11 posts view forum post #17608 I really like this font, it's got all of the nice features of Myriad, but a little softer (notice the slopes). And it's a nice weight, slightly lighter than a Myriad Black. I tried Identifont, but it came up with ITC Legacy, which is definitely not it :-). Thank you in advance!
6 posts view forum post #16529 I happened to notice this is one of the most popular fonts running on MyFonts, and I think it's absolutely beautiful. Clean and perfect for many modern/sans headlines. The thing is, I swear it already exists as an OpenType font -- is this a knock-off of a similar design? Samples: http://www.insignedesign.com/Typeface.aspx?FamilyName=Aviano%20Sans Thank you in advance, RKM
6 posts view forum post #18952 I created most of these categories 10 years ago, when i was still a programmer kid who hasn't been around fonts too much. Later there was a designer who suggested some of the categories, such as industrial, which i wasnt clear about but was convinced that it was needed. I can always add/remove/rename categories, just like i recently renamed "Smooth" into less ambiguous "Rounded". If you have any suggestions i will always listen. dafont's categories are flushed out more under a few headers making it easier to find a category but it has many annoying limitations which i tried to avoid on abstract fonts. For example on dafont, a font can only belong to one category, which is a HUGE downside in my opinion. Having font in multiple categories allows a visitor to find very specifically categorized fonts, such as only Sans fonts that also have Hearts. Having this many fonts without this ability to recursively restrict categories will force you to go through all sans fonts and hope that they have some fonts that have hearts and then go through all hearts since some of the sans fonts could have gone under that category because they had hearts in it. So what i am saying is Abstract Fonts has a better system but it may not be used to its full capacity. If you have ideas of how to rename some categories, delete others or create new please post here or email me. That goes for you kkat too, if you have an opinion.

5 posts view forum post #14978 Hi, I'm trying to ID this font, as I've been hired to build a website to advertise the book it's used on. Any help would be greatly appreciated! cheers ~ Denise
3 posts view forum post #23259 Can anyone help me find a font called Press Sans. I can't find it for love nor money and my customers really picky so I don't think I'll get away with anything close. Can anyone help before I tear my remaining hair out. Cheers
3 posts view forum post #17201 I stumbled upon this *extremely* clean and neat Sans font that I'd love to use for headlines and easy-to-read presentation of numbers. I originally found this here: http://www.zionsdirectauctions.com/ack/ I've uploaded a sample if you prefer to look at the close-up. Thank you in advance! WPB
3 posts view forum post #21517 Cooper font.. a step up, or a step down from Comic Sans? I think Comic Sans takes the brunt. But Cooper is just as guilty. It gained brief recognition from the Vote For Pedro campaign but really it will forever be the go-to Shirtique font. (and Garfield)
4 posts view forum post #10663 Popular are Frutiger, Myriad, Helvetica, Minion and many more. If you want a more unique look try Dax(line), PMN Caecilia, Eidetic or Serus for a semi-serif which isn't Rotis. For a 300 pages resumee I would only recommend commercial fonts, as here you are relativley sure, that there are no problems with kerning and printing. But if you don't want to spend any money have a look in the Sans or the Serif section and take something with at least 3 weights. Example: M+2p regular. Or have a look at Fonce Sans, looks interesting although just one weight.
