who designed the book, who knows, she might have the source images somewhere.
1 matches comment I need to find the font for the 88 car numbers. My brother is making his derbby car look like Dale Earnhardt's car.
7 matches comment I'd say, buying fonts is fun. I've recently bought a good set of fonts I needed – not really, I'm just a fontaholic and desperate for that retro feeling so I try to sell that kind of atmosphere to my clients – from a foundry which I shall not name in honour to the Italian law against free advertising. Not just downloaded them all in a second but even received a cd for every set with a LOVELY design on each cover, based on the theme, the very atmosphere in which the designer(s) found the inspiration to draw them. Just great. Still, if you're an amateur or a freelance in his/her early years of work it can be frustrating to look at the shiny windows of the fontshops and stick to the free fonts - although some of them are really great. See, I'm a graphic designer and I worked ten years in daily newspapers and publishing houses. Since 2005 I work on my own, caring my clients and looking for new ones. I've recently bought a new, large house in the countryside – I should move there by early December – and haven't got so much money at the moment. I definitely stare, drooling, at the great, great set – oh, fuck the Italian law, we Italians are all outlaws, aren't we? – named «Luxury» from House Industries and – good Lord – I have to wait because 250$ is approximately the price for a cheap wardrobe (closet for the yankees, says my dictionary) I truly need. As I have to wait to buy a car larger than the one I own to drive me along the 60 kilometres that will hide me and my dogs from the large mass of people I'm fleeing from and nontheless I still work with. And none of us would steal a car, right?
