@Heron2001:Also - there is a face called Letterman. It has this info on it:
Digital Typeface data licensed from the WSI-Font Collection. Copyright (c)1994 Weatherly Systems, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Redistribution strictly prohibited.
It comes in both solid and outline. Unfortunately, because of the copyright it can not be distributed on Abstract Fonts.
I just wanted you to know that it is available.
Yes, saw that. But that is one of these sports (sport, sport, weg met de sport, niets is gezond waar je moe van wordt) fonts. For square brains?

I have come across quite a few fonts here that deserve to be included/cross-referenced in the Sports category.
A small list:
Athletic
College
Cowboys
Go Long (possible)
Ivy League
Mandatory (possible)
My Puma
Pakenham (possible)
Porn Star Academy
Princetown
Raiders
Sport Spirit AF
Team Spirit
Viking Stencil
URWWOODTypD
The "possibles" are there because they are quite similar to fonts used for name lettering on soccer jerseys.
There's also some stylized scripts that are definitely used for baseball uniforms (Marketing Script and Ballpark, for one)
I hope this helps to expand the Sports category for everyone.
cheers!

Hey GCorp -- I could sense your desperation as I was out hunting fonts; I know there's nothing more aggravating.
I'm new to the board and am fairly self-taught, but I'll take a shot. Your images got dumped somehow, but I assume you're talking about the jerseys.
CELTICS: Name is a squared sans serif like "Institution". With a little distortion and leveling the middle bar on the 'S', you'd be close enough to fool anyone. The numbers are a typical sports "Princetown" or "Sport Spirit AF" is another I've found.
MAVERICKS: If I looked long enough, I might be able to place this one. It's definitely unique. Here are a few of my favorite shareware font sites you might try to visually match something:

http://www.fontparadise.com/
http://www.larabiefonts.com/
Dallas has some good Greg Buckner wallpaper on their nba.com site with the name in logotype across the middle.
If matching these fonts is critical, I know most sports teams now have a "graphics standards manual". You might consider calling the team office; they'd appreciate your desire for consistency.
Good luck!

You know, you are always welcome, KKat. And , by the way, it is no sport in cloning a typeface which was always a freeware, so no surprise you (and millions of others) have the original. Or am I getting something wrong?

Can anyone tell me where I can download the font the Detroit Pistons basketball team uses for the word "DETROIT" on their jerseys... preferably for free if possible? Thanks.
