 I am a homeschooler looking for a high readability font, usually with a serif, for emerging readers. The advantage of the Sassoon Infant and Primer is that they help early readers form word blocks. Can anyone direct me to a free lookalike?

Sassoon infant doesn't look like a real handwriting font to me. But Stefan hattenbach had made a freefont named Montessori which looks a lot like Sassoon.
I'd recommend Learning Curves from bluevinyl or Primer Print or Print Clearly if you like those style. And don't forget: It's always the parents or teachers who teach the writing, not a font or computer. Have a nice day.

Sorry you felt the link needed removing, as I said it wasn't the commercial one... I had to manipulate it to make it resemble what I wanted.

I watched a video during class on Shakespeare, and they showed the playright. I noticed the nice writing and thought it would be a nice font. I was browsing the fonts and found one called ShakeFest which was it. I just felt like saying this. Proceed to your usual activites, now.

I noticed it was handwritten. I should have mentioned that I've already looked through the handwriting section and I didn't really find anything similar. Thank you for your quick reply though. I did find a really nice looking handwriting font on another site, but alas it's not free. It's called Felt Tip Senior.

Hmmm... that script thing... the one that comes close is the 'Lauren Script'. But J and o don't match - the rest is close enough. This type was cloned by Fantazia Concepts (notice the missing *) and released under the prozaic name of 'FZ Script 22'. I allways felt that the concept of Fantazia was; I'll take what's yours and call it mine.
That's all. If Lauren isn't good enough you're on your own.
