Limoen means 'lemon' in Dutch. Why did I call this font Limoen? Well, I guess I ran out of meaningful names, so I had to work with whatever popped in my head - which happened to be Limoen. This time the font's name is meaningless. Maduki doesn't mean 'cool' in Swahili, nor does it mean 'cup cake' in Sranantongo. It is just a nice name. Maduki is a playful font, created with one of my 2 year old son's marker pens (the 'no stain, wash-out' variety), a couple of cups of coffee and a whole bunch of 'speculaas' cookies. Now you're wondering what speculaas is, right? I'll tell you later - in a couple of fonts... Anyway, there's not much meaningful to say about Maduki font. It is nice, it is cute and it comes with alternates!

Linotype Schwennel is part of the Take Type Library, selected from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. This prize-winning font was designed by the German artist Svenja Voss. The figures seem to have been somehow eroded, parts of some strokes are completely missing, contours seem washed away. The eye works to put the pieces together to form a meaningful series of figures. The second weight, lila+negro, completes the letter fragments of the lila weight. Missing pieces are filled in and contours completed, making the resulting text stronger and a bit more legible. Linotype Schnwennel is intended exclusively for headlines in larger point sizes.

Eugene Grasset, the popular 19th-century Swiss graphic designer, dabbled in a multitude of disciplines such as ceramics, furniture, tapestry, jewelry and stamp design. Known mostly for his commercial posters and illustrations, he left a legacy of design that still fascinates scholars and professionals alike. One of the rarely mentioned Grasset treasures is the italic he designed in 1898 for use in two of his posters. Grasset's italic has an irregular quality that makes it seem much older than it is. It can be a very meaningful face in many contexts, such as map-related design or historical publications. Isla was digitized by Alfredo Graziani and completed by Alejandro Paul, maintaining the utmost respect for its historical flavor. The typeface includes a wealth of ligatures and alternates.
