The Classic Charles Rennie Mackintosh Font. Created in 1993, the timeless beauty of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s letterforms is now available at MyFonts for the first time. Since the 2006 launch of Rennie Mackintosh Glasgow, the world’s first lowercase Mackintosh-style typeface, designer George R. Grant has been pleased with its acceptance by Mackintosh lovers around the world. In fact, “Glasgow” has proved to be as popular as the original “founding” font, the classic Charles Rennie Mackintosh Font. By modifying many of these letterforms, and giving a more “freehand” shaping, George has developed this latest offering. The font has irregular “serifs” at the extremities of each stem - a suggestion of being handwritten. The name “Allan Glens” comes from the high school Mackintosh attended which, coincidentally, George did too. Says George, “As the school no longer exists, I wanted a way to perpetuate the Allan Glen’s name in type. I can think of no better way than associating it with the name of one of the school’s most famous sons. One of the glyphs even features the school logo”.

The Arts And Crafts-GS font is loosely inspired by the lettering of Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868 - 1928) of the Glasgow School, from which Jessie receive her training.

Hubbard is based on hand lettering from the Roycroft Arts and Crafts movement of turn-of-the-century New York. The Roycrofters were heavily influenced by the design concepts of William Morris and Charles Rennie MacKintosh. The font takes its name from Elbert Hubbard, leader of the Roycroft movement.

Novella has always been one of Fonthaus' more popular period (Art Nouveau) fonts. The style of Novella captures the essence of typography that was popular at the turn of the 20th century (1890-1905). Its curvilinear lines are organic and floral, complimenting the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Gustav Klimt among others of the time.

Willow font was designed by Tony Forster, a fanciful font in the Viennese Secessionist style. The work of Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired this condensed sans serif typeface with its rough edges and selection of alternate and ligature characters. Willow font revives the look of the arts and crafts of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Classic Charles Rennie Mackintosh Font has been a massive seller over the years. Its use in the Hollywood motion picture "Spider Man 2", has now been emulated by the branding of the the new Fox TV series "American Horror Story". Very unusual for the horror genre, this slightly tweaked version of the classic original mirrors how the show's producers have used it.

This is an original typeface designed in the Arts And Crafts style. It is similar to Arts And Crafts GS, but with a more organic hand lettering style true to the Arts and Crafts movement. It is loosely inspired by the decorative lettering of Jessie Marion King, and the Scottish style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh of the Glasgow School, from which Jessie received her training.

ITC Noovo is from British designer Phill Grimshaw and grew out of his work on ITC Rennie Mackintosh. He says, I still had 'Nouveau' coming out of my ears" and he drew it after a series of computer-intensive projects, "when I was missing the smell of permanent marker pens and the feel of paper." ITC Noovo is highly stylized yet works as both a text and display typeface."

ITC Stoclet is the work of British designer Phill Grimshaw, an offshoot of the research and experimentation which led to the development of ITC Rennie Mackintosh. It is a condensed, angular typeface, and its sharp angles, swooping curves and long forms are reminiscent of Art Nouveau. The font includes a number of alternative characters which enhance its flexibility. ITC Stoclet is ideal for large, ornamental designs as well as short blocks of text.

Night Train is a new font built from the ground up; while Night Train may resemble an old classic wood type there are a few lines that make this font a little more modern setting it apart from other wood type revivals. If you're a railroad enthusiast you're sure to enjoy the steam locomotive graphic located on the less than and greater than keys on all versions of this font, due to the fine detail of this train illustration the best printing results will be at 600dpi or higher on a laser printer. The Night Train name has been on my list to use as a font name for a few years, a friend from years ago used to sail his boat in the Mackinac race from Chicago to Mackinac Island, the name of that boat was the Night Train. Watching the 2010 Olympic four man U.S. bobsled team win gold with their sled also called Night Train has inspired me to complete this font.

The Art Nouveau styles of the the turn of the 20th century (1890 - 1905) exhibited a bold approach to organic lines and lavish decoration. This new style was spread throughout the world and helped usher in a new era that led to modern art and design. Art Nouveau SCF is strongly influenced by the style of decoration and typography created by Rennie Mackintosh as well as the Art Nouveau movement in general (with particular reference to Gustave Klimt and Alphonse Mucha). However, it differs from much of the art nouveau typography in that it largely avoids the use of straight lines in its letter forms. It is a decorative, romantic font and its subtly curved bolder lines contrast with delicate tracery to create an intricate pattern of organic flowing shapes. Posterama 1901 recalls the decoratively geometric style of Art Nouveau from the turn of the 20th century. Posterama 1927 captures the year of Metropolis, The Jazz Singer and Paul Renner’s pioneering, geometric Futura typeface from 1927, which had a profound influence on design in the US and Europe. Posterama 1933 – With its low-waisted, sinuous designs, the Posterama 1933 typeface family echoes lettering of the Art Deco period, which in turn had its roots in Art Nouveau, the key influence on Posterama 1901. The two fonts make a great team and can be used interchangeably. Posterama 1945 features a few Cyrillic characters to conjure up an era when Russian art and political posters made their mark in cold war propaganda, espionage and also giant aliens and monsters. Posterama 1984 takes its typographic influences from George Orwell’s classic novel, publicity for the dystopian action and sci-fi movies (Blade Runner, Videodrome and Terminator) and games like Space Invaders and Pac-Man that made an impact at that time. Posterama 2001 was inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s science fiction masterpiece, which made extensive use of the Futura typeface. Posterama 2001 finds its cosmic orbit with its nosecone-style ‘A’ from NASA’s much-missed ‘worm’ logotype. There’s an echo, too, in Bauhaus designs from as early as 1920, whose minimalist, geometric lettering also featured a crossbar-less ‘A’.
