This is my latest release : monmica family - a set of three multilingual, handwritten stylish copperplate calligraphy fonts. The files listed here are containing 1118, 1229 and 2018, glyphs respectively. There are many open type features: fancy swashes, alternates, ligatures, contextual alternates, fractions etc. - all easily available at the click of a mouse. Those fonts allow for creating text in majority of languages where Latin script is used.

Poetica font was designed by Robert Slimbach in 1992 with particularly generous characters. The typeface family consists of 21 weights to allow for an unusual variety of design possibilities within one typeface family. Numerous swash letters, ornaments and ligatures remind one of the early Renaissance and its unforgettable masters, for example, Giambattista Palatino, who later gave his name to Hermann Zapf's creation. Slimbach used the Lettera Cancellaresca as a model for his typeface, the cultivated humanistic italic which later served as a point of departure for the development of italics of the Renaissance and thereafter. Lettera Cancellaresca is very legible, extremely harmonic and impressively beautiful. The early forms display two different compositional tendencies, namely the static of the simple vertical capitals and the italic dynamic of the slanted lower case alphabet, as shown in the weight Chancery 4. The capitals later conform to the slant of the lower case, as shown in the weights Chancery 1-3. Poetica font should be set according to the included suggestion in order to see the full benefit of its grace and beauty.

Pontina is the name of a multilingual didone typeface. Its elegant character is built up of playful and lively strokes combined with high ascenders and high capital letters, that gives the classical forms a modern individual touch. It combines both: legibility and an ornamental curvy look for display purposes. The typeface provides true italic fonts for each weight, which fit harmoniously to the regular fonts. Pontina can be used for headlines and also works well in smaller text sizes. The text styles have slightly lower capitals and ascenders for better legibility. The first font by the hand of this design team was Antediluvian, which consists of solid and down-to-earth glyphs - unearthed in fact, from ancient history. Sonica on the other hand is designed with a most volatile and dynamic geometry. If Antediluvian would be the alchemical Salt, Sonica would be its Mercury.

Antica has sharp triangular serifs, and in 8 weights with true italics, it forms a family that stylistically finds its origins in Latin styles of the nineteenth century. Commonly named ‘Latin types’ did not vary in weight, but we decided to create Antica with a range that goes from thin to black and we also added extra curlicues to the letterforms. Antica borrows from the versatility and freedom granted to type founders of the nineteenth century – a time when the meteoric growth of mass-produced consumer goods led to an increased demand for publicity that needed fresh, attention grabbing typefaces. And as an homage to these Latin types we designed Antica to function well with an array of projects from stylized labels and formal editorial design requiring small type sizes to large-scale posters and billboards. Designed for the printing of a magazine, the Fontana Sistema was based fundamentally on the Spanish language as its natural and cultural context. Due to the spanish colonization of America, the spanish language has been influenced by native american terms that enriched it and caused significant changes in both the sound and form of words. These sounds and forms had a strong influence on the identity of text, substantially modifying the nature and the characteristics of the composition. The Fontana Sistema we present is the fruit of our desire to design a font that, based on the spanish language, would endow the publication with identity and at the same time offer a framework for typographic research.

Thalweg Poetica is a revival font that comes with a story created in 1993 by the Bulgarian artist Ivan Kyosev. It is a sequel to the Thalweg font family completed in 2020. The construction of characters combines the upright character of the Thalweg font and the handwritten character of Thalweg Italic.
