I did like the Steelfish font, and I download it. For that, I am grateful to ol' ute, but I need both fonts. Thanks for the other font, Ute. Where'd you get it???
Edit: Nevermind, stupid question. ;)

Hi,
First guess: Something Ultracondensed like Placard Condensed or similar stretched in the horizontaly. See the difference between the thickness of horizontal and vertical lines.
Possible typefaces for testing: Placard Condensed, URW Bee Four, AbbeyRoad, Steelfish
Try it with Steelfish?

This might give you a hint?
Bye bye

You could use something like Steelfish (dafont) and distress it.

I want use this font in a project, see photo attached, but I can't quite work out what it is. I know it's not the following fonts, but very simular;
Gothic Special Condensed Medium
Trump Gothic
Steelfish
Tandelle
Pacific Standard Book
Linotype Alternate Gothic 1
It's the main font used on the V Magazine website (for site navigation headings etc.) http://www.vmagazine.com
Help in identifying this font would be really appreciated.

Hi,
this is no real font. Look at the shapes of the capital S. They differ from letter to letter. It's a ,,normal'' typeface blurred/distorted by hand. The typeface might be Hanseatic/Swiss 924 BT or Helvetica Inserat UltraCompressed
You can try Steelfish Bold if you don't need 100% accuracy :
http://www.abstractfonts.com/font/3815?text=DEAD%20MAN'S%20SHOES
Just a few words about the blur (with Inkscape):
* write the text
* vectorize the text to splines
* add nodes to the splines
* add a random displacment
Bye bye
