Hi Liana-
OK, you'd think this one would be easy to pinpoint, but alas, no. Not being able to come up with an exact match (short of going to the very edge of the Earth, so ashamed I am), I have for you three alternatives. Firstly we have Bitstream's Aldine 401, the problems with which, as you can see, are the "y" (it just ain't stumpy enough), and the rather glaring fact that the fontset doesn't include a "curvy" apostrophe. The second is also by Bitstream - Iowan Old Style - a little too soft, plus it's also missing a curvy apostrophe. The last alternative is Aetna JY, which could well be the closest of the three. But once again the "y"s tail is too rounded, and the apostrophe is nowhere near the one in your sample. But, as is the way of things, I'll keep looking for you.
Halfwaytherily,

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could refer me to where I might be able to find more information (historical, technical, etc.) about French Ronde style script type. I have been working on my own design, but I would like to know more about the style itself. Thanks in advance. ~Lauren

Thanks so much. I drew this typeface as an ode of sorts to French Script.
It is not actually based on any one particular style of type, font, nor even any specific reference material... I just drew it with the intent of making an upright, connected and elaborate (for me anyways!) style of script.
Even though this font is not traditional, I think the French script influence is obvious... so I did try to reasearch this style of type, but of the originating typefaces (Civilite as you pointed out) I can find about a sentence. And that sentence is usually on myfonts.com
I would love to learn more about it, I really would. I hope to find some actual/physical literture on the subject.
Thanks so much for your help. I hope people like this font.

Please, can anyone help? I'm looking for a font which has a handwritten style a, rather than typewriter style, has a J without a line across the top and a k which loops on the kicking bit...
It needs to be fairly handwriting style, suitable for a child to copy, and needs to be sans serif.
I'd be really grateful if anyone knows of fonts which match the description, as I have searched everywhere.
Many thanks
