Onyon is a bizarre typeface with vertical stems that thicken in the middle and narrow at the ends. It was created as an experiment to see what a typeface would look like if the vertical stems were diamond or rhombus shaped. The letters are angular with unusual triangular serifs and they have no curves. It is a harsh, cruel typeface that will make your eyes water if you use it at small point sizes for text.

Jostern is the first font designed by EMME Grafica. It's a simple bold, all caps, grunge, eye-catcher font, particularly suitable for titling, branding and typographic amusements. The unevenness of Jostern does not affect the heavy and cubital aspect of the font, but gives it the right roughness to be able to convey a slightly rough and harsh impression, like that of Jos Stern, the bitter character who will be the protagonist of a multimedia project currently under development at EMME Grafica.

Broken is a grunge font with two interchangeable sets of uppercase. Redig is a bold condensed display typeface with an assertive and athletic aesthetic. Inspired by newspaper headline typefaces from early 1900s it has chamfered corners with rounded edges that smooths out some harshness and generous x-height to its lower case characters. Redig will shine when used big. And I mean BIG. This is certainly a case when “bigger is better” really is the truth. Redig comes with an oblique style and ligatures and works best in headlines, logos, branding, social media or any display type use. Use it big.

The first glyphs of Nougat Script were born in 2010 to honor the birth of my first chubby and charming daughter, Siena. The ongoing project with significant progress was presented at Tipos Latinos, the biennal of Latin America typography where Nougat Script was selected among 70 of the best fonts. After a long pause, the project had a powerful restart at the begining of 2018. In those days, it not only grew in number of signs but in complexity of behavior. There are 4 different types of writing within the same font file accesible via opentype features: Script (base or normal), two glyphic alternatives with well differentiated swashes and finally a small cap version. Nougat Script has a fresh and relaxed lettering attitude combined with the typographic harshness for elegant text compositions.

CA Oskar came into being as a custom typeface for the international Traumzeit music festival. As a substantial part of the new corporate identity, it had to be characteristic, but also flexible in use. Starting with the design of compressed caps for headlines, the typeface was soon expanded by a condensed weight for setting of text and further developed into a fully functional font with two widths and two weights. Both weights are very space-efficient, which was -- apart from aesthetic considerations -- an important issue in the process of the design. CA Oskar is a mixture of industrial harshness and friendly round forms, reflecting the spirit of fusion, which is basically what the whole festival is about. Its very slim proportions in two widths make it an attractive alternative to fonts like Alternate Gothic, but CA Oskar adds an extra portion of personality and a coherent choice of weights.

An unconventional classicistic Roman typeface This Roman typeface has a livelier effect than is typical of the epoch of classicistic style. In the lower case letters, an echo of the smoother forms of historically early scripts is identifiable. Typical of a classicistic Roman typeface are the emphasized and clear contrast in the weight of the strokes, the fine serifs and the accentuation of the vertical bold stem. Charpentier Classicistique is pleasantly legible. Its effect is much less harsh than other classicistic fonts. The pointed forms of M and N are uncommon. At 30°, the italic version of Charpentier Classicistique is unusually strongly slanted. The italic lower case letters refer, in part, to English handwriting, which also falls under classicism. Especially the curves show forms influenced by writing. Charpentier Classicistique supports all European languages including Turkish, Greek and Russian. It includes lots of ligatures, also discretional ones, as well as tabular figures and cap-height figures.

With its animated contours, and set in an appropriate size, the Garamond Rough typeface attempts to simulate printed hot metal typesetting. Its roughened edges make it appear softer and less crisp, and, thus, takes the harshness out of the type image. The size of the offered type complement as well as the number of its affiliated symbols makes it ideal for differentiated text setting. Nudista is a monolinear, geometric sans-serif based on the proportions of the Purista typeface, released in 2007. The forms are not based strictly on square shape, but rather on a pleasant oval, round shape. The letter outlines are smooth, even technicist, the geometric precision is however compensated in places where it would get in the way of legibility and compromise the desired visual impact. Nudista was originally conceived as a display type, but it is sufficiently legible even in text sizes. Thus, it suits short texts in corporate prints. Carefully chiselled letter curves are sturdy and well suited for the harsh conditions of low-resolution printing devices, they work well on computer screens and mobile phone displays. However, Nudista works best in corporate systems, navigation and orientation systems, where it may be, also thanks to the sufficient range of weights, a good alternative to the well-known and thus a little overused DIN. Naked typeface with no needless decorations humbly serves in all places where too expressive types could be disturbing.
