1 matches view forum post #5491 For some reason, everytime I post a question involving a topic similar to the last, it vanishes. I'm assuming that this is happening because Alex doesn't feel like leaving similar posts up because he's getting sick of seeing them. Well, if he reads this, since he's the only one who would most likely before it gets taken down, I was only asking for a font similar to one letter. I understand that the whole word can't be one font, but you would think that you would have a little decency to allow the post to stay up long enough for someone else to offer advice.
1 matches view forum post #7165 Let me get this straight -- you don't mind paying for a pay font, and you don't mind doing work to get what you want? You're a newb. But I like it. I think your sample's closer to Lapidary333 than it is to Perpetua (the "a" tips you off, and Lapidary333 generally has a lot curvier descenders). The "T" and the "r" will need to be modded, but it won't be too hard -- especially if you're working from the picture you have. I don't know how much they'll run you, but Lapidary333 will be very useful to recreate the rest of the text in the picture. It looks like you'll need an italic and a smallcaps at the very least. And no problem on the help. This is fun for me, partly because I'm a very sick person indeed. If you can't find the fonts you need, you can e-mail me -- lianagoldenquill AT hotmail DOT com. I like your attitude.
1 matches view forum post #14228 Hi JRZay, just to remember those times, i hope you finally grew up in your childish and sick mind by now !! Two years later, it'd be about time ! And then when you disapeared and finally went to school to learn some manners, the board was thankfull and quieted down! Just teasing, man ! In memories of the times when we'd come twice a day to check the board wandering who-t-f JRZay insulted again and what war did he start! Goddamn, not again ! Mouahahahahah We sure had some subjects to argue about once in a while, but it was fun! Do you know what happeed to the fleapit? It closed too shortly after your filmhimmel No grudge, man! Take care !
1 matches view forum post #4084 Hi Alex, Kat and all.... I've been sick (allergies?) for the past few days so I didn't get a chance to respond. Thanx for letting me know about the forum...I had a different username there (Lynda V.E.) but one thing I wanted to say: I think being able to access this new forum with the same username instead of having to create another one is a good idea. I remember thinking it seemed weird that I couldn't access the forum with my member ID. Ah well. :) BTW Kat, I am very nice to cats....so nice that my mom & I adopt only rescued cats & kittens. She has 5 and I have 2. Hers were strays found near her home, mine were barn kittens. All are now healthy, happy, and very affectionate! My mom's 5 are made up of 2 sets: 3 from 1 litter, age 7 and two from another litter and mama, age 2 1/2. Mine are 6 1/2 and from a completely different area.
1 matches view forum post #8789  Mea Culpa and shame on me! I presumed that Parsons Italic Light and Parsons Italic was the same type. Oops! But then, they should have named it oblique. Anyway, Igot some of the Parsons Itacil around and are these sick! No space before a return? Half the character blanked out. Have Typograf look at the charactermap: instant coma. Now, as the Parsons Italic is a swashy version of the Parsons Italic Light and the lowercase of the 'Light' matches the Shelly Andante perfectly the solution should be - and indeed is - simple: we need the swashy versions of the Shelly Andante, Sheer Beauty. Shelly Volante and Sheer Grace are the answer. All said about the differences towards the Parsons Italic Light is also valid here. Hope this makes you happy.
1 matches view forum post #12068 Wolf has a point there, Heron. And because it is Christmas, in spite of this being yet another 'sports' thing, I've done some digging in my memory to give the Adelaide Wolf some peace too. The font world is a tough world - as you well know. Unlike us, who take care of the sick and handicapped, in that world you are abandoned straight away and even your name is taken away from you. When it is a minor illness you may take a new name that is similar to the family name or has some phonetic similarities. But when you really lost the fight you're out. And this is what happened here. This Serpentine family member got so squeezed in that wrestling fight that it was completely abandoned. Was not even allowed to take a name starting with an S. Now, would you do that to your cousin who fell down the cliff? Anyway, as Dennis Ludlow says on the opening page of Sharkshaw, 90% of what we consume is bad design. And he is right. Graphic interpretations of existing themes do not always lead to the best. As is the case here. And we talked about this one before in this thread. This abandoned Serpentine was forced to hide under the name Air Millhouse Italic.
